we will be happy to assist with delivery arrangements 2 Shades of Autumn Production & Prospect Sale
◆ from the bohrson marketing team ◆ Shades of Autumn has elevated into a sale that has great ROI for the breeders that have invested in years past. The Belsham family and their guest consignors annually offer the heart of their program to showcase the very best genetics that they can offer. In turn, the feedback from past buyers has been exceptional with the quality of cattle acquired and it should be one every progressive breeders shortlist to attend and enhance their program. Poplar Meadows is respected as one of the strongest cowherds in Canada and this year’s offering will undoubtedly be the deepest in quality to date. An outstanding set of open females with countless options complimented with a deep set of bred females and some exciting genetic lots establishes this as their very best offering to date. By surrounding themselves with good people with high quality cattle, the guest consignors in Blast, Red Moon, Marberly and Canyon Tree add depth of options and excellent females to be studied as they are the right kind. There is also a select group of prospect steers on offer to appease the Junior crowd and many of the past sale steers went on to win piles of ribbons and banners. The most beautiful sale that we attend every year is undoubtedly in Houston, BC as the landscape is breathtaking and the sale barn is one of the nicest in existence. We have been honoured to carry multiple orders for breeders in past sales and the results have been terrific but we do heavily encourage you to plan the trip to beautiful British Colombia to take in the awesome hospitality and cattle. We look forward to seeing you at Poplar Meadows for the annual Shades of Autumn event that will be sure to impress. Regards, the Bohrson Marketing team

◆ Monty, Tanya & Taylor Belsham ◆
Welcome to our 3rd annual sale. Last year we were blessed with our sweet baby Ella in September. The joy our grand daughters have brought is indescribable. I had my hip replaced shortly after the sale and felt no more pain immediately. Monty has had good news check ups this year as well. This past August we celebrated Alaina and Taylor’s marriage. We have again dug deep into our program to bring you a large group of top end cattle. We completely understand nobody really needs to buy another female but we feel we have on offer the type of functional, correct, genetically superior females who will go on to be great breeding pieces. You can always use a good one. We will have videos done shortly before the sale. The sale will be on DLMS for online purchases and we have several buyers representatives to assist you. Watch our Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest updates.

Blast Angus ◆ Brent & Lia Long ◆
We are happy to be a part of the 3rd annual Shades of Autumn Sale. Thanks to Tanya and Monty for hosting this sale! 2019 has been an eventful year-we welcomed the next generation into the Blast family with the birth of Addison on May 31st! Being a grandparent is so awesome and we are very lucky they live close by! I was also, very lucky to have our step granddaughter, Taylor, join 4-H as a Cloverbud and show her calf “Applejack” at the fair. I am looking forward to many more years of granddaughters, 4-H and cows! We are HUGE 4-H/Junior sponsors and were thrilled to have several 4-H/Jr. members show case our cattle at the Bulkley Valley Exhibition this year. The top light weight steer, 2nd place middle weight steer and Reserve Grand champion came from our place. The top heavy weight steer was sired by a Blast bull. There was some tough competition and 30 steers! We are very proud that a Blast steer has either been champion or reserve champion for 6 years in a row! The Champion 4-H 2 year old and calf as well as yearling heifer were Blast genetics too! These kids made us PROUD! We are selling 2 heifer calves and 2 steer prospects this year. The heifer calves and one steer calf are sired by our Peak Dot No Doubt 25D bull. These heifers have style and thickness. At the Peak Dot bull sale this past spring 62 No Doubt sons averaged $9550! These genetics are in demand! These calves are all halter broke and very quiet. We look forward to visiting with everyone on sale day and welcome you to stop by anytime to see the sale cattle. Thank you to all bidders and buyers! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Lot 42: A really nice heifer with ample natural thickness and a beautiful front end. She has a lot of eye appeal and is always showing off! Sired by Peak Dot No Doubt 25D. 25D’s first daughter sold last year in the Shades of Autumn sale to Nicole Groot, and placed 3rd at the BVX in August. A full brother to this heifer sold in our spring bull sale to Jim Haughton for $6250. Sixty two No Doubt bulls averaged $9550 at Peak Dot’s spring bull sale! The dam is a young Game Day cow with a great udder. A maternal sister to 10G is top producer- a sale heifer last year and Taylor’s show heifer this year. The grand dam is a gorgeous deep bodied cow we purchased from Gerlei Angus Ranch in Saskatchewan. This Blackbird line is proving to be one of the top lines on our place.

Welcome to another Shades of Autumn Sale. Big thank you to Poplar Meadows for hosting and investing in this sale. The facility is second to none in Canada. We are very happy to work with the other same minded consignors, Blast Angus, Marberly Angus and Canyon Tree Farms. This year Redmoon has three heifer calves to present. We feel any one of these heifers would be an asset to your herd. They are heifers we would purchase for ourselves. Excellent pedigrees and phenotype. All have been halter broke. We have made our selection carefully and are putting forward three females that we would be happy to keep in our herd. Please don’t hesitate to contact us on any of the females being presented. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

This beautiful, feminine heifer from a first calver did very well in a class of 16 heifer calves at the Nechako Valley Exhibition, placing second. She went on to compete against the yearling heifers and was named Reserve Junior Champion. With names like Red Terron Monopoly 84A, Red Ringstead Kargo 215U, and Red Northline Rev 341R in her pedigree, she will be one to look for on sale day. The Countess line of cows has produced consistently for our annual bull sale, many times topping our bull pen. Exceptional udder on the Dam, Red Moon Countess 33E. She is as solid as they come with good calving, milk, and growth EPDs.
Lot 45:
A good, solid, big middled heifer. Enough power without giving up that feminine appearance. Her sister was sold to Mountain Ash, Charles Dwinnel and Diane Fletcher in Quesnel. Dianne is reporting that the heifer is super quiet and looking good. The sire was our pick from W Sunrise Angus in their 2018 sale. Check her pedigree, it’s stacked with good feet and sound udders. Very balanced EPDs. Grand Dam 70B has produced two solid, sale topping bulls. Would be a good one to start your herd with.

addition to any herd. Another daughter from Red Sunrise Authentic 720E. Her dam was purchased in a dispersal sale and is a great addition in our herd. Dam has lots of volume, a good topline and great feet. With Mulberry, Authentic, and New Trend in the pedigree you can’t go wrong on this heifer. Good performance on her EPDs. She should make a good long term investment as the Lakima cow family speaks for itself.

Belle 9G is a long, deep, clean fronted daughter of POSS Element 215. Element is a popular AI bull siring light birth weight calves with excellent growth and performance. His daughters are known to be big ribbed with extra width and style, and Belle is no exception. Her dam is a moderate cow with a beautiful udder and correct feet and legs. I showed this heifer at the Nechako Valley Exhibition and the Burns Lake Fall Fair, she is quiet to work around and would make a good junior project.

Tibbie 25G is a very complete heifer. She is moderate framed, correct and feminine. Tibbie’s sire is a bull I used only a small amount last year. I am really impressed with the calving ease, growth, thickness and overall eye appeal his calves have displayed. I have retained the other heifer he sired in my herd. Tibbie’s dam is a larger framed Wild Fire daughter that is correct and sound.

Canyon Tree Farms
◆ Lynn Jackson, Harry, Jackson, and Harrison Hooke ◆ Welcome to the third annual Shades of Autumn Production and Prospect Sale. Once again, we are very honoured to be a part of such an amazing event. 2019 has been a tough year for many BC cattle producers. Weather and grasshoppers have made it very difficult for producers to maintain pastures and get feed up for the winter. As I write this in late August, many farmers are still struggling to finish their haying and hoping for a drying trend before the grain crops ripen. Our thoughts are with everyone and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we have a dry fall. With true producer mentality, even in the face of all of these obstacles we still look forward to the future and what better way to do that than with this group of amazing females on offer. We have been raising purebreds since 2000. We maintain a small herd and our goal is to produce females that are thick, heavy boned with superior milk production and superb maternal instincts. We only keep those dams that calve in the first cycle and this practice has led to a very fertile herd. Our goal is to raise quality livestock that will thrive and breed in even the most demanding environments. We sell only the very best of our breeding stock. The bulls must be easy fleshing, have good feet, excellent scrotal measurements and pass on superior carcass numbers to their offspring. Our cows must be easy keeping with good feet and udders, performance, fertility and a good disposition. The two heifers we have consigned more than exceed these criteria and will be welcome additions to any herd. Come and visit us anytime if you would like to see the cattle and we look forward to visiting with you on sale day.

This is a really deep bodied, powerful female that has all the makings of a top producing cow. Between her pedigree and her natural thickness, she is destined to put pounds on her calves. She came off pasture on August 5th weighing 1405 lbs. With a low birth weight and a WW and YW in the top 30% and a TM in the top 15%, this heifer is poised to be a long-term, productive addition to any herd. Exposed to a Musgrave Sky High son (CTF TIBBIE SKY HIGH 181F - #2025234) April 14th to May 18th and a HF Kodiak son (CTF TIBBIE KODIAK 184F – #2025239) from May 19th to June 30th. This heifer is a granddaughter of one of our first purebred purchases. A great KFC cow that gave us top selling bulls and very productive females year after year. It is a pleasure to build a herd with cows like that. Combined with the Aviator genetics, this heifer has everything needed to become an elite dam in her own right. She came off pasture August 5th weighing 1365 lbs. Exposed to a Musgrave Sky High son (CTF TIBBIE SKY HIGH 181F - #2025234) April 14th to May 18th and a HF Kodiak son (CTF TIBBIE KODIAK 184F – #2025239) from May 19th to June 30th.
