2014 Erixon Simmentals Bull & Female Sale

On behalf of the Erixon family I would like to welcome fellow seed stock producers and commercial cattlemen to the Erixon Simmentals Bull & Female Sale. The first Simmental cows were purchased in 1974 and we have stayed with the breed ever since. The herd is built around strong cow families that have been consistent over the years. We believe in the power of the momma cow, and her ability to produce by utilizing forages. Cattle are our sole income and each and every cow on the farm must pull her own weight. Our bulls and heifers come to you out of the industry’s leading A.I sires and two of our own walking bulls. We take great pride in striving to find exciting new and upcoming sires.

Some of the proven herdsires that are represented again this year are; Wallbanger, Wellington, Crosby, Identity, and Stubby. A solid group of Wallbanger calves will sell again this year as bulls from last year were in strong demand and caused a lot of talk. We are very pleased with the job the new kids on the block are doing; Diablo, Power Play, and Full Throttle. We are committed to the industry and are always striving to raise the best stock possible. Dave is currently the Saskatchewan Simmental President, and sits as a non board member for the Breed Improvement Committee for the Canadian Simmental Association.

All the bulls and heifers are on the Pfizer Gold program and have been poured with Ivomec. The calves see no creep feed and are developed on a high roughage ration that promotes growth and longevity.

Delivery Options

Option A: $50 off per lot if picked up sale day.

Option B: Free on bulls to central points in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. In most cases we will deliver the bull to your yard. Trucking will start immediately after the sale at seller’s convenience.

Option C: Bulls may be left at the farm free of charge until April 15. A $3.00/day fee will apply after that and bulls will then need to be picked up or delivery arrangements made with the seller.

Semen Collection

Erixon Simmentals reserves the right to collect semen on any bull sold through this sale. The semen collection will be at Erixon Simmentals expense and the buyers convenience. Any semen collected will be for Erixon Simmentals in herd use only.

The Erixon family has been breeding Simmentals since the mid 70’s and has established one of the deepest cowherds in Canada. As the Simmental breed has continued to evolve over the years, the Erixons have stayed right for the times.

The 2014 bull and female offering is an extremely deep group that is backed by some of the most proven sires in the breed. Wallbanger has left his mark on the breed and did a great job at Erixons as last year’s high sellers were all Wallbanger sired and sold to some of the most progressive breeders and semen companies in Canada. New this year to the blacks will be a powerful set of Full Throttle calves that will impress you with their muscle, stoutness and overall power. The first set of Diablo (2012 Labatte high seller) calves are on offer and are an impressive combination of calving ease with above average performance with overall balance.

Power Play (2012 Erixon high seller) has been used extensively with success as he is backed by a proven pedigree and one of the best cow families in the breed. Many other proven AI sires such as Stubby, Identity, Crosby, Wellington, etc have sons and daughters in the sale that will compliment this deep set of sale cattle.
