We would like to welcome all to join us for our Annual Bull Sale on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Ranch. We are so grateful for your interest and humbled by the support we have received from our loyal customers, friends and family. Our focus remains the same here; we are committed to producing high quality, affordable genetics that will positively influence the bottom line for the commercial cattleman. This program does not follow fads or new trends, but rather continues to stack generations of proven and built-on genetics that are very predictable and work in all environments. Our goal is to provide you with bulls that produce high performing steers and females with strong maternal traits. These are what keep us all in business and proud of our cowherds. Nothing is more important and rewarding than to hear customer feedback on the bulls, their progeny, replacements over the years, and what we need to do next to work together and both continue building!

We understand improving quality is a never-ending journey and have been working very hard the last few years on expanding our Red Angus Gene Pool by implementing handpicked high quality Black Angus genetics. Countless miles have been spent touring herds in North America learning which bulls would infuse the positive traits we hold dear and expand the genetic makeup of our cowherd and bull pens. We truly believe that the effort and expense has come to fruition and is very evident in our offering this year.

The 2023 sale line up has us more excited than ever as there are highlights from front to back! We are proud to bring you the first set of Red President sons(out of three different paternal sires), Knockin’ Boots sons, Shameless sons, Bloodline sons as well as big, impressive groups of past favorites - Township, Headliner and Dominion. Multiple progeny sell out of many top donors including a once in a life time opportunity to acquire a Rosebud 157C son as we have eight on offer and a full sibling to her as well!

The feeder market is starting to gain some much-appreciated momentum and much of the prairies have been blessed with a decent amount of winter moisture which feels like a very positive start to 2023. We are excited about the future of the cattle industry and always enjoy a visit with fellow cattlemen and woman. Like always we will let the bulls speak for themselves and encourage everyone to come out to the ranch ahead of time for a viewing of the bulls in their large pens, and most importantly we want you to see the cows behind them. EPDs listed in this catalogue for Red Angus animals are the BOLT EPDs, current to February 2023. BOLT is the genetic evaluation system used by the Red Angus Association of America. These are the EPDs that these cattle would have if they were in the RAAA herdbook.

A bull that took the world by storm in 2021 as we brought SAV President to the red division with the legendary, herd-leading Anexa 333N. 64H has about as much length, bone and pin width that you can have in a Herdsire who is consistently making low birth progeny both here and at Rhodes. A true anomaly and blessing. One of the best footed bulls you’ll find anywhere with one of the most proven, predictable pedigrees. His reliable calving ease, and unmatched maternal component, make him multi dimensional and opens up many breeding opportunities! The lead off $130,000 phenom from many folks’ favourite flushes in Red Angus history. The US semen rights were sold almost immediately following the 2020 sale as Rhodes Red Angus and Twedt Red Angus, the contending bidders, locked them up. A standout from birth, Township was a calf I’ll personally never forget. Day one favourites tend to peak early or let off the gas at some point but not 17G. This vigorous, strong topped, cherry red, allstar displayed tremendous Herd Bull character that all admired, stamped by his incredible skull shape and presence. Sons are easy to pick out as they exploit the same presence, muscle patterns and are just as deep flanked. Milking daughters have arrived and already have some of the biggest calves beside them.
