Enter Anthony Walters, the talented utility player for the Boise Hawks, who recently made a successful switch from his usual infield roles. With a strong work ethic and a burning desire to help his team succeed, Walters is quickly becoming a key player in the Hawks’ lineup.
For Walters, the transition to the outfield was a new and exciting endeavor. In the past series, he stepped up to the plate as an outfielder, displaying his versatility and dedication to the team’s success. Despite it being his first time playing in the outfield, Walters embraced the opportunity with open arms, ready to make a positive impact and contribute to his team’s victories.
Hailing from Whittier, California, Walters brings a strong baseball background to the Boise Hawks. Walters hit a walk-off RBI double against the Idaho Falls Chukars in the second game of the season. He also recorded the first Hawks home run at Memorial Stadium in the regular season against the Ogden Raptors.
According to Walters, during the at-bat of his homer at home he approached it as a typical 1-2 count situation. He also said it was helpful that Raptors pitcher Brock Gilliam threw him four consecutive fastballs.
So far in this season, Walters has a batting average of .385 and an impressive OPS of .967. His 15 hits, including three doubles and a home run, have added significant power and excitement to the Hawks’ lineup. As Walters continues to thrive in his newfound outfield position, his impact on the Boise Hawks cannot be overstated.
