Its privileged location covers 20 miles of beach between two towns: San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. No matter what hotel you choose to get married in, birds and sunsets will decorate your big day.

Hidden between two cliffs, Esperanza hotel (esperanza.aubergeresorts.com) has a crescent-shaped private beach. San José del Cabo is full of restaurants and art galleries. Do not forget to visit the Misión de San José del Cabo Añuití, a Jesuit building of 1735. If you like cactuses, take your time and stop by Wirikuta, a botanical park in the nearby tourist development of Puerto Los Cabos.

4 The Cabo San Lucas marina is the place to embark on all kinds of excursions: either to fish, watch sunsets or visit El Arco, the most photographed rock formation in the area.

4 At a couple of hours from San José del Cabo is Cabo Pulmo National Park. The reserve is home to one of the few remaining living coral reefs in North America. Diving here, among hundreds of marine species, is a privilege that no one should miss.

4 Every winter, the gray whales leave the icy waters of the Arctic in search of cooler streams to breed. The coasts of the Baja California peninsula are their target. You can watch them in Los Cabos between December and March.

Si te gustan las cactáceas date tiempo para conocer Wirikuta, un parque botánico ubicado en el cercano desarrollo turístico Puerto Los Cabos.

4 La marina de Cabo San Lucas es el sitio para embarcarse en todo tipo de excursiones: ya sea para pescar, ver atardeceres o visitar El Arco, la formación rocosa más fotografiada de la zona.

4 A un par de horas de San José del Cabo se encuentra el Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo. La reserva alberga uno de los pocos arrecifes de coral que quedan vivos en Norteamérica. Bucear aquí, entre cientos de especies marinas, es un privilegio que nadie debería perderse.

4 Cada invierno, las ballenas grises dejan las heladas aguas del Ártico en busca de corrientes más frescas para reproducirse. Las costas de la península bajacaliforniana son su objetivo. Puedes verlas estando en Los Cabos entre diciembre y marzo.

Most hotels in Los Cabos are resorts able to organize events as big as you want. If you prefer a more intimate wedding you can celebrate it at Casa Natalia (casanatalia.com), a boutique hotel in the heart of San José del Cabo. It’s small and offers French-inspired cuisine. The party of 80 guests would be held in its outdoor restaurant.

02. Mazatlán the scenery

The port of Mazatlán is located in the south of Sinaloa. The Spaniards used it in the 16th century as a strategic point in their maritime raids. Today it is a destination with golden beaches and romantic sunsets. A long boardwalk connects the old town, full of houses and plazas, with the Nuevo Mazatlán, a modern tourist development including many hotels, marina and a golf course.

Al sur de Sinaloa se halla Mazatlán, el puerto que en el siglo xvi sirvió a los españoles de punto estratégico en sus correrías marítimas. Hoy se trata de un destino con playas de arena dorada y románticos atardeceres. El largo Malecón se encarga de juntar el casco antiguo, lleno de casonas y plazas, con el Nuevo Mazatlán, un moderno desarrollo turístico donde no faltan hoteles, marina y campo de golf.

With a neoclassical architecture, the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Resort & Spa (pueblobonito.com) is ideal for weddings. Their wedding team takes care of everything, and also helps you plan sunset cruises or bonfires on the beach to spend time with your guests. Located on Playa Brujas, the Hotel Riu Emerald Bay (riu.com) is an all-inclusive hotel with three pools.

The wedding ceremonies here are always on the beach. Among the packages they offer, the “Caprice” is the most complete. Very close to the Marina Mazatlán Golf Course, is the hotel Crowne Plaza Mazatlán (mazatlancp.com). The wedding celebrations that take place here are for up to 250 people. Not too far away, on an islet surrounded by yachts and sailboats, lies Isla Mazatlán Golden Resort (islamazatlan.com). You can arrive there by land or sea, and even bring your own boat and dock it in front of the villa where you stay. Their garden is perfect for banquets, either in the afternoon with winding palm trees or at night with the lights of the marina.

Overlooking the marina, El Cid Marina Beach (elcid.com) has a privileged location. Their boats are ready to take you fishing or on a trip to explore the nearby islands. Your ceremony on this place may be aboard a catamaran and the party in the garden of their beach club. In the Golden Zone are a couple of hotels to consider. The first one is the Ramada Resort Mazatlán (hotelramadamazatlan.mx), a hotel with white beds and the sun coming through the windows.

In their terrace overlooking the ocean, banquets for 200 people are held. In its own right, the Emporio Mazatlán hotel (emporiohotels. com) features 133 rooms with aromatherapy and balconies overlooking the sea. Ask for their Vivaldi terrace, where you can celebrate your wedding with 120 guests. If you prefer a smaller wedding, consider the boutique hotel Casa Lucila (casalucila.com). It is located in a restored 19th century mansion on Paseo Olas Altas, a few steps from downtown. It has eight rooms, a spa and a restaurant where you will taste the best of the Sinaloa cuisine.

Get on a “pulmonía”, a traditional open taxi in Mazatlán. It’s a fun way to get around the Malecón (boardwalk) and move between the Marina Mazatlán, the Golden Zone and Old Mazatlán, where you will find the amazing Cathedral.

4 Walk at night through the Plazuela Machado surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Then get a seat in one of the outdoor tables of Pedro y Lola, a bistro serving regional cuisine with international touches.

4 Get a tour to explore the three islands that rise from the coast: Venados Island, Pájaros Island and Lobos Island. During the trip you can snorkel and practice kayak.

At 23 miles north of Mazatlán is El Quelite, a town of cobbled streets and rural atmosphere. Here, in the El Mesón de los Laureanos restaurant (elmesondeloslaureanos. com) you could offer a different feast for 150 guests. 03. Puerto Vallarta Located on the beachfront of Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta is a town of sunsets. The best way to contemplate them is to take a walk along the long boardwalk adorned with sculptures. To the north lies Marina Vallarta and the hotel zone, where you will spend a lot of time if you choose one of their resorts for your wedding. But do not forget to visit Old Vallarta, a place with cobbled streets and red tile roofs gravitating around the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.

Situado frente al mar, en la Bahía de Banderas, Puerto Vallarta es un pueblo de atardeceres. Para mirarlos, lo mejor es dar un paseo por el largo Malecón adornado con estatuas. Al norte queda Marina Vallarta y la zona hotelera, donde seguro vas a pasar mucho tiempo si eliges algún resort para tu boda. Pero no dejes de visitar el Viejo Vallarta, con calles empedradas y techos de teja roja gravitando alrededor de la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.

One option to plan your wedding is The Westin Resort & Spa (starwoodhotels.com), where your party can be under the sun, the stars, or in an indoor venue for 400 guests. Grand Miramar (grandmiramar.com) is a hotel with 80 balcony suites with bougainvilleas hanging from them. There is room for 200 guests in its terrace with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Casa Velas (hotelcasavelas.com.mx) has wedding packages as extensive as you want: ranging from the bouquet and cake, to a romantic breakfast in bed. If you get married in the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta resort (puertovallarta.ziva.hyatt. com), you can come back the following year with a complimentary anniversary package.

For a small and secluded celebration, Villa Azalea (villaazalea. com.mx) is the ideal hotel. It is located 25 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. There is no ocean to look at through the windows but there is plenty of vegetation. In its gardens you can hold events for up to 200 guests. You might want to consider a restaurant and not a hotel to organize your banquet. Look for the legendary Café des Artistes (cafedesartistes.com), founded by Chef Thierry Blouet, on Puerto Vallarta’s boardwalk. In its tables, your 120 guests will only enjoy delicacies. La Leche (lalecherestaurant.com) is Chef Alfonso Cadena’s kingdom. Decorated in white, with a capacity for 200 people, the local products dictate the pattern of the menu that he reinvents daily. Le Kliff (lekliff.com), a restaurant serving international cuisine, features a terrace to celebrate ceremonies and a special suite for the bride to get ready for the wedding.

Admire the boldness of the famous divers who jump off a 115 4 feet high cliff. The place to see them is La Quebrada, a few steps from downtown. At night, the divers jump with flaming torches.

4 Visit the Historical Museum of Acapulco “Fort of San Diego”.

It is a 17th century building designed to defend the harbor from pirate attacks. Nowadays, archaeological findings from the surrounding areas are exhibited there, as well as nautical instruments and objects that show the trade that New Spain held with the East.

If you are thinking of a wedding of over 100 guests, both the Presidente InterContinental Mérida (presidenteicmerida.com) and the Hotel Misión Mérida (hotelesmision.com. mx) have very large rooms and offer complete wedding packages.

Mansión Mérida on the Park (mansionmerida.com) and The Villa Mérida Hotel (villameridahotel.com) are located in amazing 19th century mansions. If you choose either of both, you´ll have a party in a luxury location.

For a more discreet wedding with fewer guests, you can pick a boutique hotel. Instead of a banquet, there would be canapes, but you would have that intimate atmosphere that you’re looking for.

If so, Casa Lecanda (casalecanda.com), Rosas & Xocolate (rosasandxocolate.com) and Casa de las Palomas (casadelaspalomas. com.mx) are excellent choices. Since they have few rooms, you might be asked to rent them all—you may like the idea.

The Yucatecan cuisine is extraordinary. You have to try the famous cochinita pibil (a pit-smoked pork in achiote marinade) and the lime soup. You can also visit the Néctar restaurant (nectar- merida.com.mx) and try the culinary delights of Chef Roberto Solís.
