Welcome

We are pleased to welcome you to our inaugural Eastern Connection Bull Sale. This is a sale put together through a connection of breeders with similar goals of providing the best product possible. It is our first as a group but collectively we have been breeding Simmental cattle for 120 years. We feel that our offering will work in both commercial and purebred operations. You can choose from Fleck, reds or black bulls that are built on solid pedigrees and functional cows and who can add value to many herds. With the recent market dynamics improving, now is the time to invest in the genetic base of your herd. The genetics you invest in now, will help you thrive as we move through future cycles. Quality breeds quality and we truely feel there is good value in these bulls and the genetics they represent. All of us would encourage you to visit with each of the consignors about their cows, their goals, their families and their dedication to breeding quality cattle. We hope you can take the time to come and join us for some hospitality and great bulls. Eastern Connection Group

Welcome from Bohrson Marketing The Eastern Connection Sale will bring together a strong group of eastern breeders from Ontario and Quebec to offer their top genetics. The bulls and embryos on offer carry some of the most exciting pedigrees going and truly highlight the strengths of these programs. The cattle business is also a people business and there is a great set of people represented in this sale and I can assure you that they are only bringing their best to town. This set of bulls will encompass a great cross section of Fullblood and purebred genetics with calving ease and power both mixed throughout. As we study the catalogue it is evident that maternal quality is a priority with some of the strongest cow families in the industry being represented. On top of a nice set of bulls is a few select embryo lots that are sure to create some excitement with the exciting matings that they offer. We hope you can join us at this nice and new sale location that is set up ideally for a great event. If you can’t make it sale day, feel free to reach out to the sale consignors to discuss the offering or Jaxon Payne from BMS as we will ensure we will represent you in the most professional manner. Look forward to seeing you on sale day for the Eastern Connection! Best regards, The Bohrson Marketing Team

reaux Eastern Connection. Groupe Eastern Connection

DUNMAC FARMS

Welcome to the first annual Eastern Connection Bull and Female Sale, which myself, my beautiful fiancé Amanda and our son Jack are extremely proud to host. Over the last 3 years, I have drove and flew many miles selecting what I believe to be some of the best genetics in the breed. We purchased our farm in 2020 in hopes to continue what has been a long list of MacLeod’s who made their living off the farm. We are offering 3 extremely sound bulls off of some of the best cow families in the business. With being part of this bull sale, getting into the March Madness Sale with a pick of the herd flush and also having our first heifer sale in September 2024, we feel like the best is yet to come. We look forward to producing and providing some great Simmental cattle for years to come.

SIBELLE DIRTY HARRY 25Z DONOVANDALE FAITH DONOVANDALE CALEIGH

Here’s a partnership bull between Dunmac and Donovandale Farms. Most times when I visit Gerald, I end up leaving with a couple great heifers but this time I left with a couple great embryos. These embryos are from the Donovandale Faith cow purchased by Anchor D at the Eastern Harvest Sale in 2021. Dark red, long bodied, great footed and extremely well pigmented bull is the best way to explain this guy. Last Call is ready to go to work and will be productive for years to come.

From day one, I had high hopes for this Outlook son and he certainly has not disappointed. I purchased his dam at the Ferme Gagnon Sale from the great people of Elm Tree Farm, Glen, Pam and Mariah Walton. His power and ability to move like a cat impresses many people when they walk through the bull pen. It’s hard to sell this guy as I was planning on using him in my own herd but myself and the other 6 good people and of course the enthusiastic Pierre Lacombe committed to sell the very best we have to offer. Look for the big guy to sell March 2nd at the first annual Eastern Connection Bull sale.

Believe it or not, the day I purchased these great Sheila Supercharge embryos from March Madness there was definitely a little liquid courage needed when hitting the bid button. But man, oh man did she not disappoint. This long bodied, gentle giant, muscular powerhouse checks off many boxes when selecting a new herd sire. Like my good buddy Mike McCart says, “the true good ones go back to great cow families”, and he is so right. Here’s your chance to add an elite bull to your cow herd.

DONOVANDALE SIMMentals Our first registered animal was in 1982. We raise Fleckvieh, Reds and Blacks and majority are polled. In this area Gerald is known as the “bull guy”. We show at many exhibitions and are fortunate to have good results and some banners to showcase. Donovandale Bailout was the 2019 Canadian Simmental Association Show Bull of the Year. We believe in breeding cattle with power and natural thickness, good feet and legs and great udders. We want animals with longevity. Some of our bulls are sold to the “purebred” breeders, but our main focus is breeding bulls that work for the commercial market. Many of our repeat bull customers tell us that the offspring from our bulls are quiet and easy fleshing. We are firm believers in cow families that we try to build on. Thanks in advance for considering the purchase of a quality bull from the Eastern Connection Sale.

Welcome everyone to the First Annual Eastern Connection Sale. We are excited about being part of this new event. These are exciting times to be involved in the cattle industry. It makes all the hard work and effort worthwhile. We have been fortunate enough to get our hands on some great cattle, from well-established breeders. With their strong genetics, we have been able to grow our herd with some great cattle. We are extremely happy with how our bulls have developed this year. They are fully vaccinated and have had pour on twice (October/January). We invite you any time to the farm to look at the herd/bulls. The bulls will also be available for viewing at the Dunmac Farm, on Friday and Saturday, prior to the sale. We look forward to seeing you. The pedigree on Red Limit needs no introduction. I purchased embryos from Darlin 2.0 from the Friday Night Lights Sale and he is the result. This bull has ton of style and eye appeal. He has lots of length, a wide back, big hips with a nice clean smooth front end. He also has a great coat with lots of hair to work with. With cow families like Darlin, Red Sage, and WHF Sierra in his pedigree, you know he has the potential to make some great cows to put in your herd and some fancy heifers to haul around the show ring.

Here’s a bull that deserves the attention of breeders. Lincoln is one of the top bulls in our pen this year. His Sire being from Anchor D and his Dam from Elm Tree Farms, you would expect nothing less. The amazing thing about this bull is that despite his tremendous width and depth he is super smooth and fluid in his motion due to the good set of feet and legs under him. His Dam, Elm Tree Walnut is a moderate feminine cow with a superb udder and is a key female in our herd. If you are looking for a bull that will produce those replacement females or a great pen of bulls or steers, Lincoln is your bull.

Jamieson Genetics

Jamieson Genetics is happy to be a part of the inaugural Eastern Connection bull sale. It is a pleasure to work with the Bohrson crew and a group of breeders that are good friends that have great breeding programs. Having grown up in the beef industry I wanted Hailey to participate in 4-H. Jamieson Genetics started with a borrowed calf that never made it home for Hailey to start as a 4 ½ year old peewee. It sparked my love of the industry, Simmental cattle and most of all the phenomenal people that makes up the beef industry. We have tried to put together a group of functional, fundamentally sound cattle with cutting edge genetics that will produce quality bulls for years to come.Thank you in advance for your interest in our sale and program.
