Bonnington House Nursery is an independently run nursery which provides a safe, stimulating and happy place for children to play, learn and thrive.

We take great pride and pleasure in seeing the children grow and develop through our combination of outdoor learning and child centred play.

Our Georgian built nursery offers spacious and sunny playrooms and wherever possible, we encourage outdoor play.

The nursery is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday all year round, closing only Christmas, New Years Day and select bank holidays.

Through the years We care for children from 3 months to 5 years and we are in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council for the provision of funded places for 3 to 5 year olds. As your child develops, they will step into a new room - their journey will look something like;-

Childsplay and learning At the nursery, each room offers areas to stimulate and educate the children through play, such as construction, role play, sensory play, messy play and much more!

Outdoor Play We have a large & well stocked garden, providing an adventurous place for young children to explore, play and learn.

Pre-school have easy access to the garden from our bright & sunny playrooms, the children have endless opportunities for high quality play and learning.

Younger children have access to a large garden space enabling adventurous outdoors play.

Our forest school Our Nursery places a high emphasis on outdoor learning, our staff and children often have trips to Victoria Park, which is just next door and pre-school have access to our Forest School on site.

Some of our staff members are Forest School trained and activities include den building, fire building, tree climbing, bug hunts and learning about nature!

Our classes classes Our Bonnington House Nursery offers a variety of local specialist classes such as language, sport, yoga and Dance.

In our classes, every child can achieve. We love seeing the children engage with the magic of the classes – developing their little bodies and minds We have a variety of local companies that come to our nursery, offering a bespoke programme, specific to our nursery settings.

Sleep Rooms Each room has its own sleeping area for naps during the day - babies have a sleeping room with cots and the older children have access to a cosy sleep room with floor beds and blankets.

Each child has their own sleep cot or mat, in these rooms we promote a calm and soothing environment and where possible we cater to their individual needs.
