Terms of Sale & In-Herd Semen Interest All bulls sell under the standard terms and conditions as set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association, copies will be available on sale day. All bulls sell in their entirety but Westway/Deeg reserves the right to collect semen on any bull that is offered in the sale for in herd use only. This is at Westway/Deeg’s cost and the buyer’s convenience.

Delivery and Board At the buyer’s risk and for a nominal fee, board and delivery can be arranged with the consignor. Insurance is recommended for all the lots sold and will be available at the sale. Insurance is mandatory on all lots that are returning to the sellers farm for later delivery or pick-up.

REMEMBER: If you bring your trailer and take your bull(s) home sale day you receive $100.00 off of the purchase price of your bull(s).

The major sire groups that are represented are a direct result of their meticulous herd sire selection. Sires such as Redge, Strait Up, Wellington and Mumbo are bulls worthy to be leaders in any AI sire catalog, but both programs have kept them exclusive for themselves and in turn adds value to your purchasing power. The genetics represented are in many cases outcross to the mainstream bloodlines and have tons of predictable pedigrees to back them. The females are truly a set of big volumed, easy doing, maternal powerhouses that are from the top cut of their keeper pen.

Welcome to the Annual 2012 WD Bull Sale. This year marks our fifteenth year of selling Simmental Bulls and it is still as exciting as the first year!!

Customers are what makes the bull business rewarding and we thank all the cattle producers who have supported us over the years – it is very much appreciated!

The cattle market appears to be in a very optimistic position and Westway is geared up to bring you another great set of bulls. We have on offer 12 R Plus Redge sons and his sons were very well received at last year’s sale. We also have sons from R Plus Black Edge, Superior, LFE Crossfire, LFE Strait Up, LFE 335T and Wheatland 440P. We sold a Crossfire heifer at Checkers and she was a barn favourite selling to Meadow Acres & Dallas Kruger so we are really excited about his genetics and what they have to offer. We are also selling ten heifers at this year’s sale.

Welcome to the 9th edition of the WD bull sale. First let us thank everyone who has expressed an interest in or has supported our program. Your purchases are much appreciated and never taken for granted.

As everyone is aware the price of all classes of cattle has rebounded and shows no signs of stopping. It doesn’t take too many fingers to count how many times both cattle and grain have been good at the same time. So if “Ag” is what you do, you have to be as excited as we are. With that being said we think that there is no better time than now to invest in either a cow bull or a heifer bull that will give you some extra pounds that will translate into more money at weaning. The old Simmental slogan: “when they weigh more they pay more” has never been truer.

We feel we have an excellent set of bulls this year both red and black. A great selection of cow bulls and a very good group of heifer bulls sired by Shear Force and Gunner, the bulls we use on our own heifers with NO calving problems. Our bulls are bred and fed with our commercial customers in mind. We stand behind what we sell and our bulls have always been affordable. As usual we will take the bulls home after the sale for later delivery and for those who do not want insure their bulls, no problem but it is at purchasers risk. All our bulls have had all appropriate shots and Ivomec, plus they have been double vaccinated for foot rot and are boosted again before delivery. So you can buy with confidence.

8M has done it again with 24Y! She has been an incredible cow around this place. Her first calf we retained as a herd bull named JDD Titan 22P and he has many daughters and granddaughters in herd. This is the fourth top end bull she has sent to this bull sale. 24Y is one of the thickest Mumbo bulls in the pen. His thickness carries down throughout his whole body and demands a second look sale day. 8M has sons at Fawn Hill Farms, Lone Spruce and S&G Kellsey.

This is 33S’s third MumboJumbo calf and they have all been standouts. Her first Mumbo is retained in herd and is the dam of RDD 1Y in this sale. Her second Mumbo was sold in Checkers last fall going to Muirhead’s and now this guy. He fits the mould and is another standout from 33S. This long bodied, smooth shouldered calf should go on to sire predictable calves with growth and performance.

This calf came in dam from an excellent heifer we purchased from the D-C dispersal. She is moderate framed, huge middle with an excellent udder. 39Y is as soggy a bull as there is in the pen; super deep flanked, loads of middle and loads of hair. A very complete individual.

This dark red calf is a great combination between a JDD Titan 22P female and Wellington. The Titan females are beautiful females that are structurally correct, dark red, deep bodied, and great uddered. RDD 136U is no different and she passed her great traits down to this calf. He should sire females with great udders and sons should be high performing like he is. As with all the Wellington calves he has above average scrotal development.

Heifer bull. This Shear Force son is a mile long, smooth shouldered, with a very large rear quarter. Shear Force is the no miss bull we use on heifers.
