EPDs are current and up-to-date as of publication date. Information in this document is believed to be accurate, but any updates prior to the end of sale, will take precedence. Pedigrees in this document have been supplied by the Breed Association and all other information has been supplied by the seller.

On behalf of the four great families that make up the 13th edition of the Futures Ones sale, it is our pleasure to welcome you to this great offering.

Impressively, this sale is one of the longest running Simmental sales in Ontario and it is only made possible because of the folks behind the product who are annually offering top quality females that go out and get the job done. Year after year this offering is made up of high quality bred females that carry exciting services to present quick return on investments and we feel this year’s offering is no exception. As you flip through you will see powerful bred heifers destined to be front end pasture type females that check all the boxes to be future brood matrons. The heifer calf section is always an exciting one with proven and new exciting genetics available. Also don’t forget the 2023 National Classic YCSA show takes place in Ancaster, ON and these heifer calves in the sale would make great Junior projects! The Campbell, Williams, Murray and Matthews families are a great bunch of like minded folks that have come together to make up this impressive 13th edition and need to be commended on annually putting together a high quality sale offering. We highly recommend reaching out to the consignors to visit about the sale offering, or plan a trip to their farms to tour the sale cattle yourself. The BMS sale staff listed has been through the sale cattle and would be happy to assist in any consultation or bidding you may need done on your behalf.

Welcome to the 2022 Futures One Sale

On behalf of the families and crew at Destiny, Jetstream, Cedar Creek and Keystone we welcome you to the Futures One Sale – Edition 13 and the 7th as an online format through DLMS. Our 2022 offering is from the heart of our herds and your time to review the catalogue is appreciated in advance. We are passionate about the Simmental breed and excited to share the cattle you will find in the following pages. The Jetstream offering is comprised of 10 solid bred heifers that are as strong a set as we have ever offered. They are mated early to distinctive calving ease AI sires (RF No Limits, WLB Top Tier and LCDR Favor) for added value and some excitement next year. All these heifers are sound structured, good footed and selected from productive cow families. We are confident these heifers will produce well and offer unanticipated value to your program. They are sociable heifers that we offer with confidence. We invite you to stop by the farm for a visit and evaluate the cattle.

Shane & Joanne and boys

The Destiny offering is from the heart of the program. We continue to promote our reputation for offering cow maker genetics from an established herd of 30 years. Our 100 cow herd is focused on easy maintenance, longevity, docility and profitable productivity. Our annual bull sale the first Sat in April mandates we have a strong base herd to produce these bulls to our repeat commercial customers. We are humbled that several of past sales have gone on to produce over $100,000 of progeny and multiple banners. We expect our strong cow herd to supply designed genetics for you to add and enhance your management decisions to create success for your investment. This year’s offerings of 7 bred heifers that are cow makers from the proven tenured cows in the program. All are AI bred with no exposure dates. The two open heifers will be front pasture potential banner seekers. Cattle are available on farm for your appraisal any day. Give myself or Travis a call. They are worth the time to come evaluate.

Todd Campbell

We would first off like to thank past bidders and buyers, many of whom we are proud to say are repeat customers. The Cedar Creek offering is small in number, but one that we feel offers quality and value. Our herd is built with the same philosophy, quality over quantity, use the best bulls possible to keep moving the program in a positive direction and sell ones to fellow cattle breeders that you would be comfortable buying yourself. The Broker x Gemstone embryo heifer calf needs to be seen to really be appreciated for her volume and presence and should make a fantastic cow moving forward. The Pandda heifer by Olympian is a straight goods kind of heifer that is going to do her job with minimum maintenance and perhaps blaze some faces along the way. Something exciting and new for us is the inclusion of embryos by Cedar Creek Sage x SVS Rancher. Sage is a full genetic sibling to Dynasty and if you have checked out any catalogues so far this sale season you will find the features are sired by him. Rancher is somewhat exclusive and will add to the genetic merit of these embryos. The little Cedar Creekers have these calves halter broken. Come by the farm and check them out.

Pat & Steve Murray

It’s a family affair! We are proud to be part of the Futures’ One Family and are excited to grow the network and connections with customers. We certainly want to thank everyone that has supported us and our cattle over the years. At home and in the barn, families are important to us, and we hope that our cattle offering demonstrates our commitment to solid family foundations. Whether it be on a stall card next year at the YCS National Classic or in pedigrees of sale cattle in the future, we are confident in our offering and the value they will bring to their new owners. Although our herd is small in quantity, we certainly remain committed to quality, are enthusiastic about the breeds future and take pride in the family foundations we are building. Thanks and have a great Fall!

Our lead off lot from the great Twain (RTC 14R) family highlighting the Dream Eilleen female (RTC 31T) that has produced over $100,000 of progeny revenue. This time bringing in the Eileen cow that rock starred in the Donor pen at Sunny Valley. Add the shot of Joker and Throttle to give us the continued maternal opportunity and remember the longevity built into this cow family. A broody, thick made bull making kinda cow.

Destiny Throttle Eileen

A natural calf from the 337U donor cow. Another 15-year-old cow still productive in the herd to calf again in January even after years in the donor pen. The 337U genetics have been very predictable and many cattlemen that have purchased offspring comment on one of their best purchases ever. This bred will be the longest sided and deepest ribbed heifer in the sale offering. She is halter broke and very docile.

This is one of the many powerbuilt heifers for this year’s sale and looks like a bull making candidate. This lady comes from our Sofia family, that again are repeat genetics in the sale due to the longevity built in from the old Stough’s Legacy bull. Her dam is a no miss cow that always brings in a heavy progeny. Expect 59J to follow this pattern as she is setting up a great, tight udder and the early breeding to Favor will pay big dividends. She will be the elite cow that produces bulls and makes some powerful females, and like her dam, will quietly go about her responsibility to produce profits for her owner.

We have purchased several heifers from the premier Erixon program. The 30F dam is a Westcott Daughter with an exceptional udder and surplus volume. The 680S sire to this heifer is well respected and his semen still commanding premium prices. The work is done here to get a deep pedigreed 680S daughter ready to go to work. Again, typical of our program here, a big middle heifer with volume and profitability designs.

The theme remains the same. A good soggy middled, big ribbed daughter from an 11 year old cow. The genetic opportunity from one of the most sought after genetics in the US…..The BOOTS family. We purchased a direct PTB daughter from BOOTS a couple years back to add some genetic diversity and opportunity to our program. This Alliance daughter was the first calf born to this investment and she is a good one to build a program from. She is sweet fronted in a moderate package and profiles with the top end. This is one that can lay down great ones…..Add your management and watch these genetics produce accumulated progeny sales and banners.

Right from the pick of the herd for that perfect baldie head. A Feb born calf that has as much extension to her as we have ever produced. This heifer will hunt next summer at the top of the row. Her dam was the calf at side of Twain when we were declared Supreme at Beouf and Champion Female RAWF in 2008. What’s more impressive is the dam is 15 years old and the granddam Twain was 17 when we said goodbye. An investment for long term production. Halter broke.

This Absolute heifer checks a bunch of boxes – she has eye appeal, style and soundness, natural thickness, capacity and performance. Just something about a baldy! She stems from the same cow family as JETS 60J and validates the consistency of the cow family. Mated to the explosive high seller RF No Limits will create some excitement. baldy face flowing into a moderate framed, wide based cow prospect. Good bone, thick haired with some good ole boys in her pedigree – Milestone, On Target, Red Label and Odin! The 30Z cow is now 10 years old and continues to look youthful. She produced this chromed up beauty last year and has another in the keeper pen this year. Productive, no nonsense genes. Bred to the popular Favor!

This Icon heifer hits you with profile and power. Jillian was a pasture favorite as a calf and has continued as a top cow prospect for the 13th Edition of the Futures One sale. Our selection criteria with bred heifers is to offer cattle that have a productive cow story, sired by proven bulls and mated for easy calving and exciting progeny potential! Moderate, stout and proven maternal merit to raise a good one. The dam of this heifer has sent previous front end females to the Futures Sale and this heifer is just that. Function and balance bred into this moderate bred heifer. A very pretty female. Smooth shouldered, showy front end with an attractive head and wowsers… the big fluffy ears. Sired by a really good RPlus Uppercut son, and mothered by an Amaze daughter that out produces herself every year. This sire group is gaining significant momentum and has bred very true for us and JESS 35K is no exception. When you combine the power of the maternal side of the pedigree and the muscle of R PLUS UPPERCUT 6103D, we feel this heifer has a lot of potential. If you like rib, extension of neck, flexible structured cattle that continue to get better, this one is for you! In addition, her genetic merit paired with the hair and look that she has, we are confident she will be a real treasure.

HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK

We love this UPPER CLASS cow family! The two year old R PLUS

6103D mother of this sale heifer blew us away with what she produced this year! Keystone Classy Touch 12K is the youngest heifer we have but is the individual with the most shape and squareness of hip. She is long bodied and sound structured with some incredible stats- TOP 1% of the breed for performance traits and ranks in the top of the breed for her indexes as well. We were fortunate to have two other 3/4 sisters to this heifer and we debated all year which one we liked better, often this heifer led the charge!

Keystone Classy Touch 12K

HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK

In his early career, the highly anticipated LCDR Favor 149F has bred true for power, growth and structure. We really admire the performance and stretch and are very excited for the power cow 33K will grow into. Her pedigree includes notable cows that continue to get the job done. Her mother has a great udder and has done nothing but crank out features since she first calved. A past feature of this sale that sold to Megans Cattle Company is a maternal sister to 33K, with two other maternal sisters retained by us that we want to build around.

It is hard to let high end breeding tools like this go. If you need a heifer that will add stretch and growth that is matched with really nice joints and structure, this future bull maker should be a highlight!

Jewel is an embryo calf that has stood out since birth. She struts around with a definite presence about her. 20K is just attractive enough through her front, has explosive volume and depth through her middle third and finishes with a square hip with lots of muscle. The Broker females are notorious producers and her Muirhead dam has some older greats in her pedigree. Jewel is the result of a partnership project we are working on with Murray Farms, Bristol View Farms and

Lea Simmentals and that’s the only reason that 20K isn’t making her residence permanent at Cedar Creek. Just cocky enough that a senior should probably show her, however they better get ready to have their picture taken.

Pandda is Ashlyn’s 4-H heifer as well as her first consignment to a sale and she is pretty cool. Very square made, level topped, she has that sweet blazed face and tons of hair. The cow family that she comes from have been workhorses, stemming all of the way back to a 600U daughter that we bought from Kimlake.

Pandda’s dam by Cobra is early in her career, but one that has proven that she knows how to raise them. The pedigree isn’t new by any stretch, but if you want to take one home that will do its job, she will be all over that. Proudly led around by a little girl with a smile on her face, this one is kid-proof quiet.

3 - #1 embryos from Cedar Creek Sage 25H x SVS Rancher Guarantee one 90 day pregnancy if planted by a certified embryologist. Embryos are stored with Dr. Roger Holtby in Port Perry, ON. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs.

It’s not hard to tell how much the Simmental world values these genetics as WFL Sage 506C is 12th on the Top 50 Females list for registrations. Now layer on the fact that Cedar Creek Sage is a full genetic sibling to SVS Dynasty and SVS Rancher is the 110K Tycoon son out of the Sammie donor; this combination is first class. 25H herself took to motherhood like a dream; calved unassisted, dropped a very good udder, flushed well, bred right back to R Plus Mandate and stayed in great shape doing all of this. Here is a chance to invest in some proven, yet fresh genetics. Owned with Bristol View Farms, Maple Lea Simmentals and Murray Farms.

Involvement in YCS is about showing cattle but it’s so much deeper than the show ring attraction. As parents, and former participants, the Futures One group feel that the YCS program offers life skills and opportunity to share similar dreams and goals with other youth from across the nation. Ag is diverse across provinces and regions within them and bringing the Simmental youth together creates opportunity to share the comradery, fellowship, learning that often turns experiences into a “friends for life” result.

The Futures One group will be supporting the breeders of tomorrow with a pledge to donate 1% of our 2022 sale proceeds to the National YCSA show being hosted in Ancaster, Ontario August 4-6, 2023 in conjunction with the Canadian Simmental Association’s annual general meeting. We hope to see you there!

How to participate in the DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auction with Extended Bidding:

Friday, November 18 - 10 AM EST - bidding begins Saturday, November 19 - 7 PM EST - auction closes farmgate style

1. Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to sign up for a free user account and it allows you to select a user name and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favorite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Anytime there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if someone else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maxiumum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will not longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 7 PM EST will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close the Sale Manager, Bohrson Marketing Services will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and deliver/pickup of your lot.

If you require assistance with using the DLMS Farm Gate website, if you don’t understand how to create a favorites list, if you can’t figure out the proxy bid or you just plain want to bid via phone, please talk to any of the DLMS team or Sale Consignors.

WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone into extended bidding.

HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time.

Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

If you require assistance with the Racehorse auction process or bidding via phone talk to any of the DLMS team or sale consignors and we can help you in purchasing the lot you are interested in.
