This yearbook belonged to the same Skip Benolken cited previously. I have depended heavily on it.

Clifford Schultz: One of the most important dedications in the history of The Bolles School. The students said it best, but I’ll add a few points. He led the school through its first major transition. Fortunate to be a philanthropist, he funded the school’s first new construction: the canteen and a state of the arts academic hall, now known as Schultz Academic Hall. He earned the respect and admiration of the Board and directed the Board through these tough years.
His legacy is profound, but it can be stated simply. He worked continually to make Bolles a better school in every dimension: academic, athletics, activities of all kinds, and a spreading reputation of excellence throughout the region. Bolles simply would not be Bolles without this man’s towering leadership!
Major Hooker, introduced earlier, worked closely with Clifford Schultz, discussed above, to secure the future of the school, today an internationally known and highly regarded preparatory school for boys and girls from pre-k through twelfth grade. Today, twenty-five plus will attend from pre-k through graduation; these remarkable graduates are known as “Lifers.
Most are oldtimers at this point, and some are just old.
Colonel Dale Hall, a former marine, assumes command of the army unit, “Company A. Lieut. Charles Lamb Joins the coaching staff; in a couple of years, he will become the head football coach by default, as explained later.
As always, an impressive student command. Ellis Crosby is the older of two brothers to leave their mark upon the school; The other is younger brother Ted, who is memorialized by his family.
Of interest: Thomas McCarter has always had a picture of Bolles Hall hanging in his office.
This is the first time this organization appears. No doubt the brain-child of the “Mr. Everything, Bill Hochheim. Wherever there are ideas to be discussed, particularly if they are controversial ideas, Captain Hochheim is sure to be there.
And the band plays on!
Oh well, there’s always next season.
