By now most necessary annotations/explanations have been recorded.

From here on I’ll comment largely on new material which helps to advance the narrative.

This very attractive page suggests a new and creative approach. The school is now old enough and accomplished enough to tell a story, actually the first chapter but what a first chapter!

The second active teacher to receive a dedication, Paul Huston, the “Chief,� enters the pantheon.

He is another beloved English teacher mentioned by every responding alum.

A grand setting then, an even grander setting today.

The faculty is well established now, not many new faces or names.

The most important new face is Major Gildersleeve, English, who will culminate his Bolles career as a short-lived principal and then abandon academia for the private sector.

Captain John Keating is an important new name.

He takes over a thriving English department, but soon decides that he prefers the cooler temperature of Boston.

Edward Andrews is one of a very few ever to serve as both battalion commander and valedictorian of his class.

Whoops!

I spilled my martini again.

One wonders if their knees are filled with sandspurs, which, in those days, were more prolific than grass.

Scores appear to be creeping up.

Swimming continues its winning ways.
