Message from the Principal
I am delighted to welcome you to the launch of our Awards for Excellence, with our first awards celebration taking place on Tuesday 30th June.
This booklet introduces an important new chapter for our college. The Awards for Excellence have been created to recognise and celebrate the wide range of achievements, commitment, and positive impact demonstrated by our learners, team members, employers, and partners. While excellence is evident across the college every day, these awards provide a formal and meaningful way to acknowledge those efforts and celebrate them together.
This first year marks the beginning of what we intend to become a valued annual tradition. The award categories reflect our college values and recognise not only success and outcomes, but also development, perseverance, leadership, inclusion, collaboration, and contribution to our wider community.
I would like to thank everyone involved in helping to launch these awards, particularly those who take the time to nominate others. Your nominations help highlight the many examples of excellence that exist across our college.

It is a pleasure to support the launch of the college’s Awards for Excellence and to welcome you to this booklet introducing the award categories.
As governors, we are committed to recognising the people and partnerships that help the college succeed and make a lasting difference to learners. These awards provide an important opportunity to celebrate achievement, dedication, and positive impact across every part of the college community.
The range of award categories reflects the breadth of excellence across the college, recognising progress as well as performance and contribution alongside achievement. On behalf of the Governing Body, I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to establishing these awards and congratulate all those who are nominated.
We look forward to celebrating these achievements together and to seeing the Awards for Excellence grow year on year.

Each category includes a brief description to support consistent nominations and to help teams identify individuals or organisations whose contribution, progress, or impact merits recognition this year.

Celebrates an adult learner who shows high levels of commitment, achievement, and progress while balancing learning with other responsibilities.
Awarded to a learner who has made the most significant personal, academic, or professional progress during the year through effort and determination.
Recognises a high‑performing apprentice who consistently demonstrates strong skills, professionalism, and commitment in both the workplace and their studies.
For a learner who has overcome significant challenges and shown perseverance, motivation, and determination to succeed.
Celebrates a learner who has demonstrated effective leadership through student voice activities, mentoring, ambassador roles, or representing peers.
Recognises a learner who has made a positive contribution through their workplace, work placement, volunteering, or wider community involvement.

Support of the Year
Student Champion Award
Awarded to a member of the support teams who has made a valued and consistent contribution through dedication, professionalism, and teamwork.
For a team member who consistently goes above and beyond to support learners’ success, wellbeing, and personal development.
Rising Star Team Member Award
Recognises a team member who has demonstrated clear professional development, perseverance, and commitment, with work that stands out through consistent effort, improvement, and positive impact on learners, colleagues, or the wider college.
