. . . s e Wish 2 Bonei Olam
Where Wishes Take Wing
Wishes. Let me tell you about wishes. I joined Bonei Olam as a volunteer some seven years ago when I saw how they helped my sister-in-law. I never imagined how different it would be when dealing with people directly. When you’re on the outside looking in, you tend to crunch the numbers: X amount of couples, they need X amount of dollars. But when you interact with people you get a whole different perspective: these are all real people. They’re neighbors and friends and people like you and me, but their hearts are aching… Each couple is a story unto itself. And Bonei Olam is there for each and every one of them through thick and thin. I remember a young woman who came to us several years ago. She had undergone aggressive chemotherapy not long after her marriage and doctors told her she was highly unlikely to ever have children. She herself was an only child, and was absolutely heartbroken at the prognosis.
Believe me when I tell you we literally sat and cried with her. It took almost three years… and today Leah is the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl. Can there be a greater joy? Is there a more worthwhile investment?! Cases? I could spend hours telling you the most unbelievable miracles. The woman who married rather late in life she was 42 at the wedding – only to face complications that seemed to indicate she was not a candidate for motherhood. Finally, at age 48, this woman received the most precious gift in her life: a delicious baby boy. Stop to think for a minute and let it sink in…what could have been, and what was. Wishes - it’s something I witness every day. Oh how they wish! Some may think they’ve given up hope, but inside that wish is on fire. It’s a longing as real and powerful as life itself. Join us in doing our part to help wishes take wing. Bonei Olam

. . . s e Wish
There is nothing so wonderful in this world as a child. A newborn baby, completely oblivious to his surroundings, yet generating immense happiness in the hearts of those around him. A wide-eyed two-year old smiling “Abba! The innocent voice of a first-grader singing kummotz Aleph. A precious bedtime hug: a moment of love that is eternal.
Help Bonei Olam give the gift of life.

. . . s e h s i W Where Wishes Take Wing
“I remember the dark years very vividly. The long quiet afternoons, the silence echoing in the empty rooms and in my empty heart. How I dreaded my acquaintances’ well-meaning words of encouragement barely concealing their looks of pity. During licht bentchen I would daven in solitude with hot tears falling on my siddur. Through it all, Bonei Olam was a rock of strength for us. The funding for
treatment made it possible to pursue our wish… but even more special was the warm and caring guidance. They were so sensitive to my pain, they knew exactly what we were going through. Now, as I hold my Malky and Elchonon closely, my mind wanders as I relive those painful times. I am filled with gratitude to HaShem, and to His special messengers on this Earth called Bonei Olam…”
