Community Advisory Board Meeting Tuesday, October 24, 2017 – 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ron and Linda Yanke Family Research Park 220 E. ***************** Call to Order – Tom Michael Tom Michael called the Boise State Public Radio (BSPR) Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting to order at 12:12 p.m. Approval of July 2017 Meeting Minutes – Tom Michael Laurie Ahern made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Shihkar Sarin. The motion was passed unanimously. Board Leadership – Tom Michael • Confirm new Chair (David Lombardi) and Vice Chair (Vicki Lawson) for one year terms. Mitzi moved to approve this change in board leadership (which was proposed at the July 24, 2017 meeting), and Shakhar seconded. The motion passed. • Tom also thanked 4 members who had served on the CAB for 6 years and were attending their last meetingEmily Walton (not in attendance), Maria Trebby, Cornelia Sprung, and Kristin Mathews. New Staff Introduction- Tom Michael • Tom introduced Aimee Moran, the new Development Director. Aimee started with BSPR on October 23, 2017, and she shared a bit about her history and what appealed to her about working with BSPR. General Manager Update – Tom Michael • Tom gave a brief financial update, and discussed the programming changes that took effect in early October (namely, ending Car Talk reruns and acquiring Planet Money/How I Built This, Hidden Brain, and It’s Been a Minute with Sam Sanders. 1|Page
