2024 has been another great year for our organization, our industry, and our members! We are very appreciative of your continued support and engagement and are pleased to share some highlights. Events, Education Advocacy and Other Initiatives.
Last year, we launched a new, modernized website that features exclusive member benefits, such as a searchable real-time Member Directory, and a comprehensive Resource Library.
Education formats were enhanced in 2024 to better accommodate our members’ needs through inperson, live stream, virtual and OnDemand learning for 24 Education sessions and building tours
Eight, high-profile Signature Events add value and connect our members through a variety of engaging formats, with our ever-popular Holiday Luncheon planned to cap off the year on December 6th .
With our CRE Advocacy Coalition of REALPAC, NAIOP, Toronto Financial District BIA, Toronto Region Board of Trade and Retail Council of Canada we are committed to positive action. We have been very active and are advocating and lobbying on behalf of all our members with the City of Toronto on the proposed Parking Levy and Stormwater Levy, and with the Provincial Government on the significant delays to the Property Assessment and Taxation cycles We also sit on the Congestion Task Force hosted by the Toronto Region Board of Trade. This Coalition remains robust, resilient and committed as we continue to advocate for our members and the industry.
Mentors and Interns are leading the way!
Mentorship provides a great pathway for members to connect, grow their careers, build new relationships and enhance their professional skills. Last year, BOMA Toronto introduced a new Mentorship Program with over 60 emerging leaders, seasoned professional members and CRE leaders paired as Mentors and Mentees in Cohort 1. Fast forward to today, we are now half way through Cohort 2 and are very pleased with the results to date. Watch for our Call for Applications for Cohort 3 in January 2025!
Our second annual Intern Event, NXTCONNECT took place in July at the beautiful, Toronto Harbourfront. This successful event saw 180 interns learn more about the CRE and the many career opportunities, meet other interns, and connect with industry leaders through speed networking. The tremendous success of these new initiatives provides a compelling impetus to build on this program in 2025 and beyond.

We’re on track to win big in this month with 18 candidates competing at the National Awards Gala in Vancouver at BOMEX 2024, we anticipate a very successful evening. Our members are vying for 7 TOBY Awards, 7 BOMA BEST Awards, 2 Pinnacle, a national Emerging Leader Award and the national BOMA Member of the Year award.
