Once again in 2020, Destiny, JetStream and Cedar Creek are excited to offer select lots from the heart of our herds. We strive to breed, feed and annually present cattle that will work hard and produce for their new owners and we are proud to have marketed cattle through this sale and built relationships with folks from the east to the west across this great country. Edition 11 offers feature bred heifers and some knock out open heifers with the genetic background that will positively influence your herd and the profitability of your operation. This heifer is the reason we have admired our Convoy calves. He has consistently made us those rugged thick bulls and his females have some skeletal volume, great feet and legs and perfect udders. This heifer has the frame and capacity to roll into one powerful cow that can make sale topping bulls. This heifer will have longevity, a strong udder, and will bring in heavy calves every fall. This is a model of the type of female we strive to breed and the kind we look to buy for our program. Right from the core genetics of the Destiny herd, an embryo calf from the great Twain cow. Twain is still in herd and looks like she has a few good years left in her from age 15 today. Twain is the most consistent and admired cow on the farm. Twain started her show career as a March calf when Barry Labatte slapped her for Reserve Female that year. She went on to be Beouf Supreme, a twice Grand Champion at the RAWF, a son was Grand at RAWF and multiple other progenies in the winner circle consistently Twain is also the dam of the great female producer bull, Destiny Buckeye. I always put in Twain’s picture of her Beouf winnings, but I elected to support picture her by a walk in the pasture photo last week along with a pasture photo of a Vision daughter of Twain. A rock solid, super thick heifer that comes out of our 17R family. She has been a favourite of mine last summer and on the yearling pasture this year. Her Broker dam is a moderate, easy fleshing female and is a full sister to the red broker bull admired on pasture all summer by all visitors. He came in last week at 1100 lbs. Performance is bred into this heifer. Her sire 404D was retained from a strong yearling we purchased at Checkers from Yellow Rose. We calved our first 404D females this spring and I have never seen a better group of ribbed down twoyear olds with the most consistent quality udders. We are pretty excited to offer the first progeny from Jetstream RPlus Endurance 3E who we own in partnership with R Plus Simmentals. Endurance has exceptional balance, thickness and muscling. Endurance’s dam, Larose Chocolate Chip, needs no introduction – Calf Champion at Expo Boeuf in 2015, where she was also shown alongside her dam who was named Reserve Grand Champion female and the very next year Chocolate Chip was the 2016 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Grand Champion Female. His sire, R Plus Hammertime 5051C was a high seller for R Plus to Soderglen Ranches and Porter Simmentals. Endurance is making his mark with his first two calf crops and we are quite confident that the five daughters offered in the sale will make their mark for their new owners. This entry is exciting for us to offer the reining Reserve Champion Bull 2019 RAWF. He showed well in 2018 as well, capturing the Reserve Junior Yearling Bull title RAWF. We calved a lot of his progeny this past season, and over 80% of the calves came a baldie and no extra white. They all came easy, He has a very sound foot and is extremely athletic in his movement and has as nice of polled head you can find. He is presently still on pasture in amazing condition and we are anticipating another exceptional calf crop this spring. His dam, MKEY 35Y was a purchase we made in Futures Edition 6, and like many Futures One cattle purchased, they go on to excel and this cow moved to the donor pen last spring. 35Y has a leadoff Crosby daughter sold to Bristol View Edition 9, a son working at Ferme CJM Maltaise, plus 3 embryo females born this year that will lead off Edition 12. Remember our bull sale first Saturday in April in Keady. This is our best bull calf pen we have developed.

Country Rose stems from two individuals that we are proud to have carry the Cedar Creek name. First, Pickup Line is a stud and everyone who sees him always has something good to say and with a pedigree that speaks for itself. He has a massive, perfectly shaped foot that he passes onto his progeny, a trait that should have more value placed on it. Next, Tennessee Rose is a black blaze-faced matron that is low maintenance and productive with a shot of fleck in the blood. She calved first this year and is due first again in 2021, not easy to do as 3 and 4 year old cow. Country Rose herself is extra long, level from her hooks to her pins and has the presence to go ahead and make a difference for her new owner. She is exactly the type that we like to buy, which makes her exactly the type that we need to sell in Futures One.

Convoy Ann is a heifer that we own jointly with Destiny Simmentals. Her mom is a direct daughter of the popular LFE Sheila 82A and was purchased as one of the high selling open heifers out of Checkers. As with Country Rose’s dam, these Captain Black daughters are throwing powerful and consistent calves. Ann has had that ‘cow’ look from a young age with her pear shape and deep sweeping rib. A show heifer is likely not in the cards for her, but a super productive cow should be a given and these are the kind that consistently make the money. Here will be one of the first Rio Grande heifers to sell in Eastern Canada and boy oh boy is she a good one. She is as dark red as you can make them and visitors through often think she is black at first sight. The reports on the Rio Grande is he stamps them dark red, stout, long, smooth, consistent and they’re extremely marketable. This is no fluke as Daddy’s girl is anchored by the famous RF Certainly Flirtin 202z cow that has surpassed 600k in progeny sales on the top side and a past FNL purchase from Sunny Valley on the bottom side. Jessy has already sent a couple top notch heifers through this sale and has a huge foot, great udder, and heavy milking ability. Daddy’s Girl was just brought off pasture mid-September and is very soft made and structurally correct. Go ahead and get her bought and expect a great return on your investment.

Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to sign up for a free user account and it allows you to select a user name and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. You can choose your favorite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Anytime there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity. 3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if someone else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maxiumum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will not longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. 4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes if a biid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 7 PM EST will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. 5. Within 24 hours of the sale close the Sale Manager, Bohrson Marketing Services will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and deliver/pickup of your lot. If you require assistance with using the DLMS Farm Gate website, if you don’t understand how to create a favorites list, if you can’t figure out the proxy bid or you just plain want to bid via phone, please talk to any of the DLMS team or Sale Consignors. WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone into extended bidding. HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
