e lcome to our 32nd Annual Bull & Female Sale. We are once again excited to host you at the ranch! Thank you so very much to everyone that showed up and supported the sale last year, making the move home a seamless transition.

Most of you are very familiar with our program and we appreciate your years of loyalty. We are a family run operation with the 4th generation actively involved in the day to day. 2022 marks 50 years in the purebred Simmental business for Sunny Valley, something we are very proud of. We have built a strong cowherd around cow families that have proven themselves in our operation and around the industry. We continue to heavily use embryo transplant to maximize those top cows, as we implant 50+ embryos annually. We are also constantly on the search for fresh genetics to incorporate into our herd that will help us provide a better product for our customers. We live and breathe the cattle business 24/7/365 and can’t imagine doing anything else!

The offering for 2022 is one of that we feel can only be summed up as a “must see”. Right from the top to bottom of the bull pen is packed with stout, hairy beef bulls sired by industry leading sires and out of our top cow families. Most of these elite sires were either bred and raised right here at SVS or walk our pastures. We are very proud of the job that these bulls are doing within the industry. There truly is something for everyone in this set of bulls and we would be proud to tour you through them anytime leading up to the sale. The 9 heifers on offer are straight out of the replacement pen. The 2021 calf crop ran nearly 70% heifer calves, which allowed us to dig deeper than ever before.

Delivery Options: Option 1 - $50 off per lot if picked up sale day Option 2 - Free delivery to central points in Saskatchewan, Alberta & Manitoba as soon as possible after the sale, at the seller’s convenience. In most cases we will be able to delivery directly to your yard, but do ask for your cooperation if needed.

Option 3 - Bulls may be left at the ranch free of charge for delivery beginning April 1 or pickup arrangements can be made. All bulls staying at the ranch after sale day must be insured.

Semen Collection: Sunny Valley reserves the right to collect semen on any bull in the sale for in herd use only. Semen will be collected at the seller’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.

Health & Fertility: All bulls will be semen tested and sell fully guaranteed. Bulls and females are on a full vaccination program that includes. Inforce 3 (at birth), Pyramid 4 with Presponse (spring & fall), Tasvax 8 (spring & fall), Ivomec (Oct & Jan). Bulls are also double vaccinated with fusoguard for footrot.

US Buyers: Sunny Valley will do the necessary health testing for export. Trucking arrangements will be made and cost will be the responsibility of the purchaser.

The SVS cowherd is as solid a group of mature females as you will come across in your travels. Their bull battery, including AI sires, must fit for today and tomorrow’s marketplace.

The 2022 sale offering is markedly noteworthy! Six fullblood Freedom and Raptor sons are sound, long sided and high quality individuals The black bulls are easily the deepest set of blacks that SVS has ever offered. They keep coming, one after another, with profile, volume and tons of hair. The highlight pen is always the “reds” with a recognizable breed leading pedigrees including Bond, Walks, Betts, Tycoon, Roosevelt. Our red list gets pretty long with herd bull candidates that are deep made, sure footed and with muscle shape.

Superior temperament is prevalent through the entire offering.

With the high percentage of heifer births at SVS through the last few years, they will continue to offer replacement female opportunities.

They are deep sided soggy beef bulls, that are the kind we like. 31J comes from a cow that has produced the good one’s year after year. She is a direct daughter of the original Becky cow. Homo Polled. SVS Brewster 55J is the true calving ease bull in the Bond sire group. His moderate birth weight and smooth build allow us to recommend him for the heifer pen with confidence. Homo Polled. This is the first group of sons to sell off our herdsire Boundary Strut. Strut did everything he was asked. He calved exceptionally well in the heifer pen and cleaned up on a few cows the first year. 69J is a dark red calving ease bull, that will do pretty much the same job as his sire. 69J’s dam was 12 years old when he was born and produced 11 January calves in a row. 6 females one which we sold to Maxwell Simmentals, the rest were retained in herd, and 5 bulls into some top herds. He started out at just 88 lbs. out of a first calf heifer and performed quite well with an 867 adjusted weaning and 1456 yearling weight.

His calving ease EPD is 16.3 which is in the top 1 % of the breed and birth weight EPD is in the top 5%. 66J comes from Full Fleck genetics on the bottom side being out of the same cow family as Stanton 48J. Page 10

The kind of cow you wish you had a whole herd of. 85J has that sought after blaze face, is really good haired and is a moderate stout made bull.

Keep in mind when analyzing 85J that he is just a middle of February bull. He is going to calve really well and will probably work best on second calvers or larger framed heifers.

The Sunny Valley Simmental program has greatly impacted the Simmental seedstock industry and provided exceptional bulls to the commercial cattleman for many years. The 32nd Annual Bull & Female Sale offering is very impressive, and the quality runs deep.

The Sunny Valley cowherd utilizes an organic mineral package throughout the entire year, which is crucial to the overall health and immunity of the sale bulls on offer. The program prioritizes harvesting high-quality hay every year for the bulls to consume throughout the development stage. The bulls are limit fed a high protein pellet to promote lean muscle growth and prioritize longevity. The diet also contains a chelated mineral package to strengthen the bull's immune system and complement their growth patterns. The bull diet and nutrition of the cowherd are monitored year-round to ensure the animals' overall health flourishes in the environmental and seasonal conditions.
