This sale was built on the heavy emphasis of the “cow power” behind the cattle on offer and we feel the 2023 offering may be as stout as ever before. Many half, 3/4 and even full sib ET’s will be made availble stemming from some of the most potent and productive donor dams and elite sires. We feel this just adds to the predictability when you can analyze so many closely related animals and see the consistency and quality throughout.

The Fullblood section has seen many steps forward over the years at SimPower. Many polled, horned full fleck and fullblood cattle are on offer with many exciting pedigrees both new and fresh and proven and predictable. We know you will be impressed with both the bred cattle and the fancy open heifers in this section.

The red and black purebreds have been the bread and butter of the SimPower Sale and they are the type and kind you will be amazed with on how consitent they all are on type, no matter which consignor they came from. We start this year’s sale offering with an absolute tank of a heifer. 1002J is a stylish and smooth made heifer with incredible length. She is solid footed and is setting up a perfect udder, a proven trait of all Kalibre progeny.

This will be one of our last Kalibre offerings as he now calls Pine Creek Simmentals his home. This is one of only two daughters ever produced

by FGAF Lady Siska as this cow family is known for their powerful bull making abilities with all her progeny’s weaning weights averaging 950lbs.

1002J’s maternal sister also happens to be one of Darryl Snider’s favourite cows in our herd and we contemplated long and hard about selling 1002J as she really should be donor material. Pedigree alone says this female will work as her dam happens to be a ¾ sibling to the dam of BLL Rumble. A couple of years ago, we stepped outside our usual “Full Fleckvieh” box and bought a fullblood bull. SBV Rambo 708G is producing the type of females our program was craving.

Soggy, hairy, and deep bodied are just some of the traits that describe his offspring. The consistency as well as the demeanor of all the Rambo calves make him an incredible asset not to mention his ease of calving for being as powerful as he is. He seems to be a bull producer; therefore, we have had minimal heifers but let me tell you, these might be some of the best females we’ve raised. We may regret this decision, but we’ve only kept one Rambo female for ourselves, and are offering the other two.

205K is a more moderate framed, easy fleshing female who is the maternal sister to our high selling female selling last year to Newton Creek Simmentals. You’ll note that most of our sale heifers are born in December, making 205K the second youngest offering in the string. However, her pedigree has performance written all over it. Spruceview Acres have kept numerous maternal siblings to the dam of 205K, all of which are feminine fronted, with sound feet, good udders, and admirable docility. Arguably the sleeper in the pen, 205K is pear shaped with a barreled middle and no doubt will produce deep bodied bull calves. Her early breeding to our new Battle Cry heifer bull, Black Gold Kraken, will start her track record off right.

No question this is the biggest hipped, largest framed female on offer.

1003J is just sheer power and performance in a polled package. Exclusive’s speciality was his females, producing one of Mark Land & Cattle’s best herd matrons, SBV 409F aka “Polly”. Take note of the cow family behind 1003J, as she is star studded. Her grand dam SBV 793A, a Friday Night Lights participant, sold for $30,000 and has become a top producing donor cow with one of her daughters selling at last year’s edition of FNL for $35,000. 1003J’s dam is a young one but already has a son successfully working in the herd of Glubish Land & Cattle. Longevity is bred into this female with her proven genetic package and profound maternal strength.

Our herd is still quite young but has a few tried and true rockstars, one of which happens to be the grand dam of 1026J. Unfortunately, when our herd moved from BC, the transition was incredibly hard, leaving us with only a dozen or so left from the “original 30.” CKCW 564F is a full sibling to Starwest Pol Eagle Eye who we ran for several years with great success.

We’ve retained several Eagle Eye and Spitfire daughters in our herd and anything going back to Spitfire is as good as it gets, still making me believe that he is one of the best kept secrets of the industry. You want to talk about unbelievable udders, here’s your girl, as nothing can rival the udders of the Spitfire and Exclusive progeny. 564F will be a cow to follow in our program. Not only did she hit a home run with 1026J being her first calf, but she has a big barreled, pen topping bull calf this year that is as dark as the fullbloods get.

226K is a smooth polled, dark cherry red female who is backed by a very dependable, no miss cow family. 226K’s grand dam, Nossaterra Tasha 17X, is heavy hitter in the Ferme Gagnon program. Francis has done a fantastic job of being greedy with all the 17X progeny, selling only one of her females, which happens to be 095C. Not much guess work in this pedigree. A Spitfire daughter out of Petra 095C has been retained in our herd and another daughter was sold to Blazin J Simmentals, both with the picture-perfect udders that we strive to achieve. Bred to Black Gold Kraken, I would expect the calf of 226K to be an exact replica of her colour and style, giving her a great chance at becoming a quick ROI.

We are excited about the new heifer bull we purchased from MAVV Farms, and this mix could produce a good one. We will share the results of the HP test at sale time. This could be a female to add to the donor program to produce the next great polled herd sire!

Clearwater Kyra has been a favorite of mine all summer long; I’m not sure how she made the sale pen! Folks that know us here at Clearwater, know how we love to dabble in the older genetics. Take a look at the bottom side of this pedigree. We have been very happy with our Rigs calves and his daughters are turning out better than we had anticipated. Kyra is a heifer that should turn into a very productive and profitable cow.
