Welcome to the 10th Annual WD Bull Sale! This year we are referring to our bull offering as the X Factor Group because almost half of our bulls have been sired by either a X Cow or a X Bull. We are taking this as an excellent sign as we all want our bulls to have that “X Factor” to add to your herd.

Our bulls have been sired by: Redge, Edge, Best Western, Tom Cat, Crossfire, Ultimatum, Hot Topic, and Straight-Up. These bulls come from functional mama cows because that is where we believe a program has to start. Cows with good udders, excellent temperments and cows that are structurally sound. We also have eight heifers on offer.

Review our offering with confidence because we believe in quality and performance and that is what we want to offer our customer. Lots 1-4 are all sired by R Plus Redge and he has not only proven himself to be a bull maker he has also proven he can make productive females. We lost Redge this fall but he certainly left his trademark in our herd. Take a look at these Redge sons to assist you in moving your purebred or commercial herd forward.

WFL 79Z is following in his maternal brother’s footsteps WFL Invasion 32Y who was purchased last year be Greenview Farms. We were able to use Invasion last year so we are excited to see his calves that will be hitting the ground soon. These brothers are very similar in their make-up. 79Z has length of spine, depth, width, is dark red, smooth shouldered and is very correct in his structure.

Westway Farms This fella has packed some punch from the get go and he is weaned off the heaviest this fall at 1110lbs. He is a thick made performance bull with some length his through his development he has reminded us of the WFL Identity bull that sold in our 2011 sale. Westway Farms Lots 5,6, and 7 are bulls whose Mama’s are first calving Redge daughters and whose sire is WTW Best Western 5X and this breeding clicked. Best Western came from Will’s herd and he was a high seller at our 2011 Sale going to Kopp Farms. At Checkers 2012 we sold a Redge x Best Western heifer to Bar Water Hauling Services, Sask for $10,250. These boys are the right type so please check them out.

ANDI 6Z comes from Andie’s herd and he goes back to a cow Andie purchased from Deeg’s in the 2006 WD Sale. This bull is one of the farm favorites and we like him for his overall completeness. He is wide from behind and over the top and reminds us a lot of his sire when he was this age. We are very pleased with Best Western’s calves and ANDI 6Z is certainly worth looking at.

WFL 18Z is Andie’s favorite black bull and you can’t help but admire his balance and stoutness. His dam WFL 7030T sold a son to Diamond V Cattle in 2010.

Westway Farms This is another Crossfire son and we really like WFL 27Z for his overall smoothness. He has a half blaze which he gets from Crossfire and we love to see this in his calves.

Welcome to our 10th annual bull sale! Thank you to everyone who has bought, bid on, or expressed an interest in our cattle in the past.Your support of our program is very much appreciated and never taken for granted.

How things can change in ten years! When we approached The Hadway’s about a joint bull sale in 2003 things could not have been more uncertain for the cattle business and nobody could tell what the future would hold. One thing we were certain of was, that like many of our customers, we were in it for the long haul and we are glad we stuck it out.

Good times are here and things look solid for the future for primary producers in agriculture. After the decision to raise Simmental cattle was made 42 years ago it’s an exciting time to still be with it today!

Once again this year we feel we have an exceptional group of bulls on offer. We have both black and red bulls that can give you growth, performance, maternal strength, and calving ease. There are big power bulls as well as calving ease sires in this group. The bulls are selected for structural correctness, eye appeal, hair, scrotal development, and disposition. They are developed on a soy pellet, barley silage and cut hay TMR ration that is designed to grow them not finish them.

As always our cattle are on a year round herd health program and have had all necessary vaccinations and treatments – also all bulls have been double vaccinated with Fusoguard foot rot vaccine. In short we have done all we can to ensure we are offering a reliable and long lasting product. If the buyer wishes we will take your bull(s) home for later delivery, usually starting in April. Insurance is recommended but not mandatory for this service, just be aware that the buyer assumes all risks on the bulls while at Deeg Simmental. There is no charge for the later delivery service.

We will also have 10 heifers on offer that are a representative sample of our breeding program. We are confident they will go on to be very productive females. Thank you in advance for your interest and if we can answer any questions please call or better yet feel free to stop by the farm.

He is a mile long with a massive hip, huge middle and a perfect blaze on him that is so eye catching. His mother fits the mold Mumbo put in his females. Great footed, awesome udders, moderate framed and hairy. RDD 92W has an impressive track record for this bull only being her second calf. Her first calf was an RF Chore Boy daughter that we sold as a bred heifer through the first Friday Night Lights sale in December, bringing $11,500 to Rancier Farms at Killam.

Deeg Simmentals 63Z is a tank! From his huge rear quarter to the explosive rib shape this calf is a powerhouse. With all the power this calf possesses he has maintained a great structure and smooth front end. His mother has sent two high selling bulls through the sale going to Mountain View Colony and WA Ranches. MDR 12T has a disposition second to none, very structurally correct and a ton of middle. A cow that we would love to have more of!

Deeg Simmentals Muirhead Bull 60X is long bodied, clean fronted, and masculine. As a yearling he bred 35 cows, which is more than impressive for a young bull. He has thrown every trait we saw in him and liked about him into his calf crop. Most of his offspring have an extra rib, good hair coat and an eye appeal. 65Z is a prime example of what 60X can do. He is massive in depth, hip and a top that moves nicely down into great rib expression. His dam is a beautiful female we purchased out of the D Bar C dispersal and is doing a great job at our place. She is well balanced and great uddered.

Deeg Simmentals This bull has been one of the most impressive 60X sons from an early age. He has been able to maintain a crazy amount of performance all the way through and has shown no signs of stopping yet. He is the longest bodied bull in the pen and has a disposition we strive for. His dam is a beautiful Mumbo Daughter that is hard to fault. She has a great udder and is a real nice frame size. Like all Mumbo’s she has a great foot under her and with 60X having a great foot himself, these calves should be real good footed. This is one impressive individual! He exudes everything we look for when buying herd bulls. He is masculine, good footed, showing good testicle development, large topped and quartered. His dam has sent two bulls through the sale to Dave Tanner and to Berry Creek Colony, with one daughter in herd that is a great female as well. 4S is a solid made female with a great udder and a very deep body. We are very high on this bull and feel that he will work anywhere.
