Erixon Simmentals reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at Erixon Simmentals expense and the buyers convenience. Any semen collected will be for Erixon Simmentals in herd use only.

All animals will carry the standard breeding guarantee as specified by the Canadian Simmental Association. If a problem occurs with your purchase, please notify us as soon as possible. A bull of equal value and quality will be supplied or a credit given towards the purchase of another Erixon bull.

Welcome from ERIXON SIMMENTALS

On behalf of Dave, myself, Griffin and Holden, I would like to welcome you, our fellow seed stock producers and commercial cattlemen to the 2024 edition of the Erixon Simmentals Bull Sale.

2024 marks 50 years of the BOBE tattoo. Dave’s dad Bob purchased his first half blood in 1974.

That half blood cow is the matriarch of our largest cow family today.

The 2023 fall run was full of enthusiasm and we finally saw the prices that we have waited so long for. For those of you like us that are still in a drought situation, 2024 is our year!

The herd is built around strong cow families that have been consistent over the years. We believe in the power of the momma cow, and her ability to produce by utilizing forages. Our bulls come to you out of the industry’s leading A.I sires. We have invested heavily in semen packages over the years and are very happy with the results. We have something for everyone; reds, blacks, white faced, heifer bulls, calving easy cow bulls, performance bulls and the list goes on. Please call us and we can discuss the bulls in detail with you. We took all the pictures in December and made sure to get a picture of each and every animal for your appraisal.

Our cow herd and bulls are on a full herd health and nutrition program through the University of Saskatchewan, reproduction specialist Dr. Blair Simonson and Beef Smart Nutrition. At weaning the bulls are put out on a grass field west of the yard. The bulls are developed on free choice hay and pail fed after weaning and then slowly transitioned onto a high roughage TMR ration that promotes growth and longevity. We feel that our bulls are well grown out and not carrying anymore condition than needed. They’re sorted into their winter pens by the sale barn mid November.

Yes, 12L and 13L are twins, and they’re real good. It would be pretty cool to sweep the ring on these 2 and walk them together in a pasture.

We thought very highly of 86A the day we sold her at Friday Night Lights. When we had the opportunity to buy her daughter 513C, we couldn’t resist. The udder structure and teat size on 513C is top end. 50L is a Copperhead sired bull that has lots of natural flushing ability and hair. We are sure happy with the thick hair coats that are displayed on the bulls.

Here is the youngest calf in the sale, he will have just hit a year of age come sale day. We talk about cow families quite abit throughout this sale catalogue. We have always named all our females ‘Lady’ in the past and knew the cow families by their tattoo numbers. We are changing things up and have stated putting actual names to all the different cow families. This was a huge project as we had to trace family lines back for generations. This will make it easier for you to trace the cow families as the younger females come into production. Unfortunately we weren’t able to rename the cows that are already in production.
