Welcome to the 2021 Futures One Sale On behalf of the families and crew at Destiny, Jetstream, Cedar Creek and Keystone we welcome you to the Futures One Sale – Edition 12 and the 6th as an online format through DLMS. Our 2021 offering is from the heart of our herds and your time to review the catalogue is appreciated in advance. We are passionate about the Simmental breed and we hope you are interested in what we have presented for sale. The Jetstream offering is comprised of 7 solid bred heifers and 3 heifer calves that are as strong a set as we have ever offered. The bred heifers are stout and mated early to distinctive calving ease AI sires (Domi, Epic, Favor and Absolute) for added value. All these heifers are sound structured, good footed and selected from productive cow families. They are sociable heifers that we offer with confidence. The heifer calves are fresh, flashy and functional and any of them could be future junior show prospects. The calves are halter broke and have very quiet dispositions. Keystone Livestock (Scott and Emily Matthews and family) are co-owners on the Beast Mode heifer and son Lucas is co-owner on the Swayze heifer, feel free to contact them about the cattle. The embryos on offer are limited in number but are notably exclusive and should be very exciting. We invite you to stop by the farm for a visit and evaluate the cattle.

Shane Williams The Destiny offering is from the heart of the program. We continue to promote our reputation for offering cow maker genetics from an established herd of 30 years. Our 100 cow herd is focused on easy maintenance, docility and profitable productivity. Our annual bull sale the first Sat in April mandates we have a strong base herd to produce these bulls to our repeat commercial customers. We are humbled that several of past sales have gone on the produce over $100,000 of progeny and multiple banners. We expect our strong cow herd to supply designed genetics for you to add and enhance your management decisions to create success for your investment. This years offerings of 6 bred heifers that are cow makers from the lead cows in the program. All are AI bred with no exposure dates. The open heifer will be a front pasture potential donor prospect. Thanks to Pete, Jeff and Travis for keeping daily operations at Destiny managed. Cattle are available on farm for your appraisal.

Todd Campbell We would first off like to thank past bidders and buyers, many of whom we are proud to say are repeat customers. The Cedar Creek offering is small in number, but one that we feel offers quality and value. Our herd is built with the same philosophy, quality over quantity, use the best bulls possible to keep moving the program in a positive direction and sell ones to fellow cattle breeders that you would be comfortable buying yourself. The Tycoon is the power heifer of the group and is going to make a sound and functional momma cow. The Red Heat is a fancy little doll and makes up for her smaller stature with big time style. The Stepping Stone falls right square between the two reds with a perfect blend of power and grace. Her mom is the oldest cow on the farm and probably doesn’t get the credit she deserves because she has been as problem free (calving, breeding, productivity, soundness) as any cow we have ever had. The little Cedar Creekers have all of these calves perfectly mannered and halter broken. Come by the farm and check them out.

An embryo born calf from the great 42W brood cow, of which several daughters are in our herd. The 42W cow has multiple bulls working across the province and her ability to make these bulls was the reason we put her in the donor pen. We have exhibited several of her daughters as well. This solid black Alliance daughter is very docile, moderate framed, good footed individual. The reference pasture picture of her dam says it all. A true powerhouse of a cow.

Another embryo born calf from our 35Y cow. The 35Y cow we purchased in a past Futures One sale, and she has exceeded expectations to a point where she was put in the donor pen. 35Y progeny have been in many past sales, including a leadoff Crosby heifer now at Bristol View, and last year a black baldie bull heading West to Koberstein. She has multiple bulls sold through our spring bull sale the first Saturday of April every year in Keady. This heifer adds length and cleanliness. She is developing a very nice tight udder and will become a front pasture feature. The only open we sell this year in the sale is a full sister. Bred up early to WHF Limitless on Apr 4. A rock solid moderate framed cow from the deepest, soggiest black baldie cow on the farm. Alliance crossed very well with this power, maintaining that base width and dimension with a feminine presence. Our Alliance daughters in herd are great milkers that plain out work hard and bring in pounds. Another heifer that expresses the kind we like to breed and make available as we have confidence that these cattle go out and deliver profitable results. Futures One is designed to profile the production of our breeder group, and this heifer portrays our program very well and we are very comfortable of her future contributions.

Past sales I have commented on how Currency has worked in our herd adding power, substance, dimension and great udders. This heifer will pattern that profile. This bred has been on my favourite list since she was born. Her breeding to Favor will be anticipated with great excitement. Her dam is an absolute front pasture female. Her first calf sold in Quality Control last fall to Outset Cattle Co. and was admired in the sale yard by multiple astute breeders. 15H profiles very similar to this heifer and should create a lot of interest on sale day.

This is the absolute power-built heifer for this years sale, and as I have vetted before, it is a Currency. They just work for us in building bull making mommas. Her dam is a no miss cow that always brings in a heavy progeny. Expect 16H to follow this pattern as she is setting up a great, tight udder and the early breeding to Favor will pay big dividends. She will be the elite cow that produces bulls and makes some powerful females, and like her dam, will quietly go about her responsibility to produce profits for her owner.

It would not be a Destiny sale without a baldie. This baldie gets a lot of attention from visitors for her moderation and style. Her pedigree goes back to several highlights from the Sofia family that have been in multiple Futures sales since the beginning. A recent highlight was the bred heifer in 2019 going to Shologan/ Rusylvia. This heifer shall easily find multiple friends come sale day. This cow family has rivers of milk, longevity, depth of body and explosive dimension. Another exciting early breeding to Favor….hope for the money strip her. The baldie look is many generations deep. Our only open for the sale this year and she is a leadoff entry. We selected her to go with her bred sister 9H. The reds are the preference and here is a female as the natural calf from our donor cow 35Y. She has the look of developing into a powerful bred and potential donor cow. She has maturity and fertility built in as she cycles regularly already. A red program can be enhanced around this leading female. Whether you decide to show her or not we will leave up to you. We think her value is long term in producing the right marketable progeny. SELLS OPEN

Sometimes you reach back and gravitate to an oldie but a goodie in terms of semen. As did many astute breeders, we had good luck years ago with progeny from the Ellingson Black Perfector bull. We mated the 13D cow with hopes of a heifer and here we are offering a bred with a world of potential. The 13D cow carries the IPU 177X lineage which has contributed so much at Jetstream and we expect Holly to offer the same for her new owners. Solid black, moderate, structurally sound and bred early to the exclusive mating of Jetstream Domi 50D. Domi is a walking black, baldie, herdsire at RPlus and bull progeny were very well received at Marlin’s sale last year. AI to Jetstream Domi 50D on April 2. Vet checked Sept 9 - safe to AI. Exposed to JETS 17H (WS Epic E152 x IPU Exciter 177X) Homo Polled/ Hetero Black April 18 - July 8, 2021

Another good bred with style and presence that has received notable attention on pasture this summer. Wide topped and deep middled in a moderate package. Her attractive red mother produced a rip on her first go and has another heifer calf that is at the top of our keeper pen this year. The Alliance bull has been a producer of high quality and high dollar cattle. We feel this heifer offers excellent quality and encourage you to bid with confidence and add Heidi to your program. Bred with sexed female semen to the exciting NWSS Champion bull OMF Epic E27, the Homo polled, Homo Black calving ease specialist.

This moderate and tanky female is shaping up to mirror her mom, whom has been described as a model Simmental cow. We were fortunate to purchase WFL 7100E from the renowned Westway herd and she has since settled into top end production at Jetstream. Wide, deep, sound and sure footed with a deep heel and high udder score best describe the WFL cow. Her sire, the Endurance bull stems from the Expo Beouf and Royal champion female LaRose Chocolate Chip 2C and now resides in Estevan at RPlus. Hayley has the genetics and phenotype to develop into big time production. Her production career will start with a calf from a favorite from Canadian Sires, LCDR Favor 149F which just adds to the genetic blend of goodness.

Her dam, the 3W cow is a proven matriarch at Jetstream and a past Futures One purchase from Maplekey Farms. Very proven and productive genetics as she currently has over 15 females in her family tree producing for us. Top end prospects are easily identified from the power house 3W genes. The Alliance twist adds a fresh topside with a proven track record of value and popularity. Bred early to Absolute 51Y for a predictable result – red and ready to be good ROI. The Futures One sale is notorious for offering better than expected value. Edition 12 offers more of the same with a female like Hennessey.

This heifer is a moderate plus size. A larger framed package that offers balance, eye appeal and functionality. Her mom was a buy from Gordon Jones at the Manitoba Shades of the Prairies sale and she is still youthful as she approaches the age of 10. Expect the longevity genes already built in for Harmony. This mating to Jetstream Domi 50D is equally as exciting as any we are offering. Check out his EPD profile as it’s second to none. JETS 49F - 3/4 sib to embryos

Here’s a fancy, flashy Stepping Stone daughter from the most prominent black cow family here at Cedar Creek. At 13 years old, Black Satin is still going strong with untouched feet and four sound posts so longevity is built into this gal. We have 3 maternal sisters to Oreo working here, all with great udders and lots of milk. Oreo was not originally slated for the sale so she was later to the feed pail, but come November 20th, she will be ribbed down, haired up and waiting to wear leather!

SVS Tycoon 841F- Sire

Katlin is a powerful heifer with a strong top, thick square hip and some spread at her pins. She is the type of heifer that is likely going to put out those heavy haired, stout boned, soggy bulls that you want for your commercial bull market. 3J is right at the front of the pack for performance at Cedar Creek and her weaning and yearling weight EPD’s are in the top ten percent for the breed. The Tycoon sired cattle have been very popular since their arrival and Katlin’s dam is a big, strong, good footed cow that calves in the first handful of cows each year. This heifer is halter broke with a great disposition. Go ahead and get yourself a red baldy that is built to last.

In our attempt to provide something for everyone, Keitha offers more of a show heifer type presence with her style and femininity. She is extended through her front third and has explosive rib shape. There have not been many Red Heat progeny for sale yet in Eastern Canada and if you look through Keitha’s extended pedigree, you’re going to see many of ‘who’s who’ of the past and present. This whole cow family is moderately framed with tidy udders, starting with Emmylou Harris that we purchased from Riverpoint Cattle Company as a heifer calf. 17J was led around by 6 year old Easton this spring and is dog quiet. She may provide some excitement for a young 4-H member next year with the halter breaking already done for you.

e h t n i e t a p i c ti tion c How to par u A d e m i T e t a G m r a g: n i DLMS F d d i B d e with Extend Friday, November 19 - 10 AM EST - bidding begins Saturday, November 20 - 7 PM EST - auction closes farmgate style 1. Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to sign up for a free user account and it allows you to select a user name and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. You can choose your favorite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Anytime there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity. 3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if someone else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maxiumum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will not longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. 4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 7 PM EST will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. 5. Within 24 hours of the sale close the Sale Manager, Bohrson Marketing Services will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and deliver/pickup of your lot. If you require assistance with using the DLMS Farm Gate website, if you don’t understand how to create a favorites list, if you can’t figure out the proxy bid or you just plain want to bid via phone, please talk to any of the DLMS team or Sale Consignors. WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone into extended bidding. HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in. If you require assistance with the Racehorse auction process or bidding via phone talk to any of the DLMS team or sale consignors and we can help you in purchasing the lot you are interested in.
