e to our 4th Annual Online Sale and thank you for taking the time to look through our offering. We are extremely W elcomWelcome

pleased with the quality in this years sale and feel there is the type that will suit many operations. These cattle have been campaigned to represent our program and to allow us to showcase these genetics at different venues. The strength in the offering goes beyond the show ring in the genetic potential these cattle display. They are sound individuals built from a program where we strive to produce cattle that thrive in any environment, and are the type that are from the top of our replacement groups. We develop these genetics first and foremost to be able to maintain themselves under typical ranching conditions and to excel in the production of either siring or raising calves. This set showcases our ideals of genotype and phenotype and we are proud to offer them to you through the online format. This year we have upped the heifer calf lots and changed the flushing opportunity format to frozen embryos. These two changes have allowed us to sell females that can be campaigned by their new owners, whether they are youth or established outfits, which allows the purchaser to further add marketing value to their new genetics. We offer as a service to our customers, the opportunity for us to promote the genetics bought from us, not only through our own contact base but also in the show ring. If it is something of interest to you, we can prepare and take your heifers or bulls out for you next fall. For the frozen side, with our increasing ET work being done we thought it would be imperative to share some of these fresh genetics with you.The 86P cow speaks for herself in terms of production, and the excitement created by the 74-51 Sudden Look bull makes for an interesting lot indeed. We will continue to showcase our walking bulls that we have shown recently and in years past through the Semen lots in this sale.To add to the already popular Thor and Loose Change bulls, we have an extremely exciting black bull from Lakeland College, pedigreed Motown but goes by Obama around here and at his former home. Obama is the bull we have been searching for to mate to our black cowherd and we are excited for the arrival of his first calf crop this winter. Our single bred lot shares the same mother as one of the heifer calves and likely should have been shown herself this fall. She brings theYellowstone and Midland blood to the table and is mated early to none other than Obama. The bull calves are exciting individuals in so many ways. On the black side, the choice lot of two bulls that are similar in type with dams of different pedigrees both coming from our two largest cow families. They are the kind of bulls that display our typical calving ease with top end weaning performance stemming from dams designed for function. The sole Red Angus bull lot is an individual we feel has a ton to offer many different operations. He has the phenotype that shouts herdbull while still having a stacked pedigree of great maternal matrons here. He is the type that is full of calving ease but will sire the type of cattle that are stout enough to crush the scale in the fall and leave you with females that will continue to produce in the same manner. Thank you to the staff at Bohrson Marketing and LiveAuctions for all that you do to help us put this sale together. We also would like to thank Taylor Richards, Cody Herbert and all the folks that have helped us on the day to day operations at home and at shows. They allow us to be able to continue to promote our program and livestock. We are grateful for the support of our past customers, bidders, and anyone who has inquired about our genetics and program. We value your input and view your success with our genetics as a great achievement to our program. How to Bid?

PUGH FARMS ONLINE PRODUCTION SALE DATES AND TIMES The auction has been set to run from 9:00 a.m. MST on Monday, November 30, 2015 with the Internet close out to start with the first lot at 7:00 p.m. MST Thursday, December 3rd. We will then proceed to sell each lot using either a 30 or 45 second bidding clock until all lots are sold. Meaning once the pre announced time has expired without a bid that lot will be considered sold to the last highest bidder. A sale order will be posted 9:00 Wednesday morning. If you don’t have computer access, phone in bids will be accepted at the numbers listed on the terms and conditions page. Be sure to register early to allow the necessary time to be put in to the system. HOW TO PARTICIPATE · In order to participate in the online auction you will need to pre-register and obtain a buyer number. · To do this, go to the LiveAuctions website, www.liveauctions.tv, and select Pugh Farms Online Production Sale. · After logging in the buyer registration form should pop up automatically. If it doesn’t there is a link you can select that says, “register for a buyer number” which is located right under your name in the top right hand corner. · This form requires you to fill out your banks name, city, state, phone number and a contact. · You may register to bid after bidding has opened but please remember that authorization to bid is not instantaneous. HOW THE AUCTION WORKS · Once you have a username and have received a buyer number then you are ready to bid.You will see a screen that is unique to your user ID. · There will be a list containing the sale lots. If you click on a lot the video clip or photo will be displayed to the right. The next bid, current price, proxy bid, and manual bid buttons will be displayed below the video area. This page will react to your bids by stating, “you are in” or “you are out”. · No one else will be able to see your bid – that data is not accessible to the public. · Each time you login, the auction screen will display your personal bidding information.Your auction screen is unique and private displaying your activity to only you. · Remember that you must have the lot that you are bidding on selected. This is where it tells you if you are in or out. It is here where you can also see your proxy bid settings(as applicable). WHAT IS A PROXY BID? With a proxy bid you can enter your maximum bid and then sit back and watch. When you enter a proxy bid amount the LiveAuctions system automatically bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid. If the lot closes out for less than your maximum, that’s all you pay. This means that you don’t have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed. This makes it more convenient and less time consuming. It can also greatly assists those breeders that can’t be near a computer or are busy with other duties at the time of the final bidding. Your maximum amount is kept confidential from other bidders and the seller. Even though you can see this amount on your screen no one else can. The LiveAuctions system compares your bid to those of the other registered bidders and the system automatically places bids on your behalf, using only as much of your bid as is necessary to maintain your high bid position. The system will bid only up to your maximum amount as necessary to maintain you as the high bidder. If another bidder has a higher maximum, you’ll be outbid and the system will tell you that “YOU’RE OUT”. But, if no other bidder has a higher maximum you win the final bid. The final close out bidding process: After each sale we receive a few calls after the sale from breeders who were interested in bidding on a heifer but failed to watch the bidding clock and let the bidding time expire. When the bidding starts, the bidding clock will run for a pre announced time (usually 30 or 45 seconds or until there is a bid at which time the clock will rewind to its original 30 or 45 seconds. (Whatever time used will be preannounced). For example: if the bidding clock gets down to 1 second remaining then a higher bid is submitted, the clock will then restart. This rewind process will continue with each bid received until the allotted time elapses without a bid. Then the lot will be considered sold. So if you are interested in a particular heifer be sure to submit your bid while there is still time on the clock. This is where using the proxy bid can come in handy insuring you do not miss a bid! LiveAuctions staff will be happy to answer your questions. Jessy Milne-Smith: (613) 229-1073 or Brad Fahrmeier: (816) 392-9241

Selling 1/2 interest 1/2 possession. Son of Thor has exceeded our expectations from day one and continues to do the same more and more everyday. His dam has raised a past sale feature to Right Cross Ranch, has another full brother working in our own program and may have put her best effort yet into this herdbull prospect. She is balanced through her structure with abundance of middle, capacity and lower third, while having the type of udder that would make cows half her age jealous. Son himself is extremely representative of our program where he is moderate birthed, genetically full of calving ease, and still pounds the scales down at weaning. He is backed by an abundance of moderate females with excellent udders and easy-doing capacious body types. He is solid in his foot size and pastern angle; round in his muscle shape, and wide through his top with a big round rib. He’s full of masculinity and we are yet to see an April bull calf with his testicle development this time of year. We feel the future is big time on this guy. Fresh genetics wrapped up in a genetically advanced eye-appealing package.

When we selected these two bulls to represent their sire in the online sale we wanted to offer two that were very similar in type and representative of his design. He is leaving us with calves that are eye appealing in their phenotype and extremely sound in their foot structure with a balance of muscle and length of spine. We chose two bulls from different cow families to allow for the buyer to find the genetics that suit them, while still having an opportunity to procure the top-end of our program phenotypically. The dams to these bulls come from the two largest cow families here, and are both leading the families in production. They are also similar in their design being bold ribbed, deep sided, and having a square udder structure that is smooth flowing from their underline into their fore udder. Both bulls were among the top of their weaning contemporary and are posting 205-day weights of 778lbs and 807lbs with 82lbs and 86lbs birthweights. They are solid footed and hard muscled with an appealing design in their phenotype. If you are looking for a herdbull to provide you with calving ease while siring calves that weigh up in the fall, and still have the ability to produce females to build a cow family around, these guys will suit your need.

Here’s a female who we feel can hang a halter and be in the hunt as a bred next fall. More importantly, though, she is the type that is right for the industry in the sense of the production that she offers. She comes from a past feature we sold through the August Event as a bred heifer to Norseman Farms and then had the opportunity to purchase back through their dispersal. It was an easy decision to bring her back into the fold, as she has been an elite cow since 2010, and the progeny of females she had displayed at the dispersal were the type and kind strive to produce ourselves. This female is angular in her design, with an abundance of width of base. While maintaining a strong top, she possesses a softness of middle and a foot structure that makes her a matron candidate when she gets into production. Her pedigree boasts greats such as BR Midland, EXAR Master 253, and Krugerrand 410H to name a few. All great herdbulls that have made a impact on the breed.

Exposed to OAV Motown 11B from April 25 to July 22 The sole bred heifer entry to the sale and one we chose not only for her phenotype and maternal background, but she is the only female we are selling mated to Obama. She is a maternal sister to 20C and this pair of females is extremely representative of their mother and sisters before them. She is extremely long spined, deep in her quarter, sprung in her cage and extended through her front end. She is the kind to raise you replacements to base a cow family around and herdbulls to mate cow families too. She combines the performance blood of Yellow09/02/2014 stone and the maternal strength of Midland.

The thoughts that come to mind on this female’s phenotype are an appreciation for how long spined she is and how full she from her top line to her underline moving forward from her flank to her heart. She comes from a dam that year in and year out has produced progeny for us that have lead their contemporaries at sale time. Her first son was the high selling bull in our Spring Bull Sale, her second was a daughter that was a feature bred to Circle G in our online sale last year, her third was the first yearling to move out of the Private Treaty Pen this spring, and now we have this beauty of a breeding piece in 10C. Udder structure is among the best on the place in terms of teat size and fore udder. This heifer features a sure-fire cow for a dam and a herdbull for a sire that is doing great things for us. Here’s one that is rounded in her phenotype and genotype and can be mated to further excel your program.

A tour favorite this summer, this heifer calf has had the opportunity to turn a fair few heads. Her dam is a model example of the type of female we breed for. Strong footed through her angle and design, beautiful uddered, and carrying an abundance of capacity through her middle; she is angular through her head and neck design. 34C displays the same characteristics as her mother with added bone mass, dimension and width through her quarter which are traits passed by her sire. She will be competitive in the younger bred division next fall and watch out when she lays an udder and shows with her first progeny the fall after.

This female’s mother is affectionately described as a land hippo. She is so capacious in her rib shape that there isn’t a tree big enough on the place for her to hide behind. 35C displays the same easy-keeping huge barreled design of her mother, with the added width and depth of quarter of her sire. She is eye appealing through her front end and powerful in her foot and bone size. Her EPD profile is strong through her performance evaluations and she still carries the look of calving ease and maternal strength. She’s a tough one to let go, but we believe in selling the type that will excel for our customers.

To switch things up this year we felt we would offer a set of frozen eggs in the frozen section. 86P has written volumes here in her production record. She currently has had 2 sons working in our own herd, 1 at Right Cross Ranch, 1 at Anchor One and the only daughter she has had is none other than the dam to the Master 217X bull who is the sire of all the black calves selling today. Many of her progeny have been division winners at various shows in Canada and the females that we have stemming from her have amassed us a cow herd that is sound, productive, and consistent. We felt that the Sudden Look cross will add even more maternal strength and eye appeal to the 86P progeny as he has a model Angus cow for a mother. Expect the calves to be stout made and deep sided; angular enough to hang a halter and compete, but more importantly produce the timeless kind that will work for generations to come. An exciting bull to add to the lineup of frozen genetics. Motown, or Obama as he has come to be known here, was the recent high seller out of the Lakeland College bull sale this Spring. We found this bull at side of his mother when Amanda judged the Saskatchewan Junior Angus Gold Show last fall and used the pair to win the female show that day. His dam is typical of our type being moderate and extremely correct in both her udder and foot structure. On top of that she is chock full of eye appeal and stout through her middle and quarter. These traits have passed on fully into Obama. Many people that have toured here have remarked how proportional he is. He displays this OAV 11B 1783441 20/01/2014 through his round muscle and level flank moving forward into an extreme amount of rib definition, then a bw - 70 ww - 757 yw - 1323 smooth shoulder and powerful chest floor to finish off the package, leading into a model Angus head and skull. We love the foot he has developed, the extreme low birthweight and calving ease he has tabulated and the extra weaning performance we look for in all our walking bulls. He covered our black heifers with ease this spring and to say we are excited for them to hit the ground is an understatement. His sire, Bismarck, continues to write his own page in the Angus history books through his high caliber progeny he has fathered globally. He has never stood lower than Reserve Division in any show he has been in and has pulled down many Champion Division honors. He was the high selling bull to North Country Angus in our online sale ‘13 and has since been partnered out to the great folks at Shiloh as well. We feel the best part about this bull is what makes any bull a great one, his progeny. Our online sale this year is dominated solely by progeny of his in the Red Angus division, and they are the type that make the promotional side of the business fulfilling, as we feel they are all the kind that can impact operations. Not a small feat for a sire’s first calf crop. We are looking forward to hearing progeny GJP 255A 1757797 11/02/2013 reports from the folks that purchased semen last year, and want to once again thank them for their bw - 89 ww - 776 yw - n/a confidence in this bull.
