Welcome to the 17th Northern Classic Sale
Welcome to the 17th Annual Northern Classic Bull sale. As we enter another bull sale its really hard to believe a year has come and gone so quickly. 2019 was a year for the record books with lots of rain in the Peace Country. Haying, silaging and the grain harvest was a real struggle to get done with lots of crop still left in the field awaiting harvest in the spring. 2019 the cattle markets remained strong for the most part with some up and downs. One thing for sure is the market really had a demand for exotic cross calves which were bringing a premium especially on the bigger calves. The importance of performance in our calves remains strong while maintaining calving ease and maternal traits to get us there. Alberta continues to be a leader in the beef industry with its products being some of the most sought after world wide. Both programs have stayed very committed to the cattle industry, always searching for new genetics to advance our programs to the next level through purchasing top end walking bulls or buying semen packs from some of the most sought after genetics in the cattle industry. We are constantly working on putting the best possible cow herd together to raise the best possible set of bulls for you, our customers. Both programs are family based operations where everyone is involved in the farm and fill important roles. We continue to offer the payment plan with half down sale day and the other half due November 1st 2020. We continue to offer free delivery in the Peace region and do our utmost to get them delivered right to your farm. We continue to offer sight unseen purchases and work very closely with you to find a bull that will meet your needs. Both farms guarantee our bulls so if a problem arises with your purchase, please contact us immediately so we can work with you to solve the problem. If you are not happy then neither are we. This years bull pen is the strongest set we have brought to town yet. Breed leading genetics obtained by using exclusive semen packs, top end walking herd bulls and extensive embryo work that will be the first to be offered in the Peace Country. This year we have on offer Full Flecks, Fullbloods, Red and Black Simmental bulls along with a group of Charolais bulls.
Jaydawn Farms & Willow Creek Simmentals
Welcome from Bohrson Marketing Services
On behalf of Bohrson Marketing, we would like to welcome you to the Northern Classic Bull Sale. It’s with great honour that we are asked to assist with this powerhouse bull sale that annually offers the very elite of the Simmental and Charlais breeds. Both Darryl and Taylor had the privilege to tour and analyze these great bull pens in mid-February and they were equally impressed. When going through the JayDawn bulls, you have to appreciate the consistency and no nonsense approach to each of their breeding programs. There is a wide selection of bulls to choose from if your looking for that next calving ease sire, or your next power bull. The emphasis on cow power is evident as JayDawn as they’re a fairly closed herd that annually retains their elite females, which in turn offers you an outstanding set of bulls yearly. Willow Creek Simmentals are passionate about the Simmental breed and have a strong, select, highly productive cowherd. They annually bring a sought after set of bulls that are targeted towards excelling for their customers and this has resulted in a strong reputation. This years set of bulls are as deep as ever and will be sure to impress with quality and consistency. These great folks are some of the very best to work with and source your next herd bull from. We look forward to visiting with you before the sale they know the bulls better than anyone. If you are unable to attend this sale please don’t hesitate to contact the consignors or Darryl to find that right herd sire for you. Hope to see you at the Evergreen Park on sale day!

Direrctions to Evergreen Park
JAYDAWN FARMS
Welcome from JayDawn Farms On behalf of the crew at JayDawn Farms I would like to Welcome you to the 17th Annual Northern Classic bull sale which will be held at Evergreen Park in the Drysdale building on Friday March 13th at 1 pm. Please come join us for lunch prior to the sale at noon, attend the sale and stick around for some hospitality after the sale. The Older I get it seems that time becomes more precious and life gets busier making it tougher to get everything done. This last year has been a complete blur and its really hard to believe we are prepping for our 17th annual bull sale. 2019 was definitely a year to remember being busy both with the farm and the family. A very wet summer made haying, silaging and grain harvesting very challenging for everyone across the Peace Country and we were no different with having still 700 plus acres of crop to deal with in the spring. With that said the agriculture industry and especially cattle producers seem to be resilient and will tough it through and make the best of it. The highlight of the year for JayDawn was a wedding in Mexico where our oldest son Jordan and Brittney got married. Long overdue holiday for the family which was enjoyed by all the family and some real close friends. For those that we have not met JayDawn is a family based operation located in Teepee Creek, located North East of Grande Prairie. The farm was started by my parents Don & Patsy, mom still lives on the farm and spoils us with cooking dinners whenever she can. Our kids Jordan, Kris and Darcie help out when they can and we really appreciate the help. We have two grandchildren Wyatt and Rylee who bring us lots of laughs and really make us realize how important family really is. We run a mixed cattle grain operation with our main focus on the cattle. We run a purebred herd along with some commercial cows that we use as receips in our embryo program. We are calving out 235 cows plus 35 custom cows this year, with the plans to breed about 300 of our own females this spring. We use extensive ai for 30 days before turning out the herdbulls. The cow herd is on a strict program which we cull heavy for udders, feet, fertility and nature. Our cows and heifers are expected to calve easy and bring in big calves in the fall. Our program consists of Fullbloods, Full Fleckvieh, Red & Black Simmentals, Charolais and a group of commercial cows. We are always on the hunt for new genetics and spare no expense when purchasing new genetics whether It’s through semen for ai or walking herdsires. We really appreciate and would like to thank everyone who has supported our program over the years and look forward to continuing business with you. We look forward to meeting new customers as well. We are very committed to the cattle operation. We know that everything we do will sometimes not work out and we just need to cut our losses no matter what. We strive to raise the best product possible both purebred and commercial and are very proud of what we do here at JayDawn. If you have any troubles with a purchase from JayDawn Farms contact me immediately and we will get the problem resolved. Our motto is simple “If you are not happy then neither are we!” We look forward to working with our past customers and meeting new ones as well. If you have any questions about our program call or stop in anytime the coffee is always on and we will gladly discuss our program with you.

Full Brothers. Here is a pair of powerhouse sons of the great Pepsi cow definitely deserve to lead of this years sale. Moderate birth weights with explosive performance in a pedigree that is bred to be great. These embryo bulls are very long and stout made with a ton of hair. Big testicles with excellent feet and a very quiet dispositions. Their pedigree is stacked with the who’s who in the simmental breed. Their dam JDF Pepsi 61U has been a no miss female and cranks out the good ones no matter who she’s bred to. She has been successfully flushed over the years. A lot of the simmental breed stems back to this great donor cow when you start looking thru the pedigrees. The sire is no other than Captain Scream a bull that no doubt created a ton of excitement within the breed. His semen is very sought after and hard to come by. I think the best of Captain Scream is yet to come as the daughters come into their peak production years. This pair of bulls are backed by a pedigree that is tried tested and true… don’t miss out on these bulls as they are true herdsires in the making.

Another embryo bull that stands right at the top of the pen. Very moderate, stout made with an excellent disposition best describes 1G. This black baldy bull has been a pen favorite all year. He is the second flush that we did on the 16X cow who has been a real top producer for us hence why she is in the donor pen. The first flush to Westcott was very successful with producing both top end bulls and females. Her second flush to Missile just proved to us that no matter what this cow is mated to she cranks out the good ones. We have three full sisters to 1G in the keeper pen with a flush mate selling last Decembers to Perkins Land and Cattle at Checkers. 16X has perfect feet, a real nice udder and a disposition that is second to none. This baldy bull will work on a variety of programs, if your looking to keep females then look to 1G.

In 2018 we flushed all 3 of our donor cows to MRL Missile as he is one of the top ai sires on the market who produces both top end bulls and females. The mating to the Rebecca 502R proved just that giving us heifer calves that one would want a whole pen of and gave us only one bull which we are very happy with. 19G is as smooth made as one can make him with a very nice front end yet is stout and deep sided. He is very correct made and gets out and moves very freely. The 502R cow is 15 this spring, never had her feet touched, never had to help a calf suck and has an excellent up tight udder for a cow her age. She has been in the donor pen with matings to Red Mountain , Westcott and Missile. No matter what she is bred to she produces both top end bulls and females.

Here is a direct son of Missile and another one of our donor cows that knows how to crank out the good ones. 17x is known as the bull producer here at JayDawn, a pedigree that we wanted to expand on so we flushed her to Missile. Zenyetta is a big powerhouse female with excellent feet and an excellent udder and her production records are superior. 3 of her most notable sons have sold to the excellent commercial programs of Paul & Lori Kinnee and Duane Kinnee. We are very excited with the results in this flush giving us 2 bulls and 3 heifers born in 2019 with more on the ground in 2020. They are born easy and grow rapidly just as all her offspring do. Another bull from the 2019 calf crop was at the top of the pen but got hurt just prior to cataloging, 2 black heifers are at the top of the replacement pen with the 3rd stout red heifer selling to excellent operation Albrecht Farms down at Checkers Sale last December. 9G is very smooth made and gets out and travels very freely on excellent feet and legs. He is stout made with lots of depth throughout, he will work is just about any type of program.

We only have two direct sons of LFE Riddler this year on offer. 7G is a real long made Riddler son that has a ton of performance to him. Very stout made and has lots of thickness when you get in behind him. His dam 425B stems back to one of our favorite cow families the Bobby Sox cow family. Moderate made cows with excellent feet and are very easy doing females. The have excellent udders with a ton of milk and gentle dispositions. A full brother sold to the good commercial program of Ray Unrah of Nampa last year. This cow family knows how to produce with the dam Bobby Sox 70X still in production and a daughter with one of our best calving ease bulls on offer JDF 40G. There is no guess work in this pedigree.

If you are looking for a performance bull to increase frame and length in your calves then look to 53G. Here is one of the longest smooth made bulls in the whole offering, 53G is a Riddler grandson that is stacked with maternal power on both sides of the pedigree. His sire 110D was sold to the excellent program of Al Landaker in the 2017 sale as one of the high sellers. We retained a share in 110D to use as cleanup bull mainly because of the Red Doll cow family and the performance in this pedigree. A cow family that has been some of our top producers year after year bringing in our best calves both male and female. 53G’s Dam is a big beautiful black baldy cow that has perfect udder with a ton of milk. She is out of the PRL Unlimited bull that left us with tremendous females. 110D left us with a solid set of bulls in the pen and we are very excited about the heifer calves in the replacement pen. 53G will be easy to find on sale day. He will produce big soggy steers that will top the market and replacements you can’t get enough of.

The mating between Brooks and Wallbanger really clicks for us. 35G is a full brother to 32F who sold to the excellent commercial program of Ed Yuha in last years sale. Much like his brother 35G is super long and smooth made. Super nice fronted this bull will calve super easy. His dam 216Z is just a good honest cow that really can produce. She has a good udder with lots of milk and really good feet. She gave us a Brooks heifer this year that will be sure to be at the top of the replacement pen.

13G has been a pen favorite right from birth. His dark red cherry color and big wrap around goggles grab your attention. He is super long smooth made, deep sided and is stout when you get behind him. His dam is a direct Rocket female a sire that is known for his excellent females ranking very high in all the maternal traits . Good feet, good udders, excellent productivity and longevity lines his pedigree. His sire Budha a bull we bought from Czech-mate was very stout made with a ton of middle and backed by the Soda Pop cow family who is also very maternal. 13G will give you a tremendous set of steers and replacements you can’t get enough of. This bull will work in a variety of programs.

Another heifer bull we have used with great success in our heifer pen is the Rampage bull. His semen is now no longer available which we were very disappointed about. Not only did Rampage work so well in the heifer pen he left us with some awesome females. The females are moderate and stout made with awesome udders and are great mother cows. 54G is out of another Riddler female and really produced on her first go. The Mattie cow family have really nice udders with perfect teat size. 54G has a real nice small head on him and is super long and smooth made. These Rampage bulls are very moderate and stout when you get in behind them. If you want calves that are born super easy and grow excellent with leaving awesome replacement females then look to one of these Rampage sons.

He is very smooth made yet has some muscle shape to him. Backed by a very maternal cow family, this bull ranks in the top 10% for milk and maternal calving and within the top 5% for calving ease. It was a very exciting day when we stepped up to the plate and purchased IPU Bentley from Labatte Simmentals for $92,000. This black baldy bull was highly sought after and we are very fortunate to have landed him at JayDawn. He is super soggy and soft made, he gets out and travels so freely and has a gentle disposition. We feel that he will take our program to the next level. We have a real good sample of calves on the ground with both the heifers and the bull calves looking superior. Birth weights are right where they need to be with most between 85 -100 lbs all unassisted. Calves get up quickly and rapidly growing with exceptional hair coats. He is stamping quite a few with a real nice blaze with both black and red calves on the ground. Reports from other breeders who bought semen packs last spring are coming in with all positive feedback. This black baldy caught the eye of many astute cattle breeders across North America and we are very thankful for the support in the number of people who purchased semen packs last spring and then again at Agribition where his semen averaged 330 a dose. Thanks to these Progressive Breeders who bought semen Packs

Long made with a real wide top to him. He has a ton of hair and good feet under him. The Downtown calves have extra performance to them and really perform. 26G’s dam was purchased out of the SanDan herd, she is a bull maker. 36G is a calving ease bull, we dug deep into the semen tank and used Playboy a bull that we bred and raised. Playboy is backed by a very good cow family and a farm favorite Copy Cat who was Jordans first 4H cow. Copy Cat still resides at JayDawn at the age of 17. 36G is out of a moderate made Blitz first calver that has a bright future ahead of her. This bull has calving ease built into his pedigree and will give you trouble free calving.

WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
Welcome from Willow Creek Simmentals First and foremost we want to welcome you to the 17th annual Northern Classic bull sale. We have really enjoyed the past 11yrs working along side the Mcquaig family with the Northern Classic. Its no secret that 2019 has been one of the most challenging years to date. It started with the month long cold snap in February and shifted to non stop rain most the summer and right onto fall. We know that a lot of you, our customers, along with many friends and neighbors still have a good portion of the crops out in the field and under snow. But if theres one thing that stayed strong through it all, it was the cattle. With all the rain this summer it made for great pastures and hay crops. We especially noticed it when we were able to leave cows out grazing this fall for an extra 25 days compared to normal. Along with all the grass meant fat cows which also meant heavier weaning weights this fall. This years bull pen we feel is the strongest to date as we think we have put together a pen of extremely consistent, long, stout made bulls that will really add pounds to there new owners calf crops. This was our heaviest weaning pen of bulls to date averaging over 900lbs in mid September. It was quite evident this fall that the heavy weight steers really put more money in the ranchers pocket. We feel we have assembled a group of bulls that are as sound footed and structurally correct as we have ever produced. We put a lot of emphasis on our momma cows where we have strict criteria on udder structure and feet. We were really humbled by the comments we received this summer about our cow herd as we hosted the PCBC AGM and field tour. This years group of bulls, like the past have been developed on the Country Junction bull pellet that is a starch free based pellet promoting the development and longevity of these bulls. They have also been fed a haylage based feed and are wintered in a 5 acre field so that the bulls have lots of excersise and really have to get out and move. We take great pride when we tour customers fields and see bulls still walking at 8-10yrs of age. We remain commited to you our customers, by bringing our very best to town and are constantly on the search for new and improved genetics to move our program forward. With an extensive Ai and embryo program we feel we offer a diverse gene pool that Maintains a focus on feet and udder structure on the cows. Calving ease and performance to produce calves that push the scales down. Like last year we have a large group of Spring Creek Lotto sons that we feel is as strong of a sire group as we have produced. We calved out 15 Lotto daughters this spring and they have PERFECT udders and all have strong calves at side. If you are in the area we invite you out to view them as were extremely proud of them. This year we also added LFE Amber Jack to our AI group to bring a different twist in the red pedigrees. He sired a strong set of low birthweight, high performing bulls that are dark red, long and stout made. Then we have past sires like Red Whiskey, Missile, and Absolute that continue to sire strong calves year after year. If you are ever in the Debolt area we invite you to stop by and tour the bulls along with there mothers. If you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to call or text Colby or Mike. We Hope to see you March 13 at Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie

WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
Lisa 161X was purchased out of the Spring Creek production sale a few years back for $11,000. She was the 3rd lead off cow in the impressive first group of Liner 56U cows. We wanted to incorporate some Liner 56U into our program and when we found 161X we were excited. Before coming to Willow Creek she raised at $40,000 Lotto son going to EDN Simmentals. Since coming here her production record has kept up to par. We have a beautiful first calving daughter that has an absolutely perfect udder. She was then flushed the following spring to LFE Amber Jack which produced 12 embryos. These three sons we feel are a perfect example of what kind of production she can do. We also have a flushmate sister and a Lotto sister in the replacement pen as well as two black sons for next years sale, one Lotto and another Amber Jack who are both among the best calves in this years crop. Lisa 161X was worth the money and it sure shows her consistency in production here!

Quite possibly the longest spined bulls we have every seen. Spectrum is a bull we admire a lot, his cherry red color really adds to the package but we love the larger frame size and over all muscle shape he provides along with the big square feet. This is a bull we really admire the size and structure of his foot. He also boasts a super thick, wavy haircoat and huge testicle development. His dam came to us as one of the lead off cows out of the Spring Creek female sale where we purchased her for $11,000 and has been worth the money. Spectrum is the lead son of this impressive flush to Amber Jack. Lisa 161X is a big bodied, excellent footed daughter of the great Liner 56U who has become known as maybe the best female producing sire in the entire breed. We feel Spectrum has a lot to offer to the cattle industry. We all know length =pounds and he really displays that with his 965lbs WW mid September. Serious cattlemen have a look here. Without a doubt the stoutest bull in the pen! The amount of style and muscle mass that Jacked Up exemplifies is truly impressive. These flushmates have been pen favorites right from day 1 and it has continued right throughout there life. Like the rest of this flush the foot structure on this bull is exactly what we strive for. We really admire this bull a lot and he made a lot of friends at the Peace Country beef congress where he, and his brother Spectrum 68G were part of the Champion pen of 3 bulls which really speaks to the consistency of this flush. Judge Mike Panasiuk of Springside Charlois really praised the overall thickness, structural soundness and large testicles on the group. Like his brothers, Jacked Up we feel will continue to be crowd favorite come sale day. Homo Polled by Parentage.

This guy comes as the smaller bull of the powerful flush by 161X and Amber Jack. Amber Jack has really added that dark red color, along with massive muscle shape to all his calves. Although Amber Ale is a bit smaller then his flushmates be sure to not look him over. He ended up with the weakest recip of the groupnso its not really his fault but the genetic package is there. Large testicled, huge hipped and again that ideal structural soundness that the entire flush proves. I feel repetitive but we really cant stress how impressed we are with this flush. Red Whiskey has without a doubt been the best red sire we have ever used and I think that anyone who has attended the sale in years past can agree as he has produced more high seller then any bull we’ve used. Although Dark Whiskey is the lone Whiskey son this year I think he’d compete with the best we’ve offered to date. Like many brothers in the past he his long spined, real deep right back through his flank and stout made. The deep cherry red color and bald face really makes him that more attractive. His dam is a heavy fullblood influenced cow that has as good of an udder as any cow on our farm. She is a real model cow here who is just starting her production and I think the future is very bright for her. The third member of the ever so consistent Pen of 3 Champion bulls at the PCBC. With the amount of length and thickness this bull packs in he will sire steers that crush the scale down, yet make females that make the neighbors drool.

She was a feature and high seller at the 25th annual Checkers sale where she brought $12,000 to First Class Cattle where she will enter there donor lineup this spring. She is back here at Willow Creek and we truly invite anyone out to view her as she is a model female already with an absolutely perfect udder. I guess its no surprise that 38G is as good as he is as the power runs in this genetics and hes gonna be a big time herdsire for one lucky cattleman. When we say keep every daughter of his, we truly meant it as these Lotto daughters are simply the best weve ever had. 38G himself is a massive ribbed, long made bull with a ton of muscle shape. He displays a lot of style and smoothness through his front 1/3. If your business is selling females then I highly recommend making the trek to Grande Prairie March 13.

We cannot say enough good things about what Lotto has done for our program. Lotto has added a ton of consistency to our program. You know you are gonna get a moderate framed, soggy made calf that’s heavy muscled and extremely sound on there feet and legs. If your looking to add some frame and length to your calf crop then consider 256G. The production record of his dam is simply impressive with 2 sons to Paul and Lori Kinnee, 2 to Scarlett Livestock, and others to Warkentin Bros, Ridgevalley Colony, Darryl Klassen, and Dallas Frank. Just going by the list of top cattlemen there you know the quality she produces. 256G is a bit younger and old 256U has dipped in milk production after we had to take her eye out 2 years ago but the genetic package is still here. Just look up her sons, in her prime she was a consistent 1000lbs producer on September 1. He may not be as big and stout as some other bulls in the sale but the genetics are there to be great.
WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
One of the highest performing Lotto sons to date here at Willow Creek. When we pictured it was quite obvious at the added size this bull brings to the table. Hes a big frame, incredibly long and massive hipped in a cool baldy package. Big Rig is exactly that, big in every way. His dam is a beautiful dark red heavy fullblood influenced cow that many visitors pick out. She has sent sons to Scarlett Livestock, Birch Meadows Colony and two full sibs to Ruttan Land and Cattle, and Nine Mile Ranch. Big time performance bull that will sire impressive females along with big steers.

It may start sounding repetitive but the females this Lotto son will produce will be ones to build a herd around. His dam was Colby’s top pick when he selected a group of bred heifers right from the top of the Maxwell Simmentals herd. A maternal sister to 24F raised last years feature calving ease sire going to Beechinor Bros Simmentals and John has some high praise for him already. Other sisters are some of the feature cows in Colbys herd. This guy will service a big group of cows for his new owner and added value when you need 2yr old bulls to run in the grazing leases. We only have 1 red calving ease bull but he sure is a cool one. WFL Absolute is a bull weve had extremely good luck with in the heifer pen as they come with zero issues and grow to be a good calf. This dark red bull is very smooth in his makeup, moderate framed and has a real presence to him. He is backed by a really nice Red Whiskey first calver that really did a good job on him. She is backed by a solid cow family that has produced Corporal, a bull we kept and used on our own heifers (he left a really nice set of females here), and also we just sold a awesome full sister to 79G dam at Checkers to OKAY Farms at Red Deer. Buy this bull with confidence that you can sleep at night while your heifers calve.

Another powerful Absolute son that really pushes the scales down. Both at weaning and yearling this bull has really pushed the scales down for a calving ease bull. A mere 83lbs bw then exploding to a 910lbs weaning weight in mid September is simply impressive and all anyone can ask for in a calving ease bull. Backed by a beautiful uddered, bigger framed young cow that has really proved to be a producer just by her first try.

This Lotto son is bigger framed bull that comes with a lot of length and stoutness and the typical thick Lotto hair. You will notice that 420G comes with quite a large birthweight but don’t let that hinder your opinion on this bull. He was born 11 day over due, and came out as along as a freight train. We have noticed a lot of Lotto calves come out with a bit more birthweight but they are born so long and are made right that we very rarely ever help one. We all know at weaning that length= pounds and same goes for the birthweight. He is backed by the ever so impressive 420A donor cow that’s sure been making a name for herself with her early production. Her first daughter sold for $20,000 to Gibbons Farms. Her flush to Captain Morgan has been impressive to say the least. Back to back Grand Champion heifers at the PCBC, a powerful female at Maxwell Simmentals and 2 stout bull calves on the ground now that are impressive already. This bull will without a doubt be a udder improver. Some lucky rancher will get a heck of a bull at a discount solely based on his birthweight, I encourage you to look past it for what he really is as I don’t expect him to have any calving issues.
WILLOW CREEK SIMMENTALS
Definitely a bull that’s gonna have a lot of circles and check marks by him in the catalog at the sale. Lotto Max is a moderate made bull that just really has the herd bull look to him. He is super hairy with a really nice square foot that translates into his very correct leg structure. The muscle expression he has is impressive to go along with his soggy rib shape. This is a bull we have been very high on since an early age. His dam has been a herdbull producer with sons at Eldred Ratzlaffs, Landaker Charlois and Fern Ochrans. She is a bigger made Stubby daughter that has great feet and great udder suspension. This is definately her best son to date and he is a dandy. If your in the market for one of the better Lotto sons we’ve produced to date have a look here, hes worth the trip to Grande Prairie.

Old 26U has produced many great females here. If you go look up the Missile 62G bull you will see was the highest weaning bull at 1035 lbs, his full brother was last years heaviest weaning bull as well that sold to Warkentin Bros. Both them bulls are out of a maternal sister to 26G. One of our best first calvers is also a maternal sister to him as well. When you add in Lotto to the 26U got a highly maternal bull that will sire some big time females. With the maternal side being impressive its tough not to notice the shear power in 26G. He has the added frame and length that shows why he has that big weaning weight. Structurally sound and thick butted make this bull rank very high on our list. His picture definately doesn’t do him any justice, he’s one of our very best blacks this year.

Really take note of the birthdate on this awesome lotto son. Just a march born birthday but he has really kept up with the rest as he weaned off at 855lbs at 7.5 months old. One of the best haired, longer made bulls in the pen that has a different twist to his pedigree as his dam is off our former walking fullblood bull, Element who now resides at Todd Donaldsons. His dam has a flawless udder and is backed by a solid cow family as her maternal sister has been a big time producer for Beechinor Bros raising many high selling bulls through there sale. This is a bull that will without a doubt be an udder improver and sire some highly productive females. I know it sounds so repetitive but these Lotto daughters we have are truly some of the best females we have ever had. We invite anyone to come see them at the farm, were pretty proud of them.

1292767 // MMWK 113G // March 5, 2019 // Polled // Black I really do think Kyle said it best when we were picturing bulls,” hes a man among boys in here.” We think it couldn’t be more true. Unquestionably the highest performing bull ever produced at Willow Creek. He crushed the scale down to 1020lbs at just 8 months old at weaning and then again at 1430lbs at only 10.5 months old at yearling weights. Big Black as hes known around here is just massive in every way, big framed, super long spined, real wide based and just has that herdsire look to him. He does have a larger birthweight but I can honestly tell you he was the fastest born calf in the entire 2019 calving season. He was just dam near as long when he came out as he is now and we know that adds weight, just look at his weaning weight. It was very obvious this fall that you really make a lot more money on your calves the heavier they are. Its pretty evident this guy will add pounds to your calf crop. His dams passed 3 sons have all weaned over 1000lbs, talk about production. All this factors into our decision to retain the spring breeding rights on this beast of a bull for the use in our commercial cow herd. Hes just to good not to utilize in our own herd. He is unregistered right now but we are working to see if we can register him. We will have more info by the sale. We will be selling the summer breeding rights. We will walk him until June 1 and then he will be available to the new owner.

This years heavy weight of then pen! He really crushed the scale down to 1035lbs mid September. This marks the second year in a row that 62A has raised the heaviest weaning bull in the pen, last years full brother sold to Warkentin Bros where he has turned into a very impressive herdsire. Consistency is in the blood on this mating. The depth of rib on this Missile son is pretty impressive. This is a true beef bull, that will definitely add some muscle expression and shape to his calves. The Surge 38X cows we have are sure big time producers that will consistently wean the heaviest calves and we feel his dam 62A is one of the very best.Â

The MRL Missile progeny here have sure been the right kind consistently year after year. Missile is the type of bull to add some rib shape and improve foot structure. 443G comes with a little added frame then most Missile calves. His dam was purchased from the Twin Brae dispersal in Manitoba and has shown to be a super solid footed excellent uddered cow that can really raise a calf. Her Lotto daughter just calved a few days ago as I write this and man is she one of out favorites in an impressive group of Lottos.

Maybe a bit on the smaller side when it comes to frame but he maybe the the stoutest bull in the pen besides that. He is just about as wide as he is tall and the definition of a tank. We purchased his dam out of Checkers from Jodi Hampton and its proving to be a very smart buy. HEr bull last year went to Dale Martinson in High Prairie. She is a beautiful black blaze faced cow with an ideal udder structure and can milk like crazy for a small udder. Its hard not to like this bull.
