Welcome from ERIXON SIMMENTALS

On behalf of Dave, myself, Griffin and Holden, I would like to welcome you, our fellow seed stock producers and commercial cattlemen to the 2024 edition of the Erixon Simmentals Bull Sale. 2024 marks 50 years of the BOBE tattoo. Dave’s dad Bob purchased his first half blood in 1974. That half blood cow is the matriarch of our largest cow family today. The 2023 fall run was full of enthusiasm and we finally saw the prices that we have waited so long for. For those of you like us that are still in a drought situation, 2024 is our year! The herd is built around strong cow families that have been consistent over the years. We believe in the power of the momma cow, and her ability to produce by utilizing forages. Our bulls come to you out of the industry’s leading A.I sires. We have invested heavily in semen packages over the years and are very happy with the results. We have something for everyone; reds, blacks, white faced, heifer bulls, calving easy cow bulls, performance bulls and the list goes on. Please call us and we can discuss the bulls in detail with you. We took all the pictures in December and made sure to get a picture of each and every animal for your appraisal. Our cow herd and bulls are on a full herd health and nutrition program through the University of Saskatchewan, reproduction specialist Dr. Blair Simonson and Beef Smart Nutrition. At weaning the bulls are put out on a grass field west of the yard. The bulls are developed on free choice hay and pail fed after weaning and then slowly transitioned onto a high roughage TMR ration that promotes growth and longevity. We feel that our bulls are well grown out and not carrying anymore condition than needed. They’re sorted into their winter pens by the sale barn mid November. If you can’t make it to the sale we are more than happy to assist you in your purchase. Feel free to call Dave or I or any of the phone numbers listed for our sales staff. We have the full confidence in our sales staff and this is a free service to you. Your bids will be handled professionally and confidentially. The sale will be broadcasted live on dlms. We still highly encourage you to come see the bulls and use the services provided by our trusted sales management. The success of our customers and friends is highly rewarding to see. Long time friends and bull customers Trevor and Pauline Jones went out with a bang when they sold their final calf crop at Swift Current at the beginning of November. Of the 2900 head to move that day they had both the heaviest pen of heifers and steers. All the best on your retirement and next adventure! Colborn Farms is a highly progressive farming operation not far down the highway from us. As first time exhibitors to Agribition they captured the overall champion pen of bred heifers! Congratulations! We look forward to hosting all our past, present and future customers at our heated sale facility on the farm. The bulls will continue to sell by live auction and ran through the sale ring for your appraisal. Join us for lunch prior to the sale and after for socializing, refreshments, snacks and live music. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call or stop by the farm anytime prior to the sale. Cheers folks!

Welcome from BOHRSON MARKETING SERVICES

The Erixon Simmentals program is synonymous with the highest quality of Simmental Seedstock in the entire industry. Their commitment to their commercial cattleman is truly commendable and as you flip through this impressive set of bulls, it’s quick to see why they have one of the most loyal list of repeat customers. This year they offer one of the more diverse sets of bulls than they ever have before, for their special anniversary, as this 2024 sale celebrates 50 years in the registered business for the BOBE tattoo and Erixon Simmentals. We are so pleased to welcome you on behalf of Dave, Krista the boys and the crew to this year’s special sale. Over the last number of years, Erixon Simmentals has invested heavily into elite, exclusive semen packages and this year is a great example of that. It gives you the opportunity to acquire many half, 3/4 and full sibs in blood by industry leading bulls in bulk. The large sire groups are a great representation of the strict breeding process at Erixon Simmentals. This year more so than ever you have the opportunity at many power cow bulls, calving ease cow bulls, heifer bulls and as many white faced options as ever before with nearly a 1/3 of the offering being blazed or baldy in both red and black options! When you utilize an Erixon bull you are gaining pounds and performance and never sacrificing calving ease and maternal traits. They build their cow herd on all the fundamentals of foot and udder quality with structural integrity and specifically source the bulls to mate each female to, in order to complement one an other. This year’s bull pen is as stout and deep in quality and consistency as ever, exemplifying their selection criteria of high volume, easy fleshing bulls that check the boxes in terms of foot quality, mobility tied together with a good looks and lots of hair. As you read the welcome from Krista, they mention how rewarding it is for them to see their customers have success. Our hats are off to them and their clients who were able to top the markets this past fall both on pay weight and dollars, as well as those customers that found success doing some pen showing with commercial females sired by Erixon bulls. We can’t endorse the Erixon program enough and really encourage you to take a trip through the bull pens in the weeks leading up to the sale and make plans to join them at the farm on February 26th. Their hospitality lives up to the impressive bulls on offer and the whole day truly goes hand in hand. Great cattle, great folks and great cattlemen commaraderie. Be sure to give Dave or Krista a call to discuss the bulls on offer to help find you options that will best suit your program. If any of us RR 4 - Site 7 - Box 28 listed from BMS can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us to utilize our free order buying services and cattle consulting. We would be pleased to visit Olds, AB T4H 1T8 with you about this impressive lineup of Simmental genetics. bohrsonmarketing@gmail.com Best regards, The Bohrson Marketing team www.bohrson.com

Yes, 12L and 13L are twins, and they’re real good. It would be pretty cool to sweep the ring on these 2 and walk them together in a pasture. The profile, bone structure, overall mass and attitude are very high end on these fellas. It will be exciting to see the udder structure of these Walk The Line calves as Darlin’ has an udder of perfection and has been stamping her progeny with the same udder structure.

No Limits is a bull that has surpassed our expectations. He ranks in the top 1% of the breed for both weaning and yearling weight. 60L is the true powerhouse of all the bulls in the sale. While he has a touch more birth weight he has all the length of spine to go with it. He will add frame, length and pay weight into your calves. He ranks in the top 1% for weaning and yearling weight. He also had an adjusted weaning weight of 915 lbs. The dam of 60L calved at the beginning of January with a beauty of a black blaze full sib heifer calf.

When Dave was out touring in February of 2022 he phoned me as soon as he saw No Limits. He was the type of bull that our program is pushing to raise. Big hipped, long sided with some extra punch and out of a cool looking cow with a wonderful udder. Buying an exclusive semen pack was a great decision in our eyes.

We have a large selection of these No Limits bulls for you to sort through. His granddam is Nika 37N who we flushed with great success and sold numerous bulls and females out of. Take a look at the picture of the full sib to his dam. These females have been highly productive and profitable to our operation.

We sure are excited about the new sire groups that we have on offer this year. We do think that this group of bulls sets the bar higher. The cow family backing 149L is highly maternal. Take a look at the picture of his maternal sib that sold at Friday Night Lights.

This first calf heifer has done an exceptional job on this Slider bull. 165L is a lower set bull that is easy feeding.

Here is the youngest calf in the sale, he will have just hit a year of age come sale day. We talk about cow families quite abit throughout this sale catalogue. We have always named all our females ‘Lady’ in the past and knew the cow families by their tattoo numbers. We are changing things up and have stated putting actual names to all the different cow families. This was a huge project as we had to trace family lines back for generations. This will make it easier for you to trace the cow families as the younger females come into production. Unfortunately we weren’t able to rename the cows that are already in production.
