Welcome to the 12th Annual Remitall Farms Bull and Select Female Sale. We feel so fortunate to be a part of this industry and this year especially, made us realize how truly lucky we are to be surrounded by the amazing people for whom raising cattle is a way of life.

To say that 2023 was a challenging year would be an understatement. It had nothing to do with drought or yields, cattle prices or interest rates.

In the late fall, we were presented with the most difficult obstacle we’ve ever faced. On November 20th, we received the devastating news that Gary had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which unfortunately, had already spread to his bones, liver and lungs by the time of his diagnosis. Gary fought fiercely with his family by his side, but lost his battle on December 14th. Although our hearts are broken and at times we feel lost, he is still very much present in everything we do. We think about him every day and his advice and words of wisdom play a role in every decision we make.

Gary’s years of experience and his knowledge from a lifetime of raising purebred cattle played a huge role in the development of our cow herd - of which Gary was very proud of.

Over the years, we have emphasized the importance of a strong cow herd. By putting generations of cow families together, we have built a herd with depth and consistency. A cow herd that is full of productive, efficient females who have strong maternal traits, with fertility and longevity. We feel all the cattle on offer are backed by the attributes of this cow herd.

We have an outstanding set of yearling bulls on offer. Whether you are looking for calving ease, or a bull with performance to add more pounds to your calf crop or a real maternal oriented bull to produce herd building daughters, we have what you are looking for. Bulls such as Territory, Bloodline, Colossal and Connection are producing bulls with muscle and mass along with sound, functional females with beautiful udders. New and exciting sires including Triumph, Resilient and America, have surpassed all expectations. Our home raised and walking sires such as Historic, Flamethrower, Rainman and Sold Out have produced a strong set heifers and bulls with performance, growth and strong maternal value.

We once again have an exciting group of extra age bulls on offer. These bulls have the extra maturity and size and will be able to cover a large group of cows or heifers with ease.

We are extremely proud of the set of heifers we have on offer. They are right off the top of our replacement pen. Many top cow families are represented with proven production records. We believe these are all heifers with phenotype and genetic merit to be top producing females.

Right to Semen: Remitall reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at Remitall’s expense and the buyer’s convenience. Any semen collected will be for Remitall Farms’ in herd use only.

Guarantee: Bulls are breeders if they can settle cow by natural service and pass a fertility semen test by a competent veterinarian.

In order to better assist you in an event of any problems occurring with a bull, it should be reported to us as soon as possible and not later than the current year in which the bull was purchased.

Remitall Farms will replace the bulls considered non breeders with a bull of equal value agreed upon by both parties or will refund the purchase price of said bull.

Remitall Farms is not liable for bull lost due to death or injury. Due to the different conditions and management practises under which bulls are run, Remitall cannot guarantee the number of cows a bull will settle. Under no circumstances is Remitall responsible for any further losses the purchaser may claim to have incurred.

Remitall Farms reserves the right to have the purchaser return any bulls considered non breeders to Remitall for examination.

Herd Health: Remitall is a Brucellosis free area. The bulls are vaccinated in June and again in September with Bovishield Gold 5, Ultrabac 7/ Somubac, One Shot. Bulls and heifers are treated with Ivomec pour-on and Safe-Guard in October. They are treated again with Clean-Up II pour-on in November.

Bull Management: The Sale Bulls and their dams are managed in large groups throughout the summer with no creep. The bulls are weaned mid September and after 3-5 days in corral are turned back out on an 80 acre pasture with lots of exercise, clean water and free choice hay. Bulls are eventually introduced to a TMR (Total Mixed Ration), consisting of oats/barley silage, chopped hay and a low % grain (oats/barley)ration. Late October bulls are moved into corral pens for better management from cold weather with lots of bedding enabling them to stay clean. Bulls are fed a TMR (Total Mixed Ration) for growth and gainability but keeping in mind longevity and fertility.

Bull Delivery: Free delivery will be provided by Remitall Farms on bulls and heifers to central points in Western Canada at the convenience of Remitall Farms, unless previous arrangements have been made. We will assist in arranging delivery and cost share to Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes and US destinations. Sale bulls and heifers will be available to be loaded out sale day. $100 off per bull and $50 off per heifer if picked up within one week of sale.

Volume Discount: A volume discount will be applied to multiple purchases on bulls only. 3 Bulls- 3% off, 4 Bulls- 4% off, 5 Bulls- 5% off, 6 Bulls 6% off, 7 Bulls-7% off, 8 Bulls-8% off, 9 Bulls- 9% off, 10 + Bulls -10%

It is a pleasure working with the folks at Remitall and seeing the depth of the bull pen continue to grow each year. A summer tour of the cows while they are milking and you will quickly see why these bulls develop the way they do. Hope to see you on sale day.

The bull feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health; they are developed on grass with their moms on a strict mineral program. All the forages are sampled and analyzed to ensure quality forages are used. Once the calves are weaned, they are slowly moved onto a balanced TMR. The bulls are challenged with a forage-based TMR to help them develop and express their genetic potential.

Matching suitable protein sources with proper starch is key to promoting lean muscle growth. Organic minerals are used to ensure proper immune function and overall health.
