Welcome to the 2021 edition of the Fall Gala Sale. As 2021 moves on, we have had the opportunity for some things to return to a “new normal.” A few cattle shows have returned – with some excellent summer shows here in Ontario organized without the surrounding of our usual fairs. Weather has been a dominant story for 2021 – with extreme drought to too much rain ranging across North America. The cattle market has stayed strong through the summer – if there was ever a time to ship a few old cows and upgrade to a solid bred heifer this is the time! We are proud of the depth of quality in the heifer calf consignment with lots of potential to excel as both show heifers and brood cows. Our ET program has allowed us to share some of our most consistent genetics – including exciting calves from the Great Sheila cow as well as other great donors from across the country! The top of our bred heifer pen is as good as it has ever been – featuring High Light that has made a bunch of friends at the shows this summer. It really makes us happy to talk to customers with cattle performing terrifically in the pastures for their new owners from our past sales - that is what sharing these cattle with you is really all about. We continue to be blessed with a great group of consignors to work with and have added a couple of new faces to the group this year. We are also very thankful for a great group of family and friends that do a lot of work to make this sale a success every year. We would love to see you October 17th, but if you would rather not attend we will do everything we can to ensure you are taken care of from a distance. DLMS will be broadcasting the sale online and the great team at Bohrson Marketing will be available to help you evaluate the cattle. The consignors will all be happy to show off their cattle at home prior to the sale as well.

Lots 2A & 2B are the result of embryos we bought and we are sure impressed with this incredibly strong set of ladies. Their Cream Soda dam was a class winner at NAILE and bought from the renowned Hudson Pines herd, and she is one of the great up and coming donors at Deeg/Canadian Donors. The 248D progeny will be cutting a wide swath in the near future as her first daughter sold to Rancier Farms and 5 daughters will be highlights at FNL this fall — the 248D simply doesn’t miss. The mating to the popular Turnpike was a great cross and his breeding abilities continue to impress. Feminine, deep sided, structurally correct, all wrapped up in that “Angus” look package, describes Lot #2B. While Lot 2A, shows off her chiseled front end, big hip, in a performance package. Both of these heifers have been shown this summer and have landed at the top portion of the class, switching positions at each show. These genetics make these heifers invaluable breeding tools. We bought Holly’s mother in the RPCC 2015 sale, as Jane said in her notes, they were not sure why they were selling her, but we are glad they did. This heifer looked just like her mother as a calf. Thick, sound, functional and docile, she has gotten better as she matures.
