Welcome to the sixth annual Ontario Simmental Solution Sale. We are very excited to have The Futures One Edition 14 part of sale day. Two very dedicated sale groups coming together. This will truly have something for everyone! This year in Ontario it started out dry during planting by July and August its been wet, probably one of the worst years for making dry hay. We as beef farmers make it through every year whatever mother nature throws at us. Every year this sale has grown and with the cattle prices at a all time high this year should be no exception. Jaxon made it through the cattle back in July and was very excited with what he saw during the farm visits. Again this year DLMS will be available for your online bidding. Thank you to all the consignors and welcome to new consignors. To the bidders, thank you, it is all of you that has made this sale a success in past. As in years past, the consignors have consigned a wide variety of Simmental genetics and its great to see some of past sale genetics coming back through this very sale. All the animals will be preg checked prior to the sale and updates will be provided prior to the sale. As we toured through these exceptional cowherds this summer, it was clear to see how passionate these consignors are about their cattle and their breeding program. As we look into the fall, we are seeing record calf and cull cow prices and it’s exciting. There hasn’t been a time that I can remember that you can bring a couple of older cows to town and bring home a front end bred heifer. Now is the time to start rebuilding those herds and with a sale like the Simmental Solutions Sale this is where it’ll all start.

This is the third well marked heifer calf to make the sale out of a brood cow we purchased from our friends at DJ Farms at the 2018 Ontario Simmental Solution Sale. Her full sister sold at the 2022 Solution Sale to Lee McBride and a maternal sister sold at the 2021 Solution Sale to Ashanbrook Simmentals. We had originally planned to keep this heifer however Darryl talked us into selling her in the sale. It was -36oC when she was born so the tips of her ears got slightly frosted off. CVC Layla 204K is a moderate, stout, powerhouse that has all the makings to become an awesome momma cow. Her dam came to us from BMS in Quebec. Laylas dam has a picture perfect udder. DELIVERY: Delivery will be the responsibility of the buyer and the buyer’s risk.

FLECKVIEH STATUS: Full Fleckvieh will be considered as fullblood cattle tracing back to a minimum of 5 generations of German or Austrian heritage. It is reccomended if further research is required to check with the Canadian Simmental Association and no assumption of Fleckvieh heritage will be guaranteed by neither consignor or the CSA.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE: Standard terms set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association, with the exception where any animal is subject to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the gurantee shall be null and void.

We are going to be very sad to see her go as we think she will be a great cow with tons of potential. Khloe’s dam was purchased from Wolfes Fleckvieh Sundre who we have bought a few heifers from and have been very happy with all of them. Khloe is a daughter from Jack Pine Andy that you just won’t just find anywhere.
