Over 3 decades of sales is truly something to be proud of as the Keystone Klassic Angus sale celebrates its 35th annual consignment sale in 2023. The 33 lots are a great example as to why this longstanding sale has been so successful as you see the great breeders that have brought an outstanding set of Red and Black genetics. The bred heifer division is as deep in quality as ever before with many proven, productive cow families backing them. These are future herd matrons that you can tie into with confidence. The calendar year heifer calves are a fancy set and many of them have made a trip to town already to compete in the show ring. This is your chance to grab a female to jackpot around next year and then let them ease into the transition of production as they are bred and fed to compete and then go on to make cows. Again this year the Keystone Klassic Angus group is pleased to be joining forces with the Keystone Konnection Simmental sale to host one large event, the same time, same place. This partnership of Angus and Simmental breeders is truly a great way to host one of Manitobas largest and highest quality sales with these two great breeds. This makes the Keystone the place to be for one of the must attend events of the fall on December 5th. POWER Female is the easiest way to discribe 3L. I dont think we have ever bred a female like her, she starts so sound at the ground and then just moves into and explosive hip, a big middle and top all tied together in a super eye appealing package. Her sire was one of the most talked about bulls in the yards in Denver in 2020. He combines a very unique pedigree back by two extremely powerful females from the PVF donor line up. Every year when NCC 1E has a heifer I tell myself that I need to keep her and every year the sales management pics her heifer for sales. Zara Lisa is a nice little heifer that has a lot of eye appeal and will grow up to be a very good cow that will raise you some bull calves. She was shown at Ag Ex and was competitive in her class. She is ready for a junior to take her down the show road next year. 8L’s half sister sold last year in the Agribition sale and went to a young junior who was very successful with her.

Well here we go with another HF Roper from a Jestress cow. Just like the heifer that sold through the sale last year to the Sies Family, this one exhibits that bold massive rib, extra length and a nice clean extended front end. Throw in the Brooking Sterling bull on the bottom side with one of my most consistent cow families and you get all the assurance you need.

To be honest, I don’t want to sell this heifer. I know everyone says that, but she has been a standout in our pen since she was born. Her mother is one of my best young cows and I really love the shape, structure, attitude, and pedigree of this heifer. Triumphs have exceeded expectations here. This is a good one that goes back to our MacGyver 5C bull whose females are quiet, great uddered, and awesome mothers. She is show broke and was shown by our seven year old. This is Chet’s first progeny to sell off of his heifer from Grandpa and Grandpa at Kembar Angus. After being involved in the Keystone Konnection sale with our Simmental division for years and being paired with the Klassic sale; seeing the quality on offer we could pick no better place to showcase our Angus genetics of this heifer. Kembar was an active member in this sale for years so we figured we’d follow tradition. You have to analyze this heifer for her depth, volume and angularity while maintaining a tidy, refined front end. I’d say this first calver has done a whale of a job taking this calf from her 59 lb birth weight to 610lbs at weaning time. AI sired by the new Genex Architect bull she has a nice mix of new genetics, calving ease and performance; check out her impressive EPD’s! The Grace cows rise to the occasion annually. The Hazel cows are not a large cow family in Canada and I am bewildered as to why. This mating of Tehama Tahoe on Basin Payweight 1682 back onto an Upward great grand daughter has yielded 2 excellent females back to back. Her dam gave us a female full sib which eases this sale. Hazel 223K is a pen favorite, is long in her body yet is beautifully balanced, correct and docile. She is another female carrying an early service to G-Man which has the potential to yield a stellar calf with 2 year old show potential. She is presenting an excellent udder, as she should. We purchased our first Angus female in the 1996 edition of the Keystone Klassic Sale. It has been a few years since we have offered a female for sale via public auction so we thought we should bring a good one to town. This February 21 SAV Rainfall daughter is out of a first calf heifer and she did a great job. This female inherited many of her mother’s characteristics, she is EASY keeping, extremely free in her movements, moderate framed, super nice fronted and carries plenty of depth. Our cows are not babied and typically graze into January, the purebreds run with the commercials so we know she will work in any environment. She and her mother were campaigned successfully the summer of 2022, Reserve Champion Angus Female at the Gold Show in Harding MB and Reserve Senior Champion Female at AG Ex 2022. Carrying service to BAR-H Mindbender should make for an exciting genetic package.
