Drive the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, stopping at scenic overlooks and campgrounds like Trial Lake or Washington Lake, offering easy access to trailheads and alpine lakes.

Located near Kamas, the Slate Creek Trail is an intermediate-level mountain biking trail offering a 5.65-mile clockwise loop through tall stands of ponderosa pines, white fir and groves of aspens. This well-maintained trail features a mix of smooth climbs and flowing descents, with intermediate-level downhill sections that include berms and jumps. It’s best suited for riders with some experience, as the trail can be challenging for beginners or young kids.
