From the Bohrson Marketing Team...

Ourselves at Bohrson Marketing Services have the pleasure to travel and work with progressive breeders from across the world but this event would rank among the top as far as combining great cattle and beautiful landscape that is backed by wonderful breeders that give you first rate hospitality. The inaugural sale last year was a great success as interest was gathered nation wide due to the high quality stock on offer backed by repetition breeders. We can’t brag enough on this event and would put it on the short list of must attend cattle events for the 2018 sale season. Monty & Tanya Belsham are passionate about the livestock industry and have established a program that is respected world wide. Their success would in part be due to their strong cattle background and family members that have been so influential throughout the years. The 2018 sale offering that they have put forward is exceptionally strong with depth of quality throughout. The sale partners; the Long, Moon, Beaudette and Jackson families are once again offering their very best and the overall strength runs very deep throughout. The impressive cattle on offer is worth your trip out alone but when you add the outstanding hospitality to it with a picturesque view, it quickly rises to one of the awesome events of the fall. We truly hope you can be in attendance but if you aren’t able to make it, feel free to contact Taylor or Scott as they are very familiar with the programs and can assist with your buying needs. We look forward to visiting with you all in beautiful Houston, BC! Scott Bohrson Bohrson Marketing Services

◆ Monty, Tanya & Taylor Belsham ◆

Welcome to our 2nd annual sale. Hard to believe a year has gone by already. We have gone from the highs of our tremendous sale last fall to the lows with Monty’s battle with cancer this winter/spring. He is doing well and last check was all clear. We are currently over the moon excited waiting for the birth of Taylor and Alaina’s baby any day now. She will join Alaina’s daughter Saphira as our first grand kids. The Canadian Junior Show is going to be held in BC next summer and we would like to offer all juniors the opportunity to have us feed, halter break and deliver your heifer to the show. We understand we live a long ways away but rest assured your trip will be worth it. Videos will be done shortly before the sale. DLMS will be on site for online purchases and we have several buyer representatives to assist you. We will also assist you on speedy delivery of cattle. Watch our Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest updates. Please feel to contact us anytime if you have any questions.

Last write up to do. I’ve been dragging my heels to do this heifer. This without a doubt could be the star in the bred heifer pen. She is long spined, fancy fronted, thick made and we all know the Natural law daughters will have spectacular udders. She has been a personal favorite of mine. We are just bringing her in this week to get her halter broke and see if we can get her ready for the fall shows. I would like to offer 1/2 interest in her and no possession until after the 2019 show season. Please contact me for details. Blast Angus

◆ Brent, Lia, Shea & Tori Long ◆

We are happy to be a part of the 2nd annual Shades of Autumn Sale. Thanks to Tanya and Monty for hosting this sale! 2018 has been an eventful year for most ranchers in BC. We had the winter from hell that just wouldn’t end. We had more snow than we have had in years. The snow stayed until mid April and then the wind blew and it got hot and the devastating wild fires hit BC. Our area has been hit hard with fires. We had a fire twice on our range area, but luckily it was contained fairly quickly. Our thoughts are with so many ranchers and people in this area that are still battling to save their places. We are HUGE 4-H/Junior sponsors and were thrilled to have several 4-H/Jr. members show case our cattle at the Bulkley Valley Exhibition this year. The top light weight steer and top heavy weight steer and overall grand champion steer were purchased from our farm! There was some tough competition and 35 steers! We are very proud that a Blast steer has either been champion or reserve champion for 5 years in a row! The Champion 2 year old and calf, the top 2018 heifer calf and top yearling heifer in the junior show were Blast genetics too! These kids made us PROUD! We’re selling 2 heifer calves out of 2 new herd sires this year. One is out of a 2 year old cow and one out of a 3 year old cow. The breds are out of the Border Butte Fundamental 105B bull. His first daughters calved this year and have perfect udders and are raising some amazing calves! We sold 105B to Eastondale Angus in Saskatchewan last fall. These heifers are bred to our exciting new calving ease sire PM Encore 20’17. We’re entering 3 fancy steer calves out of our Hereford bull, Haroldsons Rhino 48Y 45C. These calves are thick and very quiet. They should make some fantastic 4-H projects. We will give a 10% discount to Junior members (must be transferred into the Jr’s name) this year! We look forward to visiting with everyone on sale day and welcome you to stop by anytime to see the sale cattle. Thank you to all bidders and buyers! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Jim & Shirley, Tom & Charlotte Moon

Welcome back to the Shades of Autumn Sale from Jim & Shirley, Tom and Charlotte Moon, and our little Harvest Moon due this October! The event is becoming the premier female sale in British Columbia, thank you to all the bidders and buyers who supported the inaugural sale in 2017. We have four pretty sweet girls for you to select from, these heifers are from the top of our herd and carry the breeding of our top cows. They all have lots of heel, good spring of rib and will have the same great udders their Dams have. Three are sired by Red Moon Dragon Rider 10D. We are super excited about his off spring, his bull calves coming for the bull sale next spring are long and thick. The Rider bull has a super good disposition. The 4th heifer is sired by Red Wilbar Double Deuce 158D, he has proven his worth in calving ease, great growth and exceptional hair coat. Come and enjoy a beautiful fall day in one of the most scenic venues in Western Canada.

Velvet 15F is a moderate framed daughter of my walking bull Crescent Creek 12Z Chisum. She is an easy doing, feminine heifer with a quiet disposition. Chisum is an athletic bull that moves well on correct feet and legs. He is moderate framed and easy fleshing, and I believe his daughters will be similar. Her dam is a correct and moderate cow with a beautiful udder.

Canyon Tree Farms

◆ Lynn Jackson, Harry, Jackson, and Harrison Hooke ◆ Welcome to the second annual Shades of Autumn Production and Prospect Sale. Once again, we are very honoured to be a part of this event. We have been raising purebred Angus for 18 years. In 2014 life threw us a curve ball and we made the decision to sell 90% of our herd and since that time we have been slowly rebuilding. Although we are still very small in numbers, the core of our animals represent the culmination of years of selective breeding and our desire to create females that are thick, heavy boned with superior milk production and wonderful maternal instincts. Our goal is to raise quality livestock that will thrive and breed in even the most demanding environments. We sell only the very best of our breeding stock. The bulls must be easy fleshing, have good feet, excellent scrotal measurements and superior carcass numbers. Our cows must be easy keeping with good feet and udders, performance, fertility and a good disposition. Canyon Tree Farms Inc. Lynn Jackson Fort St James, B.C.

We are offering a bred heifer and a heifer calf this year. These are full sisters and are both beautifully put together. They are very deep bodied, moderate framed females. The dam is a daughter from one of the original purebred cows we had ever purchased and her offspring represented almost 30% of our females when we sold the herd. The sire is an Aviator son that is living up to his genetic potential and has given us two amazing calf crops. CTF 76E was bred to CTF Pride of Tiger 1B, a bull we raised. With a birth weight of 68 lbs, this bull is in the top 2% for BW, but still in the top 20% for WW and top 35% for YW. She was called 4 months pregnant on August 23rd, 2018.
