Wintering and Bull Development

All bulls going back to Windy Hill Livestock must be insured. We would prefer to winter the bulls for the buyers and we will supply that at no additional cost. This will allow us to properly develop them on the same ration with longevity in mind to benefit you the customer.

Delivery

Free delivery to central points near your ranch in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba in spring following the sale. All other points will be cost shared.

Breeder Guarantee

Windy Hill Livestock guarantees our bulls to be sound, fertile and reproductive in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Canadian Angus & Simmental Association for the first breeding season. Claims must be made

by September 1st of year of purchase. If a problem occurs, please contact Mike immediately and we will provide a suitable replacement, if available, or a sale credit. This guarantee does not cover death, injury or mismanagement. Our goal is to have you satisfied with your Windy Hill bull.

Sight Unseen

We would love to have you with us; however we do understand how busy things can get around the ranch. Our sight unseen program is simple. Call Mike in advance and we will discuss your needs, cowherd, goals, budget and which bull or bulls will work best for you. Bids are handled in confidence with SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or you don’t own them.

Hello and welcome to our annual Bull and Female Sale. This event comes with great excitement and anticipation. We will be introducing a few new concepts here at Windy Hill; starting with a 2 year old bull program showcasing registered half blood Simmental Bulls and Angus Bulls.

These 2 year bulls have been managed to get the buyer the best value for their dollar. They have spent a high percentage of their life on native grass, keeping longevity in mind. These bulls will go out and have the ability and durability to cover a lot of females in a breeding season.

As well I will be offering my entire bred heifer pen. This pen of cattle will again showcase registered half blood Simmental females and Angus females. All females are carrying exciting early services that will add value and uniqueness. We have also gathered up a group of commercial bred heifers from some great operations that will be an asset to any operation.

Lastly, my entire offering has been sire and parent verified through DNA testing; as well every animal in the Simmental offering has been tested and is Homo Black and Homo Polled. We have taken one more step; every animal including commercial females have been ear notched and are free of BVD PI carriers.

Every purebred in the sale is also parentage verified and tested homozygous polled and homozygous black, along with being BVD tested clean. Windy Hill has continually gone the extra mile to take as much guess work out of it for the customer and have their best interest in mind.

The 80 commercial heifers on offer are very impressive to say the least. They come from programs that concentrate on maternal power and low input/high production cattle. You will have to travel thousands of miles to find females as strong as this group on offer.

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, and wire transfers, payable at par at the sale location unless satisfactory payment arrangements have been made prior to the sale with seller, buyer and Bohrson Marketing Services.

Bohrson Marketing Services reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Payment in full must be made before cattle can be released and shipped. Exchange rates will be announced sale day and the sale will be held in Canadian funds.

BIDDING: All animals to sell through the sale must be sold by auction with each animal selling to the highest bidder.

Private sales will not be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

DISPUTES: In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid and the auctioneer’s decision will be final.

LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at the their own risk.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: A registration certificate issued by the applicable breed association and a certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after final payment has been made.

PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All bred females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian, who has provided the seller with an estimated length of gestation. The estimated gestation period shall be used only as a guideline to calving and is not a guarantee of actual service. Bohrson Marketing Services will provide supplement sheets with breeding services provided for the purchaser.

HEALTH: All sale animals have met all necessary health requirements and it is the buyer’s responsibility and expense to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. BREEDING GUARANTEE: We will develop the bulls properly and semen test them prior to delivery/pick-up.
