This class begins with an overview of thermodynamics, and understanding the HVAC system. Additional topics include: chilled water systems; air cooled chillers; specifying and buying chillers; air handling system operation and maintenance; water source heat pump systems; components, operation and maintenance of heating systems; gas fired, combustion system operations; hot water systems; and steam heating and electric heating systems. The EPA exam is administered at the end of the course.

The CRE Collaborative Service Certificate Program is a four-day, five module program designed for new and tenured commercial real estate product and service providers. Through this course, you will learn to take charge of real estate investments in order to maximize the value of a property. You will develop knowledge about basic financial concepts as they relate to real estate, including valuation, analysis, taxation, depreciation and life-cycle costing. Similarly, you will learn to evaluate real estate investments and to develop budgets that estimate net operating income. You will study the income capitalization approach and cover property taxation costs and strategies to offset these costs. From research studies to salary reports to partnerships with CRE Insight Journal, the founda tion wants to meet property professionals where they are with what they need. Below is new research released by the foundation in 2022!
In order to more accurately document the changes in salaries and benefits among property management and building operations and maintenance profes sionals, the Foundation conducted the 2022 Metro-Atlanta Property Manage ment and Building Engineering Salary and Benefits Survey following the 2021 survey to help property management professionals better assess their work force and benefits structure. The research includes extensive salary and ben efits data for various property management and building engineering positions. Position titles have been standardized and include descriptions, which enable Georgia real estate companies to benchmark their salary and benefits.
The BOMA Georgia Foundation partners with other markets and BOMA local affiliates to conduct research like the 2022 Metro-Austin Salary and Benefits Survey. In 2022, the BOMA Georgia Foundation partnered with BOMA Austin to conduct and publish this research for property management professionals in Austin, TX.
With the 2022 passage of Georgia’s new Constitutional Carry Act (SB 319), the BOMA Georgia Foundation has updated and released its research report on Firearms in Georgia.
There have been several watershed firearms bills in Georgia over the last decade, including the Georgia Safe Carry Protection Act, enacted in 2014. While many of those provisions remain in effect today, the more recent Georgia Constitutional Carry Act (2022) made changes throughout Georgia’s weapons statute. This paper reviews Georgia’s current firearms laws as it relates to property management.

These webinars not only allow a wider audience for important discussions, but it allows BOMA Georgia members to attend even if they cannot leave their office. These webinars will occur throughout the year.
BOMA Georgia always looks for ways to create value for its members. Every year the association offers free seminars to BOMA Georgia members.
Specifically designed for BOMA Georgia allied members, the Allied Member Resource Group meets quarterly for a free seminar. The seminars explore specific topics related to either doing business or maximizing an allied member’s experience within BOMA Georgia. These seminars are always free for BOMA Georgia allied members. Non-members may attend at the non-member price of $50.

If you are 35 and under and looking to advance your career in the commercial real estate industry, then the Young Professionals Education Series is perfect for you. Attend for a chance to network with leaders in your field, and discuss issues affecting young professionals in the industry.
There is a significant need for additional access to continuing education in the real estate industry. While corporate budgets for training and development are often constrained, the pace of change in real estate continues to accelerate. To effectively lead in this complex and changing environment, people need new opportunities to access and afford education. The BOMA Georgia Foundation provides this support through a scholarship program that has proven to advance careers and transform lives. However, this would not be possible without the generous support of foundation donors.
Based on donor feedback, the foundation has created a new Leadership Society to recognize individuals and companies who have made a commitment to consistently support the foundation. Membership in this special society highlights a commitment to serve others and signifies a leadership role in advancing the real estate industry. Individuals and companies commit to making an annual tax-deductible donation over three years.
