Welcome from Bohrson Marketing Services
The McQuaig and Klassen families have been providing the peace country area and abroad with quality Simmental and Charolais bulls for 18 consecutive bull sales and we are pleased to welcome you to the 19th annual Northen Classic sale. The JayDawn Farms and Willow Creek Simmentals outfits are like minded operations that strive to produce sound, functional, easy doing bulls that positively impact their valued customers bottom line. The very loyal repeat customers to these operations is a true testament to the service, product and ultimately the people that back this sale offering. JayDawn farms’ 2022 offering is extremely deep in quality and as consistent of a bull pen as you will find. This string of sale bulls is one that’s extremely diverse with the deep offering of red and Black Simmental, a select group of high quality fullblood bulls and 10 high quality Charolais bulls. The sale bulls from JayDawn have a lot to offer and we think wether you are in search of a calving ease prospect, or a bull to add pounds to your calf crop you will find them in spades here in a few different colours. The Bentley bull will surely go down as one of the best investments JayDawn has ever made and its obvious why with his soggy made sons on offer this year. The first calf crop off of Night Hawk has exceeded expectations as they are highly functional cattle that were born easy and didn’t look back. They have grown into stout made, easy doing bulls that have alot to offer. The rookie calf crop by Treasure Island in both the fullblood division and in the purebred division are the right kind made for todays market, we think highly of the fleck x purebred cross and its obvious why when they produce performance orientated bulls like these. Unfortunately this will be the only calf crop off the high selling Limitless sire, but we think you will really appreciate his sons on offer as they exemplify what he was selected for offering calving ease with performance and not sacrificing eye appeal and maternal qualities. The Charolais division is highlighted by the exclusive LT Nation Wide bull and we think these sons by him are very consistent in type. Very rarely do you find a sire that shortens gestation, puts in some calving ease and then proves to be packed full of power and performance, these bulls are peas in a pod. The Maverick sire group have added look with calving ease a given and we feel you will really appreciate these sons. JayDawn farms is always known for sourcing the absolute best walking herd bulls, elite semen packages and donor cows to continually improve their cowherd, taking out any guess work for their clients and we feel this offering of bulls brought you by the McQuaig family is exceptional. The Klassen family of Willow Creek Simmentals again has brought to town the type of bulls they have become known to produce. Thick topped, big butted, stout made bulls that come in both some cow bull options with some heifer friendly types as well. The 21 herd bull prospects on offer are lead by the popular Popeye sire group and its certainly evident why his sons have become so popular. These bulls by Popeye continually posses his big strong made foot, his length of body and his expressive muscle shape. You’ll notice Popeye was mated specifically a few times to Lotto daughters and its been proven to work very well with the feature, lead off bull being a result of this mating. The home raised Defender bull was utilized to moderate birth and strengthen maternal cow power but when you analyze his sons you’ll quickly realize he was not a one trick pony as his sons are extremely high quality. Lotto is surely one of the great bulls of this generation for making high quality females and males alike, and he was able to spend his last few years walking for Willow Creek, and his sons left here on offer are the cattleman’s kind that are stout, hairy, beef bulls made for todays market place. Popular Ai sires such as Proclamation, Cobra, Sheriff and Red Whiskey are also represented throughout the Willow Creek offering as they are tested, proven herd bulls that have left a very good, smaller group of sons. The Klassen family is well known for their powerful cow herd that annually puts fourth a powerful set of herd bulls every spring and we feel they are some of the biggest sticklers when it comes to raising and selection sound, functional cattle with a heavy emphasis on foot quality and skeleton structure. We feel this set of bulls is very evident of that. The JayDawn and Willow Creek programs are backed by some of the best people to do business with in the entire industry and when your able to combine that with the quality cattle these families produce, its truly a win-win. We encourage you to reach out to the Klassen and McQuaigs to discuss your bull needs, and hope you can join us in the beautiful Evergreen Park for the sale. Should you be unable to to attend the sale, feel free to reach out to any of us at Bohrson Marketing and we would be happy to discuss your herd bull needs and represent you sale day in a respectful, confidential manner.

Again we will be offering online bidding thru DLMS, videos of the bulls will be posted on Cattlevids.com prior to the sale. Hard to believe I am sitting down to put together another bull sale catalogue as time seems to slip by so quickly. We all wanted to forget about 2020 with hopes that 2021 would be a better year for all due to the pandemic. Well I’m pretty sure most of us were just as glad to see 2021 come and go maybe more so than 2020. Not only were we still stuck in the pandemic we had a severe drought in our area as in most parts that made it a very difficult year for not only the cattle producers but the grain farmers as well. We decided that with the position we were in we would try to carry on as normal as we could to be able to maintain the most important aspect of our operation the cow herd, like most cattle producers we had to buy the majority of our feed and truck it in from where ever we could. For those that we have not met JayDawn is a family based operation located in Teepee Creek just Northeast of Grande Prairie. We run a mixed grain and cattle operation with the purebred cows as our main focus. We are currently calving out 255 cows with the majority of them purebreds with a few commercial cows that we use in the embryo program. The farm was started by my parents Donald and Patsy, mom still lives on the farm and we celebrated her 80th birthday last March. She still spoils us with her good cooking when she can and looks after most of the yard work there herself. The kids all have off farm jobs but help out when needed. We get lots of laughs from our 3 grandchildren Wyatt, Rylee and Korbyn who seem to be growing so fast. More exciting news as the family grows, Kris and Cera are to have a baby this coming August. Our bull pen for the 2022 bull sale is as strong as group as we have ever brought to town, the consistency and depth in the bull pen is second to none. We have calving ease, performance, maternally bred bulls or bulls that combine all three throughout the different sire groups that will meet your needs. We strive to use the best bulls we can thru exclusive semen packs or purchase the best walking herdbulls that we can to help move our program forward. We would really like to thank all of our past customers who have supported our program and look forward to meeting new customers and people along the way. One of the best attributes of the cattle industry is the friends and relationships that we build along the way. I really believe the cattle industry is in for some exciting times and good cattle will bring a premium. Along with our good friends the Klassen family we invite you to the sale. This sale offers a wide variety of bulls that will work in any type of program. We offer a payment plan that allows you to put ½ down sale day with the other half not due till fall interest free, we offer free delivery within the Peace Country. Bulls are all fully guaranteed and if you are not happy let us know and we will make it right. Mark your calendar for the 19th Annual Northern Classic bull sale March 11th at 1pm at Evergreen Park.

Bentley is one of the best investments we have ever made at JayDawn, this herdsire has done a fantastic job for us. He calves super easy, the calves have lots of vigor and are very consistent and grow well. The sons are super soft made with lots of thickness and rise to the top of the bull pen. The definition of a great herdsire is when the daughters come into production and that very well may be Bentleys best attribute yet as time will tell. His first daughters are calving this year and have all the makings of being great brood matrons. Excellent udders lots of milk and great little mother cows that will be around for the long haul. As you may have heard we sold the walking and semen rights to Bentley in the New Years Resolution sale to the excellent program of Perkin Land & Cattle Co where we know they will be very happy with him. You may ask why would you sell a great herdbull ?. Well we have the 3rd calf crop hitting the ground now, many daughters retained and with our extensive ai program our herdbulls get turned out after ai is complete. We also retained enough semen for in herd use that will cover all of our future needs for ai or flushing. Thanks again to Darryl and Tanya Perkin for your confidence in purchasing this great herdsire.

This Bentley son has been a favorite right from birth. Super stout made and sound to the ground. Soft made on a real moderate frame. His performance numbers are right where they need to be starting out at just 92 lbs and weaning off at 995 lbs ranking in the top 10 % in the breed for both weaning and yearling weights. His dam is a direct daughter of the great Pepsi 61U cow that backs many of the top pedigrees in the Simmental industry today, Wallbanger, Captain Morgan, Captain Scream the list goes on. She is a very moderate made cow with really good feet under her and has a ton of milk. This bull deserves to lead off the Bentley Sire group as he is right in so many ways and will work in a variety of programs.

32J is a bull that combines both calving ease and performance all in one package. The dam 435B is out of the Odin bull which we used in the heifer pen for a few years. Odin left us a very sound functional set of females that are very hard to beat. Good udders good feet and just plain useful type of cows and 435B is all that. Add in Bentley for added stoutness and completeness gives you 32J. This bull is stout made well balanced, ranks in the top 10 percent for weaning without sacrificing calving ease. This bull will work in any type of program give you peace of mind at calving while pushing down the scales at weaning.

Here is a black baldy bull with a little more frame than some of the other Bentleys in the sale. Frame size comes from the 7X cow that is a little larger framed. The 7X cow has been a no miss type of female, never had feet touched, never had to help calve and never had to help a calf suck. She is the type of cow that you want a whole herd of. 7X dam is a cow we purchased out of the KimLake dispersal was also a no miss cow. This bull will work wherever you put him with good results.

She is a large framed female that is one of our top females who has been a consistent producer for us. 195Y has brought as many bulls to this sale as any other females on the farm selling to some of the Peace Countries best cattle operations around. Peter Borgel 2021 & 2020, Dan &Kerry Lange 2018, Jim Peel 2017, Bud Coates 2015 and Codan Livestock in 2014. Treasure Island was a bull that we had been searching for a long time and being a polled bull was just a bonus. This attractive Fleck bull has exceeded all our expectations for us within the fleck division especially being polled to boot. Unique in his makeup with as much pigmentation, natural muscling and thickness that we could find in a polled bull, 49G met all the criteria without sacrificing calving ease, performance or maternal traits. He calved really well and gave us calves that performed excellent. We used him on the fullblood program and in the red & black program where he exceeded our expectations giving us calves with extra frame and performance which is exactly what we were targeting. Check out his sons on offer I’m sure you will be impressed as well This bull is jointly owned with our good friends Lorrie and Corey Beck.

Cows with really good udders and high milk production with excellent feet. This polled bull is super long and smooth made, he would work excellent on a set of second calvers. His calves will be born easy and grow well. The more you analysis this bull the more you will like him.

Couple years ago we sold ½ Interest in Night Hawk thru this same sale to the excellent Purebred operation Kathol Simmentals in Drayton Valley. We wanted to keep half interest in him to be able to use him in our heifer pen as we felt he was a pretty special individual. Super stout and hairy made yet born super easy and from an excellent cow family. We knew we needed to keep a piece of him and we are sure glad we did. The results of using him were beyond our expectations, not only did he calve excellent he gave us calves with some extra performance and a ton of hair. Both the bulls and heifer calves are exceeding our expectations. We are now calving out the second year of Night Hawks on our heifers with the same great results, he will be used heavy in the heifer pen again this spring.

Check out this calving ease prospect, both sides of the pedigree Night Hawk and Rampage are sires that we have used with great success in the heifer pen. This bull ranks in the top 5% for calving ease and the top 10% for birth weight within the breed. Just an 76lb birth weight and an impressive 815 weaning weight on a small frame Rampage daughter that be lucky if she herself was 1000 lbs in the fall. She has a perfect udder which is known of the Tear Drop cow family. We really like the Rampage females that we have had over the years, calve, really good udders and just good useful cows. This bull is long smooth made yet is stout when you get behind him. He has a ton of hair and is really nice headed. This bull will calve really well.

Multi Polled. Out of a female that we purchased from Maxwell Simmentals as a heifer calf in the Checkers sale in Red Deer. A hard working two year old that really produced well on her first go. These Night Hawks calves are hard to beat when it comes to calving ease yet they have that much desired extra performance we all want. They are born small and are quick to grow, they have a ton of hair and are stout made come fall. The daughters out of these Night Hawk bulls will be ones to put in the replacement pen.

Owned by our good friends Paul & Lori Kinee from Ten Bar Cattle Co., we were fortunate enough to be able to use this herd sire in our heifer pen for the last two years. They purchased him from Boundary Ranch and what a great investment he was. Not only is this bull a calving ease bull he is a bull that also adds that extra performance to his calves in the fall. Those type of bulls are hard to find and when you do you really appreciate the consistency in your calf crop come fall. Capone 91F has a perfect foot under him and his disposition is second to none.

Not only was 20J born small he grew rapid weaning off at 765lb. Have a good look at this bull he is very stout yet smooth made. His muscle expression is unreal for a calving ease bull and is super wide when you get behind him. This bull will give you calving ease and performance all in one package. Tons of performance, cattle with a little more frame and mass with excellent feet and udders is what this cow family is about. WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
Welcome from Willow Creek Simmentals Welcome to the 19th annual Northern Classic bull sale. 2021 was maybe as tough of a year on the agriculture industry as any in the past decade or maybe more. The lack of moisture throughout the first half of summer to that extreme heat for that week really made things tough for the industry. Many of us had to resort to purchasing the majority of our feed but thankfully from many of the producers and customers that I’ve talked to have rounded up enough to keep the majority of the herd which we feel is fantastic and hopefully things will look up for us cattle producers moving forward. For us we purchased a large quantity of feed but were able to retain 80% of the cow herd, due to strict culling and the sale of a large group of our young commercial cows to our good buddy Joe Loomis of Polar Farms. Although it was tough to see them cows go, the culling process on the rest of the herd has really made our herd that much stronger to provide you, our customer with even better maternal values from our genetics. Another exciting point this fall was the purchase of Spring Creek Launch out of the Meadow Acres dispersal. Launch is the proven powerhouse that produced the high selling bred heifer at the dispersal along with some of the very best 2yr old cows we have seen in some time. Launch may be the best footed bull we have viewed and to combine him with Popeye and Lotto we feel the foot quality on our herd sires have been second to none. Launch will be a huge part of our red program going forward. This year’s sale offering is solid from top to bottom. The offering is highlighted by a trio of Popeye sons off of Lotto daughters, a cross that has been absolutely dynamite for us. Quite possibly the best cross we’ve ever used. The rest of the Popeye sons pattern the popular sons last year, extremely stout made with tons of muscle shape, thick straight hair and the patented big Popeye feet. They will be quite popular sale day. The sale also has two red Lotto sons who will stand at the top of red bulls ever produced here. We also have a small selection of Defender sons who are the right type. Proclamation, Cobra and Red Whiskey round out the sire groups as they are proven genetics that have stood the test of time. As in past years the bulls have been developed in a large pasture that ensures the bulls get lots of exercise as they walk from end to end for their feed and water, as well as to the bedding grounds. We feel this keeps the bulls fresh and athletic, which allows them to get to work in the spring with ease. The bulls were fed the same as last year where they have a high roughage ration developed by Country Junction which includes an oat/barley silage, chopped hay and their right way bull ration. The Right Way bull ration is a starch free pellet that promotes lean muscle mass, and rumen health which ensures the bulls are getting all the proper nutrients and minerals to keep them extremely healthy allowing them to go to work in any environment and thrive. We really encourage anyone with interest to stop by the farm and tour the bulls in their home environment. We would also love to show you the cow herd and view any of the mothers of the sale bulls so you can ensure you are getting what you want in your potential new herd sire. We hope to see you all at Evergreen Park March 11 for the sale. We also will have the bulls videoed again on cattlevids. See you sale day!

It’s only fitting we start this year catalog with an absolute stud. Lambeau 64J has stood in a class of his own right from the start. Hes always displayed that extremely wide top and extra frame from a young age. This bull has been special and continues to prove he is a one of a kind performance bull that the cattle industry needs. You don’t find many bulls with this much size and stoutness but can yet be so sound structurally. Many who have toured the bull pen say that Lambeau may be the most complete made and structurally sound bulls produced here at Willow Creek and I would tend to agree with that. Popeye has sired some extremely heavy muscled bulls with added performance that have really impressed our customers, but we feel that Popeye out produced himself on this one. Any long time customers know how picky we are on feet and to us Lambeau is as good of a footed bull as we have raised. Backed by a cow family known here for milking extremely hard while maintaining superb udder quality and foot structure. Last years heavy weight sale bull was a Popeye off the 443Y cow. His dam would be one of the bigger framed, high volumed Lotto daughters we have. Lambeau is a bull we plan to utilize in our own program and hope to have semen froze by sale day. We have made many miles looking for a pure performance bull that is so structurally sound. The purebred and commercial industry needs more bulls that looks like this and we feel Lambeau will have a big impact for his new owners. Homo Polled/Black test pending

An extremely athletic bull that is going to cover large groups of cows with ease. He has that big sqaure foot structure and thick straight hair coat that Popeye throws on all his calves. His dam has raised some of the highest weaning bulls in the past including back to back 1000lbs weaning weight Missile sons going to Warkentin Land and Cattle and Ridgevalley Colony. Shes one of our favorite cows in the herd. Dam :: MMWK Shadow 62A

Without a doubt the most eye catching bull in the pen. It doesn’t take long to pick out this bull as he is so incredibly masculine. Mclaren would arguably be the heaviest muscled bulls we have raised. Even more impressive is you rarely find a bull that is this incredibly stout made but comes with such a moderate birthweight. A slim 84lbs birth weight to 900lbs at weaning and now crushing just shy of 1400lbs at a year is impressive. The dam of 101J is one definite farm favorite and what we classify as our ideal cow. What we classify as a picture perfect udder, tons of volume and excellent feet is what his dam is all about. We have 3 daughter retained and they are all proving there keep as young highly productive cows. A full sister to Mclaren is the best bred heifer this year and just calved, we would highly recommend coming to tour to see her. Mclaren should keep moderating birthweights and improve performance in his calf crops while leaving impressive daughters. Mclaren and Lambeau are without a doubt the most impressive pair of bulls we have raised, and this proves that this cross is absolute dynamite. Almost every one who tours picks a different bull as there favorite, so make the drive to Grande Prairie to decide your self, it will be worth your time! Homo Polled/Black test pending

This a bit of a younger bull that’s really just starting to come into his own. He is has the Popeye muscle shape and foot structure that we will sound like a broken record talking about. He is mothered by maybe the most productive cow to walk here at Willow Creek. She has raised more high selling cattle then any other cow we’ve owned. Shes still going strong here at 13yrs of age and still raised the highest weaning bull last year in a popular Lotto son going to Peter Borgel.
WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
This just proves that this Popeye x Lotto is easily the best cross we have ever had here. Two bulls that compliment each other so well, Popeye adds the impressive muscle shape and frame and Lotto bring tons of length and volume, add that together and you get these 3 powerhouse herdsire prospects that are going to impress come sale day. 53J himself is incredibly long spined, with an impressive hair coat and loads of muscle shape. He is a touch more moderate then his two 3/4 brothers but fits the same style. A Popeye son off the 406B cow was the high selling bull last spring to Rich Martens in Vanderhoof, I always told Rich and he agreed that the bull was one of the very best footed bulls id seen in some time. Udder quality also runs extremely high in this cow family. Note the modest 79lbs birthweight again here on this Popeye son. Its no fluke as his full sister born already this year was just as small as well. A curve bending cross backed by one of the best uddered young cows here. Homo Polled/Black test pending

We should have named this guy Brick because that’s exactly what he is. Moderate framed but has so much stoutness and substance to him that he really attracts you. 46J also has a little extra style to him that makes him one cool dude. His mother is one of our favorite young red cows that is a farm favorite cow among pasture tours. She has so much volume and body shape. We feel she has potential to be a future donor here as this cow family is a no miss type. These Popeye sons aren’t going to be hard to find sale day. Homo Polled test pending

The lone black heifer bull in this years offering. The 161X cow family has consistently produced low birthweight cattle for us without sacrificing to much performance. The low birthweights that Popeye can throw to really adds into a cool pedigree to get a calving ease bull with the likes of Popeye and Liner 56U in the pedigree. The 161X cow has sent some top bulls into many top herds in Northern Alberta with the likes of Balisky Farms, Ten Bar, Warkentin Land and Cattle, Dave Berry and Dustin Pohl. This would be the calving ease candidate in the red section. He is a maternal brother to our walking heifer bull Protocol, that we own along with Sorenson Cattle Co. Being off a young cow who is quickly becoming a favorite and is one of the best footed, best uddered young cows on the farm. As we did yearling weight’s I couldn’t help but noticed the impressive foot structure on 60J. He is a non diluter being off two black parents.

A few years ago we kept an interest back in a super high performance Cobra son to use in the commercial herd. He ended up getting a few purebred cows producing this red son and one of the best heifers in the replacement pen. A moderate made, homo polled, non diluter bull that has some good muscle shape. He patterns his maternal brother a lot that sold last spring to Randy Pockett. PAGE 37
WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
Direct sons off the legendary NCB Cobra are starting to become hard to find but we feel Viper is a bull that’s will create some attention sale day. It will be tough to find a deeper bodied, soggier made bull this spring that comes with some added style and clubby type hair. Viper is mothered by a first calf Captain Morgan daughter that we feel will be the future of our cow herd going forward as we plan to start flushing her this spring. She grew into a moderate made cow that is really hairy with an awesome udder and excellent feet under her. We typically wait to flush cows until they are a little more proven but with the cow family behind we feel the time is now to tap into these breed leading genetics. Not many first calvers can also raise a 900lbs calf these first try while weaning at the start of September. Exciting pedigree that has stood the test of time and is still rising to the top year after year. No guess work here.

This is definitley one of the more popular bulls in the pen. The lone black baldy bull this year but one that has so much length and style. He just has a look that catches your eye every time. The unique part is the pedigree, being sired by Defender, our former red herdsire that we unfortunately lost to injury this spring. 25J is off a cow the might be phenotypically the best cow on the place. A few years back her Red Whiskey daughter was a lead off open heifer at Checkers going to Greystone Cattle co. There is no doubt in my mind this will be one of the most talked about bulls in the entire sale barn come sale day.

What a chunk this Proclamation son is. Easily the most easy doing bull in the pen. All summer long he has been a extra chunky compared to the rest. His mother doesn’t have a very big udder but definitely has some cream in that milk. 32J isn’t the biggest framed bull in the pen but is very wide based and long spined. He really crushes the scales when he comes across with a 870lbs weaning weight off a first calf heifer, then to a 1340lbs yearling weight. We all know pounds pay when we sell calves in the fall, this guy will do just that. Homo Polled test pending

Probably the largest framed and longest bodied bull of the Proclamation x Ambassador bulls. Stemming from the popular Linette cow family that is one of the very best cow family’s in the entire breed. His great grand dam, Linette 823U is one of the most popular donor cows in Canada. Take note that this bulls dam is a maternal sister to the impressive Mclaren bull that will highlight our sale offering. Power is in the blood on this guy and make sure you keep every daughter. Definitely the bull in the pen with the most hair. He has an extremely thick wavy haircoat as you can see in his picture. Lotto has always left heavy haired progeny. This big framed, long spined bull will produce some highly productive females. Take note he is a full brother to the dam of Lambeau 64J. Thats a pretty good sign of what to expect from him. His maternal brother was our heavy weight Popeye son last year that crushed the sale scale to 1660lbs heading to our good neighbors Lee and Margo Stevenson. Keep every daughter off him and your herd will be impressive.

For years our red bull pen has been highlighted by these Red Whiskey sons. As usual 61J is a large framed bull with added length and carries the highly sought after blaze face. 61J moves out extremely well on a large sqaure foot. This is the type of bull that will cover your pastures with ease. His dam 61A is proving to be one of the most consistent producing cows on the ranch. Year after year you can count on her to bring in one of the most exciting calves. She has produced numerous high sellers including the lead off red female at checkers a few years ago to Circle G, and a high selling Lotto son the next year to Alan and Shelley Landaker. We seen this Lotto son last summer out at Alans and he is impressive. A full sister to 61J is one of our favorite bred heifers. Homo Polled test pending

This is a super hairy dark red Red Whiskey son that will leave some beautiful replacement females. He has a shot of fullblood in his pedigree which we have always liked as a cross. A maternal brother last year went to Warkentin Land and Cattle. He was our highest performing bull weighing nearly 1700lbs at the sale. This would be one of our best footed cow family’s.

Redwood is the highest performing bull at weaning that we have ever had. Crushing the scale to 1060lbs on September 6 is truly impressive. I don’t think there has ever been a red Lotto or Lotto son in fact with this much performance. Redwood is much more then a strict performance bull, this is a bull that’s going to leave an absolutely beautiful set of replacement females. His full sister just calved and set up a beautiful udder. They can produce to as his maternal sister is the dam of COLB 46J, she would be one of our favorite red cows in the herd. I feel Redwood is a bull that is capable of doing it all, siring scale crushing steers or top quality females that will be extremely easy to market if your willing to part with them. His dam 44B is clutch when it comes to raising good ones. Her first calf was a Sheriff son who may have created the most interest we’ve ever had on a bull eventually topping the sale that year at $10,000 to Brooks Simmentals. Her next bull was our leadoff Red Whiskey son to the Kinnee’s at Ten Bar. Redwood is the real deal! Homo Polled test pending.

From the day this guy was born the plan was that he would be staying here to work in our commercial herd, but with our latest acquisition of Launch we have enough bull power. He is the final calf of a mating of Lotto to our old fullblood cow who was one of the best cow to ever walk our pastures. It really is a shame we didn’t flush her before she got to old. 43T was an absolute tank of a cow that was literally our ideal cow. When we sold our fullblood cows her daughter lead off the sale and created alot of attention going to West Gold Simmentals. Heritage will probably be the very best female making bull we have ever raised when you combine the female producing quality of Lotto with the qualities and track record that 43T brought to the table. Heritage himself is a larger framed bull that is extremely soft made, has large testicles and an unbelievable hair coat. Hes a true beef bull that’s for sure. If our entire bull pen was like him we would be doing very well. With 43T now deceased this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to tap into a bull of this quality off of her. If you are in the business where you sell commercial females then i highly recommend taking a look here, the investment will be worth it.

You will be hard pressed to find a darker red bull anywhere. Sired by the calving ease specialist Kuntz Sheriff, this guy did for some reason come with a little more birthweight. I would say he’s a bull best suited for first calving cows but with Sheriff may end up working on heifers in the future. He is off one of our favorite young cows which goes back to 61A who is one of our top cows. Lots of shape and eye appeal on this moderate made bull.

Extremely long spined and large testicles combined with his dark red color make this an attractive bull. He is a little younger in age and is a bull we feel will have a lot to offer down the road. His dam is one of the best cows on the ranch. She was one of Colby’s top picks of the Maxwell bred heifers the year he bought her. She is the same cherry red color, massive bodied and has perfect feet under her. We have a few daughters in the herd and they are some of our favorite young cows.

A real deep bodied Defender son that comes with the highly desired blaze face. The Defender sired cattle are true beef cattle that will definitely add some pounds to there calves. We unfortunately lost Defender last spring so take advantage of these few sons, there wont be anymore. We used a maternal brother to this bull on our heifers for a few years and they sure have small, tidy udders on them.

Launch
We first got the recommendation on Launch from Taylor Richards last summer that he was super impressed with the Launch females at Meadow Acres. When we got to Meadow Acres for the dispersal sale and started looking through the pens we quickly noticed a trend in the 2 yr old cow pen. As we looked through that pen Dad would say Lot numbers he liked, almost every response was Launch. We have always wanted to incorporate a Liner 56U son into the herd and are excited to welcome Launch. He will definitely add to the maternal strength of the cow herd and produce high quality progeny for years to come. Launch very well could be the best footed bull we’ve seen in person.
Angus Division
We have discussed it for years about adding a small black angus division to Willow Creek to better serve all our customers herd bull needs. Many of our customers run both black angus and Simmental’s so we thought why not provide them with both options. We chose the Poplar Meadows female sale to begin our Angus journey. I have worked for Tanya at shows numerous times and very after year the structural soundness, and maternal cow power has always impressed us. Two things that we strive for here. We look forward to building a small but elite angus cow herd providing a few bulls every year. The plan is to provide a of each, calving ease and performance-based genetics to try and fill all the needs of our customers. We are super excited to start this new venture!
