Easy | 0.5 Miles
Experience the serene beauty of the small lake below the Orange Bubble by following the Alpine Lake Trail from Red Pine Lodge. This family-friendly trail offers a short, gentle ascent, ideal for young children or anyone seeking stunning views with minimal exertion.
Easy/Intermediate | 3.85 Miles
For a light workout with less vertical ascent, ride the Red Pine Gondola up to Red Pine Lodge and descend via the Mid-Mountain Trail. Connect to Holly’s Trail or Ricochet for shaded paths on warm days, panoramic valley and mountain vistas, and the occasional moose encounter.
Intermediate | 9 Miles
Embark on a peaceful hike up Canyons Resort on Holly’s Trail. Traverse through Aspen groves and ski runs, encountering gentle streams in the early season. As you ascend above Sun Peak Lodge, reach Alpine Lake, a snow-making pond near the top of the Orange Bubble lift, where you can fish for Tiger Trout.
Opt to take the Red Pine Gondola back down from the Red Pine Lodge to spare your knees and halve the total mileage.
Expert | 12.5 Miles
For those looking for a very challenging hike or mountain bike ride, try Wasatch Crest. This hike offers almost 1,000 feet of elevation gain across 12.5 miles. The trail, which is an out-and-back trail, takes you from the Canyons, over Nintey-Nine 90, to the Park City side of Park City Mountain Resort. On average, hikers take 8.5 hours to complete the hike, so plan to start your day early and bring plenty of food, water, and sunscreen on this hike.
This trail travels through potential avalanche terrain. Before you go, be sure to check the daily avalanche forecast at UtahAvalancheCenter.org.
