STUDENT BODY 1937

From fourteen lads when the doors opened in January, 1933, to this hefty assembly in 1937, The Bolles School continues to thrive.

Ralph Andrews was one of the most admired of the original faculty.

All are prominent Jacksonville citizens who would ensure the future of Bolles.

Thirty-one more cadets are prepared for college.

We now begin to see pictures of young men whose sons and grandchildren of both sexes will begin to appear on the Bolles rosters in the sixties and beyond, not to mention names who will begin to appear on the Board of Trustees and physical plant facilities.

A beautiful picture of the boathouse which beckons boarding students during their infrequent leisure time.

It was the most impressive dock on the river at that time.

The color guard has now moved out to the cannon.

The football team has begun to put on a little more beef.

Ever wonder why football and baseball are spelled as one word but basket ball is two?

Actually, it varies from class to class.

“Minor sports ?�

Better not use that term today.

Swimming? A minor sport?

One wonders how many romances started here, perhaps even how many couples ended up married and how many Bolles students they may have spawned.

Glynlea, of course, becomes Bartram School.
