Welcome to the 2019 Futures One Sale Welcome to the Futures’ One Internet Sale – Edition 10. Reaching a milestone within a business, relationship or event like this is certainly something of distinction and the Futures’ One group would truly like to thank you for your support throughout our years in the Simmental breed but most importantly as customers in our previous 9 sales and those that have expressed interest in our programs. We are proud to have marketed cattle and built relationships with folks from the east to the west across this great country. We strive to produce and offer genetics that will positively influence your herd and the profitability of your operation. Once again in 2019, Destiny, JetStream, Cedar Creek and Keystone are excited to offer select lots from the heart of our herds. The Bohrson Marketing Service team has been through our offering this fall on different occasions and they continue to be a great asset for Simmental breeders for their integrity in cattle evaluation and professional sales assistance. We are happy to be involved with Mark Shologun and his DLMS team again this year and look forward to an entertaining live closeout. To enhance last year’s format, pre-bidding will be available up until auction time and then a live close will follow offering some of the best entertainment value available on a Saturday evening in November. If you need help navigating the internet format please don’t hesitate to contact us or any of the capable team at DLMS. We encourage you to bid often and to have confidence in the Futures’ One brand. Regardless of the weather, the tone of the cattle industry with price trends and swings, competitive protein market influences, the political party in power………Focus and Remember that when the opportunity presents itself to buy a breeding piece to help stabilize your position in the cattle business and enhance your breeding program – you take action. The Futures’ One sale, for the past nine editions, has offered just that – genetics that positively influence and enhance future opportunities for those who have taken advantage. Edition 10 offers as much and maybe more opportunity so be ready to take action. Several of the cattle in this sale will be presented at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, so stop by and chat it up at our stalls. You are invited to view, at each of the breeder’s respective farms, our offerings at any time prior to the sale. Call ahead to ensure we are there as we are often busy with off farm jobs (entire Futures’ group), kids hockey (the Murray’s) and grandkids (old man Todd) and we would hate to miss the opportunity to visit and tour you around. But honestly, if we can help you understand the cattle beyond the catalog, please give us a call or text and we would be happy to visit. Thank you again for your interest in our programs.

These embryo born yearlings come from a cow we are proud to have bred and we continue to watch her elite status gain accreditation every year at Sunny Valley. Destiny Dream Eileen 31T was a grand champion in 2007 with her dam Twain at RAWF. Both Twain and Eileen have multiple progeny leading in great herds. Eileen’s contribution to our industry has included SVS Milwaukee. Eileen has produced many bulls, a testament to a great cow. Best of all, Eileen 31T was purchased at a past Futures One Sale. This is one of many cattle that have been quietly purchased in our production sale and go on to be breed recognized herd builders for their owners. This was one of our original critical success factors when we designed this sale originally, for new owners to have the opportunity to build on the base genetics. RTC 17F, A Joker daughter, exhibits that muscle expression and natural fleshing ease that this Twain family is recognized for. She has been a pasture favourite of mine, with her base width and depth of rib. Bred: SFI Savage D20 Mar 20/19 Confirmed Pregnant May 10 – No Exposure

RTC 1F, a daughter of a walking herd bull we purchased from Jaydawn, is a typical Permanent Black Daughter. These Perm Black progeny make exceptional cows, with great milking ability and cows that get extremely better with age. This heifer at age 5 will be a front pasture cow…these Perm Blacks take a little longer to impress, but they all do. Bred: Cobra Apr 14/19 Confirmed Pregnant May 10 – Exposed May 11 – RTC 44F

One of the last calves born to a shared bull with Jetstream. This heifer is very clean in her lines and her 680S dam is still in the herd as one of our leading cows. Her granddam SOFIA, is a past donor cow at Destiny. To stay on our 10th year theme, Sofia progeny have highlighted in several years past, with a Buckeye daughter leading purchase by Braeden Weppler, who has averaged over $5,000 on 5 progeny sales. We try to produce cattle that work and this heifer will do the same. AI breeding to SFI Savage D20 Mar 19/19. Confirmed Pregnant May 10. No Exposure

A solid, honest bred female that will mature into a hard working well uddered cow. The influence of our Ms Deck family is evident; this pedigree has maternal power stamped all over it. While this heifer continues to showcase our Ms Deck family, it introduces a new sire group, 404D. A bull that arrived here from a bred heifer we purchased at Checkers from Yellow Rose. Wait until next year and we will bring an impressive set of uniform, deep sided yearlings for Edition 11 from this sire. While we focus on the past in this sale, we are engineering the future….being Futures One. One Goal, One Plan, One Great One… you pick the verbage, but in the end many breeders have Won. AI breeding to CCLT Alliance 91C Mar 20/19. Confirmed Pregnant May 10. No Exposure
Wow…Power red bred here. Jetstream and Destiny tagged up on LFE 14S in 2006, wrote a business plan for her, and has she ever hit the targets. She produced bull after bull, that always made the cut for our annual bull sale. 5F is her second female progeny ever, with the first one (JKST 43U) being sold in the Futures One sale. I bought the partnership half, she raised 7 calves in her first 4 years, bred back always first service and is still in herd. Her heifer calf this year is in the sale. Again, another profitable Futures One purchase. This Astute daughter shall have many friends. She is setting up a great udder like her dam, and longevity is built in. Her breeding to Buckeye was an easy decision for the partners, as we both have great cows in herd by Buckeye. AI breeding to Destiny Buckeye 33W Apr 11/19. Confirmed Pregnant May 10. No Exposure

This heifer is our choice to offer in the sale to profile the Convoy 23C walking herd sire we purchased a few years back from the Earley’s bull sale. These Convoys are amazing, so much we are parting with none of his breds as we want to see them all calve next winter. I have never seen so much muscle explosion consistently in a calf group. The heifer calves on pasture this year just keep rising to the top of the entire group. Look for the Convoy 23C breds next year, but this one you can develop in your program. This black baldie will raise herd sires at the front of the sale. Her 43U dam was purchased in a past Futures One sale, giving her the nod for this years open heifer to sell. If she produces as well as dam and granddam, your investment will have a high ROI. OPEN

Potential bull pick RTC 93G - Maternal brother to last year’s RAWF Res. Gr. Ch.
We have offered the pick of the bull pen in all online sales and we will continue with this offering for Futures Edition 10. Being our 10th sale, we are throwing open the entire bull pen, and including all our walking senior herd bulls. There are three two years old proven breeders. This year will be hands down our best offering and depth of bulls we have ever had. There will be approximately 15 bulls developed this winter from our 90 cow herd. Red, black and lotsa baldies to consider from our top cows. There are breeder bulls in this year’s group. Four of these bulls will be on display at the RAWF including our black baldie two year old. His plan was to be our Senior herd sire next spring, but no bull in the pen is being protected. We weighed the bull calves Sept 10, with a range of 840 lbs (Mar bull) to 1080 lbs. Pick to be confirmed by Jan 1/20. No bulls have or will be sold prior. The balance of the bulls go to our Keady bull sale that is always the first Sat in April every year.

This cow always brings in one that goes directly to the show barn. To highlight was last year’s Reserve Champion bull at the RAWF, who was purchased at last year’s sale pick of the bull calves to Time View Farms. She also put a high selling Pit Boss daughter into the Braeden Weppler who is in the donor pen there. This cow just moved to the donor pen this summer and has embryos to Vision and Alliance already made. We plan to flush her two more times and can work with the purchaser on a selected bull. Offering 5 embryos, guarantee two 60 day pregnancies.

A feminine fronted, long made, moderate bred that is level topped, with very nice teat size and placement. Good feet and legs and udder quality are genetic strengths passed on from strong maternal genetics that are tried and true here at Jetstream. Check out the EPD scorecard on 15F as it’s sure to impress even the most discerning critics. The performance red heifer calf of our offer. A quiet, “scratch me” character from day 1. Long and deep, solid red female that stems from a productive LaBatte Lotto cow that maintains a youthful appearance and maintains her body condition throughout calf rearing regardless the pasture conditions. We have retained two maternal sisters in herd and offer what we feel is the best calf to date.
The performance black heifer of our offering and stems as the 4th generation in a family tree of pretty and productive starting with IPU Exciter 177X originating from the renowned LaBatte herd. This heifer’s granddam is a donor here at Jetstream and rightfully so, she has been a herd favourite of many for her clean front end, big sweeping rib cage and flawless udder. Gem and her mother have big shoes to fill but have proven they are up for the challenge. We have been very happy with our Alliance progeny as they offer consistency in look and performance regardless the gender. Because we have such depth in herd with this cow family, it allows us to offer such an opportunity with Gem. Entered alongside her mother at Royal Winter Fair.

We could fill a page of footnotes about the genetic blend that this heifer carries, giving her a toolbox full of opportunity to blaze her own trail. She stems from a Royal Champion dam and sired by the exclusive UpperCut bull. UpperCut progeny are not plentiful as semen has been kept exclusive, but we feel there is good probability the bull and his progeny will fast become household names in the Simmental business. CMS Sochi - Sire of Lot 20B embryos Chocolate Chip has developed into a powerful female as is demonstrated by the photo taken this October. She is sound, agile in her movement, wide topped and has tremendous capacity. We are excited to share embryos from two elite sires, R Plus Uppercut and CMS Sochi. The Uppercut mating is proven as demonstrated by the sale feature Lot 19. Chocolate Chip has a tremendous show record claiming Calf Champion at Expo Boeuf in 2015 where she was also shown beside her dam who was named Reserve Champion Female. The very next year she powered to the top of the heap at the Royal to be crowned Champion female under judge Bill Bigleni. Her first bull is the walking herdsire for Jetstream and now enroute to Estevan for the coming years and we are happy with how his calves are developing. Rosie is a deep ribbed, wide muzzled heifer with a good hair coat. Her stout bone leads the way to a big foot, which is a trait we feel is very important. We were told that the Captain Black females milk well and raise heavy calves and that has proved to be the case for all of the two-year olds at Cedar Creek. Want more proof, check out her three quarter sister also in this sale. You probably can’t go wrong with a Cobra and this heifer offers a cool twist in her pedigree with a shot of fleckvieh on her dams side from our Double Bar D Jahari bull. If you go back a little ways you will also find the Kimlake Marie cow, a 600U daughter that started this cow family along with 680S. If numbers are your thing, Rosie’s EPD profile is showing lots of green. Tied broke and good natured, go ahead and invest in female with a sound future.

When we partnered with Ranciers and Bohrson Marketing on Springcreek Linne 33R, the mother to Springcreek Olympian and many other standouts, we envisioned a donor that would give our red and black program a big shot in the arm. Although Linne didn’t stay with us as long as we had hoped, she definitely did a lot of good for us. Gerty is the first female to sell from our Linne 33R by Captain Morgan son and she is a fancy one to boot. Her Super Duty dam is easy doing and moderate framed with a tidy udder. Just February born, she sports a great deal of natural muscle and capacity. With her fly away ears and pretty head, she could be a force in the show ring next summer.

Time and time again RTC/JETS Upper Class 40U continues to out produce herself. Better yet, her progeny do the same! She is one of few cows to have produced both Grand Champion Female and Grand Champion Bull at The Royal. Her progeny have become influential pieces at Jetstream, CDM Simmentals, Velian Farms, Rust Mountain/Rancier and here at Keystone. In the USA, WS Revival daughters have dominated in the show ring and are now dams to some high caliber progeny. At 11 years old this cow weaned maybe her highest performance natural calf yet. Proven genetics from a momma cow that just flat gets the job done! WS Revival son Selling 5 Embryos with 2 - 90 day pregnancies guaranteed if a certified embryologist is used
