From Passion to Business: Tahira de Palm’s Journey

Tahira de Palm always knew she wanted to work with children—but on her own terms. With The Magical Bonaire B.V., she has transformed that lifelong passion into a business rooted in trust, care, and meaningful connections with families. To bring her vision to life, she approached Qredits for a microloan, which helped her purchase a vehicle and officially launch her childcare and transportation services.

From caregiver to entrepreneur Tahira’s journey in the childcare industry began at just 14 years old, when she started working at a daycare center. She later pursued an education to become a pedagogical employee and went on to work in various local daycares, as well as serving as a full-time nanny for a family for six years. Throughout this time, she cared for young children with dedication and warmth. But deep down, she had a bigger vision: “For over 15 years, I wanted to start my own business. I didn’t want to stop working with children — just not in the same setting, and not for someone else.” In 2023, Tahira took the leap and launched The Magical Bonaire B.V., a child transportation and nanny

More than just a ride

At first glance, her business may seem simple: she offers nanny services and transportation for children.

But it’s much more than just driving. Tahira focuses on building trust—with both the children and their parents—and often becomes a second mother figure. Whether it’s picking up children from school, taking them to after-school activities, or providing in-home care, every moment is filled with intention and care. She stays in close communication with parents, acting as the link between home and school when something doesn’t go as expected. During rides, the children often open up to her, sharing their thoughts and playing games along the way. With a growing team Tahira is proud of the community she’s building—one child at a time.

The business side of a passion Turning a dream into reality often requires more than motivation — it takes resources. Tahira did her homework, consulting several banks before landing on Qredits, a financial organization that offers support to small entrepreneurs in the Dutch Caribbean. With Qredits, she received the full support she needed to get started. “At Qredits, I managed to get the complete service.”

Tahira shares the following message with others dreaming of turning a hobby into a business: “If your heart is in it, go for it. When it’s something you love, you’ll do it with passion and care. And it’s always better to work for yourself, to fight for your own dream, than to spend your energy building someone else’s.”

In just a short time, Tahira has built something meaningful — for herself, for her team, and for the families who rely on her. The Magical Bonaire B.V. is more than a business; it’s a testament to what happens when care, courage, and community come together.

Tahira’s business is about making a meaningful impact in children’s lives.
