2018 has been a weather “nightmare” for most cattlemen in Western Canada. Early season drought, record low hay production and then 6 weeks of cold/damp/snow through September and up to mid October but then we got 2+ weeks of great weather. The cattle markets remain steady and the early purebred sales are once again showing that elite genetics are in high demand.

Our 2018 Western Select line-up welcomes several new consignors offering some high quality females that certainly enhance the sale offering.

Fernando is an exciting bull prospect we feel has the potential to leave his mark on some highly marketable progeny. We like to think when a calf Is your best as a baby and holds his position at the top through the summer and fall he isn’t a fluke. 704F has always been our top calf, for his quick growth and maturing ability. He is super long, stout, hairy, docile, smooth made, sound on the move, correctly structured, good footed, nice fronted and simply complete. Credentials has been producing some top progeny in Canada including the reserve National Champion bull for B Bar Cattle in 2017.

Fernando is a direct son of the many times champion, Young & Restless; who produced the 2017 Reserve Champion Agribition bull Electric Impact. Young & Restless is now gone and although her sons and daughters will carry on her legacy there won’t be many direct sons ever sell. 704F shows impressive scrotal development and ADG. We plan to use him in our AI program in our herd, and we will use him on heifers.

She is a low maintenance female, that is deep and soggy and never visits the hoof trimmer. She has always done her job of keeping the bills paid for many years. The Wallflower X Diesel progeny are awesome! 8F is right off the top of the heifer calves. We feel she puts together, most completely, what we were hoping this mating would produce.
