Welcome to the first inaugural Prairie Lands Bull Sale! The heart of our consignor group is based upon raising cattle that will perform in a multitude of versatile cattle herds throughout North America. The bulls on offer come from herds located in British Columbia and Alberta where the main focus is providing genetic progression by utilizing some of the best genetics that are on the market. The name of our sale comes from the fact that our bulls are raised and mostly sold on the prairies of Canada. The Prairie Lands consignor group is made of many well-established breeders some of whom have had decades of experience selling cattle and younger breeders who are well on their way to becoming big name breeders. Reflecting upon the last year, there is no doubt that Covid-19 has had a drastic impact on the Canadian cattle industry. Farmers have always been resilient, and we have not wavered as our goal has always stayed the same; raising good cattle that will have a positive impact in our customer’s herd. We may be crazy starting up a new sale in a pandemic, but we have not let that stop us and the quality of the bulls is as good as it gets. We are a group of good people, selling great cattle to even greater customers. Terms & Conditions
$100 cash if your bull is taken home sale day. All bulls are backed by the seller and guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders as per the CSA Bylaws. All bulls 12 months of age will be semen tested, palpated and scrotal measurement taken by an accredited veterinarian. Information will be available sale day. All bulls returning to sellers’ farms MUST be insured. Bulls can be kept at our farms at no cost up until April 15, 2021 after that $5.00/day will be charged. Delivery will be arranged as soon as it’s mutually agreed upon by the seller and purchaser. Bulls will be delivered free of charge within 200km of innisfail. Delivery beyond will be arranged at cost.

The breeders behind this sale are committed to offering their very best and we feel the reds, blacks and Fullbloods on offer are strong throughout. They fully stand behind their product and you can invest with confidence that you are accessing the best genetics they have ever produced. This offering of fullblood bulls are selected from the best genetics in their respected programs and will add the Simmental power that the industry has been seeking. 3H’s pedigree is as good as they come! Sired by Rival who goes back to MRLN Rogar and Double Bar D Joceline, and Bar 5 P SA Expert and Toverberg Erika on his dams side, this bull has it all! 3H is a super fancy, quiet, big footed, long spined bull with a Sire boatload of hip muscle. Our Rival calf crop may be small but oh boy is it good! 3H’s dam, Santina Abrosina, has been an absolute powerhouse and at 9 yrs old, she is still in her prime. She has the best udder I have seen in awhile and she is what I consider to be a front pasture female. With a BW of 98lbs and WW of 871LBS, 3H will be versatile in many different breeding operations. What a show stopper! Flash as he is affectionately known here, has been an absolute pleasure to raise and has been one of my favorite bulls to raise so far. If you want a bull that will put the pounds on the calves come weaning time while providing calving Dam ease at calving, then he is your man! This freight train has been bred for calving ease with Titanium and Gunner in his pedigree and had an impressive weaning weight of 977lbs. Flash is as thick and naturally muscled as they come with tons of spring of rib. Flash’s dam is no word of a lie, one of my best cows, bringing in the biggest calf every year at weaning, having an average weaning weight of 887lbs on her calves. Flash’s dam has the most perfect udder structure, while being long spined and as thick muscled as he is. Flash may have some extra chrome but this bull is as good as it gets! Being polled and extremely quiet he becomes the package deal; there is just something so special about him! Red Purebred.

With 4 generations of Simmental bred genetics, 10H is technically a purebred Simmental. “The Flash” is a very fitting name for this flashy March born bull as he has quickly caught up in size and performance to his January born penmates. We have loved every single calf out of BEE Grandsire Component 78F, they come out at a nice size and grow very quickly. The performance, thickness and natural muscling that we’ve seen in Components calves is on display in this bull. During summer pasture tours, this was Darryl’s pick of the bull calves alongside his very fancy dam whose grandsire is Double Bar D Rival. 10H’s dam also goes back to my Jessie cow, the very first cow to start the Skylark herd; a show cow that had a very successful show career until her retirement at 7 yrs old. 10H’s dam, a first calver, carries excellent foot and udder structure, a moderate framed and soggy body type that makes the Jessie cow family so good. It should be noted this bull was weaned early making his adjusted WW 829 lbs. Being sired by a Titanium son with a BW of 95lbs and a CE 8.5, “The Flash” is a great candidate for the heifer pen. 7/8 Simmental.

12H is quickly become a standout in the bull pen. The growth in these Component calves is phenomenal and they carry so much rump and depth to them. Component has quickly become a mainstay in the Skylark herd and at 3 yrs old he looks fantastic! Dam 12H’s dam was one of the first few purebred purchases we made, being purchased as a heifer calf out of the D Bar L Fleckvieh Dispersal. At 9 yrs old, Laura is still an absolute tank and still has one the best udder structures in my herd while being in the top 15% for milking; a trait she passes down to 12H whom is in the top 25% for milking. The style of 12H is very eye catching, even with his later birthdate, he measures up to his penmates very well. 12H was weaned early with a very impressive WW of 753lbs for his age and an adjusted WW of 827lbs. This bull will put the pounds on the calves and sire heifers and bulls that will be destined for the keeper pen. 12H’s pedigree is filled with many of the greats such as Titanium, Lolita, Jahari and Laki. 14H is one of my personal favorites with his extremely thick and soggy body type, clean front, and rump muscle for days! 14H is one of the pets of the bull pen, he just loves people! For a moderate cow, Wildrose Delilah 6D has outdone herself on 14H. Dam Udder structure and milking ability is a huge deal here and 6D hits it right on the nose. 6D is one of the most naturally muscled and thick cows in my herd and the cross with Component has turned into one of my favorite crosses. 14H is in the top 20% for milk and carries many of the essential carcass traits that make a good animal, traits that he will easily pass onto his offspring. His well bred pedigree and performance track record make him a great candidate to be your next herdsire. With the likes of Titanium, Lolita and Baron in the pedigree, he is sure to make his new owner happy! Fleckvieh.

Being the 3rd generation of Simmental bred genetics, 15H is considered to be a purebred bull. 15H goes back to the Jessie cow, hands down the best cow in my herd, and 15H’s dam, SKY Jessie James 87F is just as good. Moderate framed 87F did a bang up job on Sire of lot 6 & 7 her first calf, weaning off 15H early at an impressive weight of 737 and an adjusted WW of 852lbs. 15H is likely the youngest bull in the offering but he is easily one of the most well muscled bulls I have raised to date and you wouldn’t know his age among the other bulls in the bull pen. 15H is the bull most similar in structure to Component, both whom are easily picked out by visitors due to their eye appeal, quiet nature and excellent depth and muscling. It doesn’t get much better than this bull! Longevity and udder structure is well bred into this bull and having Titanium in the pedigree adds tons of calving ease. 15H will easily sire bulls and females that will be very well muscled and put that extra cash in your pocket! Wow what a bull! 20H has it all and then some, always having been a standout since birth. With many generations of Simmental breeding, he is a purebred technically. 20H belongs to the Jessie cow family, coming straight from the heart of my herd so you can be guaranteed Granddam great udders, body structure and milking ability. The Jessie cow family crossed with Component has resulted in some of the best calves with 20H being towards the top of this list, they are so uniform and consistently good. 20H carries such excellent body structure, depth, muscling while being clean fronted and big footed; I wish this bull was staying here but I am excited to see the amazing things he will do in his new home! His pedigree says it all with Titanium, Salton and Jahari on the sire side and with TLB Trent 1T as the grandsire on the dams side, this bull is very maternally bred. 2H is the epitome of a beef bull. He is a moderate framed bull with a good disposition and great feet and legs. His spring of rib, wide top and muscling are impressive. His Cowboy Cut dam did an unbelievable job on him and his twin brother, weaning off almost 200 lbs more calf than her own body weight, and calved January 2nd this year with another nice bull calf. I understand why so many AI bulls have his sire Upgrade in their pedigree, he just produces great calves. If you like your calves black, polled, and heavy come fall, this is the bull for you. Happy Hour is a bull that should add some length to his offspring. He has a nice narrow head with smooth shoulders and finishes off with a nicely muscled wide rump. Calves out of him should come easy and hopefully be vigorous like he was at birth. He is another moderate framed bull that is calm and super easy to work with. Put him on red or black cows, he’ll work on either. Both of our bulls are at Olds College on the RFI bull test, neither of them are going to be over finished they are being fed for longevity not to look fat and fleshy on sale day. Homo Polled.

I will be the first to admit Harrison’s dam is definitely not the prettiest cow in the herd. But she quite possibly is one of the top contenders for the best udder on the farm. This cow family has helped us to really appreciate our purebreds bred Fleck. This calf is as purebred as they come we just didn’t pull hair on his sire that we used on a group of cows as a yearling before selling him. The calves were all very consistent and grew great.

Gordon is definitely a pen favorite with his long well muscled build and solid all around appearance, but what’s most impressive is even though he was the youngest bull in the pen last year he was certainly not the bottom of the pen.
