THE VIROSTEK FAMILY
Welcome everyone. On behalf of Czech V7 Ranch we would like to thank M&R Cattle Co. for allowing us to be part of their Select Opportunity Bull and Female Sale this year and part of their breeding program. We have raised natural Simmental cross cattle for the last 40 years. We moved our operation from Alberta to Lestock, Saskatchewan in 2008 to 11,0000 acres of owned and rented pasture land. Our herd consists of 500 red and black Simmi X Angus cows and we have bred to red/black purebred performance Simmental bulls. Calving begins April 20th on native pasture land. The bred heifers that we have in the sale are a part of our replacement program, which are selected from our cows that consist of strong maternal traits, temperament, milk and mothering qualities. Thirty heifers were synchronized and AI ‘d to M&R’s herd sire Highmore on June 10th 2017. The rest of the heifers are bred July 5th to easy calving, low birth weight red and black angus bulls. Preg testing was done on August 1st and October 25th by the local vet.

Our heifers are on the full herd health program with a Zoetis Certificate. Which includes Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot + Ultabac 7/Somubac, Bovi-Shield Gold FP. THE RICHARDSON FAMILY
We are pleased to be bringing the top-cut of our heifer calf crop to the M&R Cattle Co. Select Opportunity Bull and Female Sale. The heifers we have on offer come from our proven cow herd of 250 Angus and Angus x Simmental cows, and out of top quality Simmental and Angus bulls. Our cows are selected for structural soundness, maternal traits, and temperament. We cull hard for any issues with feet, mothering ability or aggression. Our cows graze 9 months of the year on native grass and standing corn, and we are confident these heifers will walk out, forage and raise calves as well as their mothers.
We are proud of our fertility record on our cow herd, with our cows consecutively coming in at 98% and 98.3% conception rate within our 70 day calving window. We attribute this to the femininity of our cows, good nutrition and supplementation of our full herd health program, as well as strong bull power. We have been satisfied bull customers of M&R for several years! These heifers have all had AD and Sel-E at birth, Vision 8 with Spur and Titanium 5 at branding in the spring, and Bimectin, Bovishield Gold One Shot and Ultrabac 7 with Somnubac in late fall of 2017. Out of the entire pen of heifers we retained, zero required any treatment for illness during or following weaning. The heifers were weaned on hay and then phased onto a ration of silage and rolled barley, supplemented with free-choice mineral and salt. They will be given their pre-breeding shots and vet palpated for breeding soundness the first week of February. Certification can be viewed upon request.
