It is with great excitement that we welcome you to the 1st annual Genetic Distinction Bull Sale, we invite you to Chopper K Auction in Alameda, SK on April 15th to view our offering.
This sale was started as an idea that sparked between us three breeders, as we all sought out a better platform to showcase and market our bulls to our commercial customers. Three breeders unique in their genetics and different in breed, however the three of us all share a common goal and philosophy, to produce bulls built to last. Through diligent genetic selection with a focus on maternal traits, longevity, and performance we want to bring our customers a bull that adds value to your calf crop, quality to your replacement pen, and a bull that is developed to last, ultimately increasing your profit margin and having a positive long term impact on your herd. We are excited for the years to come as we continue to grow and develop our programs and this sale. Roch Springs Cattle – Colten Brokenshire, will be joining the sale next year after his acquisition of the Valley Lodge Angus herd.

BOHRSON MARKETING SERVICES
Welcome to the new Genetic Distinction Sale that is hosted by a progressive group of cattle people with a real eye to the future. When these passionate producers came up with the idea to work together marketing bulls, it was easy to see the strong fit between the programs and the people.
The Brokenshire, Bryce, and Van De Woestyne families share similar eyes for cattle, the way they should be raised, and all consistently work together. You will find top quality seedstock on offer in this sale that will progress your program as they are backed by productive cowherds and these progressive breeders. The Tableland program has been marketing quality cattle for years and have one of the more impressive cowherds to tour. They focus on quality and a type that is great to look at, regardless of breed. With Colten’s acquisition of an Angus herd, we look forward to the Roch Springs bulls on offer in the future. Prime Angus Ranch has always raised muscular, performance Angus cattle with impressive matrons behind them and is a program that has continued to raise its profile. Finally, the Vandy Cattle program is one of the most talented young breeding outfits around. Justin has a keen eye for cattle and his attention to detail in making quality stock is second to none. You can purchase from these breeders with confidence in the breeding programs, customer service, and strength of character that you are supporting. The bulls are developed with longevity in mind and will hold up when you get them home. We would like to welcome you to the Genetic Distinction Bull Sale. It delights us to be joining our long-time friends
Justin Van De Woestyne, Vandy Cattle and Prime Angus, Shaun and Amanda Bryce and Family. It is a great sale combining Angus, Maine and Simmental breeds. In the summer of 2018, we were all sitting around and visiting at “the big sacred kitchen island” (where world problems are solved and all cattle talk is full of infinitive wisdom). Three different breeds, with common goals and philosophies... “The Prairie Boys” had a vision – to breed, develop and sell the style of bulls that we search to purchase for ourselves. We are a family run operation. Wade works full time off the farm and that leaves Heather and the Kids – Colten, Cooper and Casie to “man” the ranch. Because of this, certain cattle traits have been selected and a program has been built around them. Calving ease is first and foremost. The mama ain’t happy if she has to mess around pulling calves. Secondly, disposition in both the cows and herd bulls is also imperative. This has been built into our program for generations. Our kids, from the time they could sit up or walk, have always been in a tractor or out in the barn yard; therefore, the need for quiet dispositions. We have concentrated on longevity. We have customers whose bulls are routinely lasting 6, 7 and 8 years. Replacing herd bulls due to of structural break-downs and excess feed as youngsters is a costly venture. For years we have concentrated on low maintenance cattle. We expect our cows and herd bulls to maintain strictly on hay and high quality chelated minerals. NO grain, or TMR; nothing besides a grass mix hay. We want them to maintain, do their job and even get fat on good ol’ hay. Those that can’t hack it don’t last long at our place. And lastly, good udders... They are a necessity not an option. The surest way to a one-way ticket out is for Heather to have to help a calf suck a bad udder. That’s a guarantee permanent vacation to neverland. Ruthless culling brings about uniformity. Tableland bulls have been brought along slowly. Good quality hay makes up most of their daily diet. Grain is an oat-based ration, kept to minimum, just enough to grow and develop. They are fed with hand filled pails that are weighed and adjusted with each fresh load of feed. Just high oat prepared ration and hay. These bulls have been raised like we are using them for ourselves, and we want them to work and to last. We are raising athletes, bulls that need to get out, move freely and breed cows. We will offer a $100 discount off the purchase price should you take your purchase home sale day. We ask that any bulls returning to our place be insured. Arrangements will be made for delivery by May 1st . Tableland will deliver bulls up to 300 Km free of charge. If you are in the Estevan area we welcome you to stop by for a tour. We are available to discuss your herd sire requirements by phone, text message, email or Facebook. We look forward to seeing you all April 15, 2019 in Alameda. Follow us on facebook.com/tablelandcattle Pictures and videos will be available for viewing. Email: tablelandcattle@sasktel.net
ROCH SPRINGS CATTLE
ESTEVAN, SK
Colten: 306-461-6262
In the fall of 2018, Colten decided to dive into Purebred Cattle. He purchased the angus herd from Valley Lodge, Gord
and Jackie Rogers and Family. The majority of the angus cows now calved out - what a fantastic set of cows! They fit right in with our Simmental herd. Moderate in frame, great udders, super quiet dispositions and low maintenance cattle. Roch Springs will be adding angus bulls from these cows to the sale in 2020. Exciting times for Colten. Thank you Gord, Jackie, Megan and Shane for the once in a lifetime opportunity for Colten to build on your solid foundation.

VANDY CATTLE CO.
BENSON, SK
JUSTIN: 306-461-6031 / Nicole: 306-436-7993
Thank you for taking the time to view our offering. What started last summer as a small conversation between Wade,
Shaun, and myself, has now turned to a reality in a new platform to market our bulls. Our discussions led towards a few key principles on which this sale is based on, “Bulls Built To Last”, bulls that are bred and developed for quality and longevity, and ultimately profitable for you the commercial cow-calf producer. We are excited for what the future holds. This sale is unique in the fact that although there are distinct differences in our programs and breeds on offer, they all work together toward a common goal of producing profitable, practical, and maternal oriented cattle. Our cowherd is the backbone of our program. And although we must seek out performance traits to advance in this industry, we feel that the maternal value of our herd must come first and foremost. Over the past few years we have set out in a clear direction and motive, and through artificial insemination and embryo transplants we have built on the cow families that hold the most production value in our program as well as introducing new genetics we feel hold merit. Our females must have the ability to not only survive, but thrive in our environment. This means females that are sound structured, easy keeping, with udders that will not break down in their production years. We have three breeds that we are offering, three breeds that we believe in for their ability to meet the needs in the industry, but also the ability for all three breeds to work in unison in a crossbreeding scenario. Our Maine-Sim-Angus hybrids have easily become the most productive cross in our commercial program. The bulls we have on offer are small in numbers, but possess the qualities we feel are important. These bulls have been developed on a feed program with longevity in mind. We develop them as if they were going out to breed our cows, they are fed to sustain our harsh winter and develop to an appropriate breeding condition, not to fatten. These bulls are fed free-choice hay, free-choice mineral, and controlled feedings on an Oat-Corn ration. Not self-fed. This is important to us as we feel this feeding program offers optimal longevity to these bulls, ultimately extending your investment. When in the area we invite you to give us a call and view the bulls. We would love to assist you with your herdsire needs. Please feel free to contact us anytime: Justin – 306.461.6031 or vandycattle@hotmail.com As well we would love to assist you in delivery of any bulls purchased, we will deliver free of charge within 300km of Estevan. Anyone who would like to take their bull home after the sale will receive $100 of the price of purchase. However we will house the bulls until May 1st, so long as they are insured, and can arrange delivery thereafter. Once again we appreciate your time in viewing the catalog and look forward to seeing you on April 15th. Sincerely, Justin

A good haired, sound structured Business son with a lot of character through his neck and head. His mother is a hard working, high performance Angus cow. This bull should add power, rib shape, and maternal strength much like his sire.

This bull is a pen favourite. 813F is stout made, sets down on a big foot, and is attractive and exhibits a pile of character in his front one-third. The cow family backing this bull is one we are very proud of, and his maternal sisters are climbing the ranks in our program very fast. Use this bull to add pounds to your steer pen, but more importantly add value to your replacement pen.

A hybrid Sim/Maine/Angus bull that is soft in his rib cage, smooth patterned, and sound structured. We’ve used Whizard in our A.I. program now for 4 years now, he is one of the most consistent sires we have used for making real world cattle, with exceptional fleshing ability, and high maternal value. The Whizard females are exceptional.

A little different twist here. A Whizard son out of a One Man Show daughter. One Man Show was a Mainetainer bull we bought from Jeff Miller in Indiana, and walked in our herd. “OMS” was primarily used for show steer production, however his daughters have went on to be productive young females. This stout, hairy, big boned bull would be a prime candidate to produce 4-H prospects. TH carrier, PHA free.
