***************** Call to Order – David Lombardi Board Chair David Lombardi called the Boise State Public Radio (BSPR) Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting to order at 12:05 p.m. Approval of January 23, 2018 Meeting Minutes – David Lombardi Dede Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes; seconded by Vicki Lawson. The vote was a unanimous “yes”, but only 11 members of the Board were present (does not constitute a quorum). The group did not initially meet the minimum for a quorum; however, Andy Huang was attending the meeting as a community member interested in joining the Board. To meet the minimum threshold, Andy was activated as a Board member on the spot. This allowed the vote to pass (needing a minimum of 12 members, per the Bylaws). Executive Committee Meeting Update – David Lombardi Expansion of the Board – David Lombardi The Board discussed how to best expand the Board and how to meet other minimums as stated in the Bylaws. The nominating committee (led by Vicki Lawson and Teresa Yragui) is active. There was also discussion of board diversity, board financial commitments, and advocacy. Digital Ambassador Discussion – Frankie Barnhill Frankie, representing the newsroom, spoke to the Board about opportunities to be a Digital Ambassador for Boise State Public Radio. This position includes sharing stories of interest on different social media platforms, and engaging in lively discussion in the comments section of the website or various social media platforms. More information can be found by reaching out to Frankie, or the newsroom in general. 1|Page
