Welcome to the Ontario Limousin Association 2nd Annual Eastern Showcase Sale. Last year’s sale was a great success and we are excited to bring some of the very best Limousin genetics from across Ontario to you today. Throughout the catalogue you will find some unique opportunities to add to your herd. From the pick of the crop, to frozen genetics, mature cows, bred heifers and calves there is definitely something for everyone. The support shown from breeders across North America last year was amazing and we are excited to bring forth another excellent group of females and genetic packages for you.
I would like to recognize and thank some of the people that made today possible. Our OLA sale committee, Emily GibsonMacTavish, Rob Weppler, Brent Black, and Ben Belanger. The wonderful Bohrson Marketing team, especially Martin Bohrson who will be working the block on sale day as well as Jaxon Payne and Rob Voice for touring Ontario herds and selecting this great offering. Thank you to Maplehill Auctions Ltd and their incredibly welcoming and accommodating staff for again giving us access to your facilities. Finally thank you to the Ontario breeders that opened their barn doors and offered their best to the sale!
The Limousin breed is in a great place. Purebred cattle have been selling well and Limousin’s place in both the purebred and commercial market is very favourable. Thank you for looking through the catalogue and we hope to see you at the sale on December 10th, 2022.
MATTHEW ZWAMBAG, OLA PRESIDENTWelcome to the Volume II edition of the OLA “Eastern Showcase Limousin Sale”. Jaxon Payne was impressed with his farm visits and selected the best of the best from 20 consignors. The sale offering includes a bred division deep in quality and a solid cow/calf pair. Two special heifer picks will generate interest. Two frozen genetic opportunities compliment the offering.
August, 2023 Ontario will host Canada for the CLA AGM and the CJLA Impact Junior Show. Many of these 2022 heifers offered on December 10 will fit nicely into this event.
The BMS team is pleased to be associated with the OLA in presenting the Showcase Sale. If for whatever reason your busy schedule doesn’t allow you to be with us, please reach out to the consignors about the cattle on offer or Jaxon or Martin from Bohrson Marketing as we would be pleased to represent your bidding and buying needs.

2022 Heifer Calf – Pick to be made by Feb 1st 2023
2022 Bred Heifer – Pick to be made by Jan 1st 2023
A world of potential is available to you with a rare pick from Rail Line Farms Bred and Heifer Calf Pens. If you are looking for a donor potential or a highly competitive show heifer for next year both pens are deep for the picking with over 100 females to choose from. Rail Line Females have had tremendous showring success either being in front of the backdrop or at the top of the class at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair over the past 10 years. To stay in our breeding program females must be striking in design and look, be backed up in their appearance by strong paperwork and carry a service that is highly desirable. Don’t overlook this opportunity to add to your program. We will work with purchaser to ensure selections are made in a timely manner.
This 3 year old cow will catch your eye with her thickness and style. Her awesome heifer calf at side is a testament to more great ones to come. She comes from a strong cow family that has made a big impact on our herd. Safe in calf for a January calving to our herd sire EGL 906G.
Fancy heifer calf came to the top of
crop easily! She is clean made, has a strong level top and a deep bodied female.
can appreciate this female for being well balanced sound and easy doing. She is halter broke and would make a perfect Junior project for next year.
well balanced feminine heifer with a load of capacity! This girl comes from a cow family with excellent milk production and a track record of making “Good Ones”. Sired by Greenwood Easy Money who is stamping his daughters with depth, structure, excellent udders and cow power.
moderate classy girl that comes from our Burning Heart family. Jersey Heart is another Greenwood Easy Money daughter that will produce fancy show calves with that extra “eye appeal”.
A full sister to one of the feature heifer calves from last years sale that was purchased by Greenwood Cattle. The Zelda cow has been incredibly consistent year after year. With her lower percentage we had to find a bull that would make her progeny register as purebreds. The cross with Urban Legend has done that and clicked very well. Jessie’s girl comes bred to Grass Roots out of the Semex line up, our first grass roots calves come easy and are real impressive.
124J is one impressive creature. Big topped & huge bodied that sets down on a perfect foot. Her mother was purchased out of the Western Select Sale and is backed by the famous TMF Pillow Talk. Button is one of the most impressive females on the farm for her incredible mass and shape. Jasmine’s sire is working for the 2019 commercial producer of the year Scott MacDonald. He is a full sib to one of the high selling females from last year’s sale to Opal Stock Farms as well as a full sib to a promising bull calf we are campaigning this fall. An impressive cow family that’s hard to part with.
Justice is moderately framed, hairy and real well structured. We really wanted to picture her mom this year because she’s hard to fault with a perfect udder, she’s also a maternal sister to lot 8. The Explicid daughters have really impressed us in terms of balance, look and udder quality. This past spring we purchased the Only Ontario semen pack on the new Greenwood Shift bull. We’ve been waiting for a son off the Famous Ally cow and this Bentley son fit the bill. Don’t miss these first matings to sell off this exciting sire.
This bred heifer is one that has a lot of positives in our books. The Earmark daughters have been outstanding addition to our herd, they work hard and look good doing it, also her dam is set to calve again at 14 years old and remains to be one of the most productive females in our herd. Her maternal sister was selected by OPAL Stock Farms in last years Colours of Autumn and 102J exhibits many of the same characteristics as that heifer. She is long bodied, smooth made and has that maternal look in a powerful package. When we purchased a semen package on the popular Hawkins bull we knew it would complement this heifer and after seeing his rookie calf crop on our tours this summer they have us excited for the future of this mating.
A power female with power numbers and combining it with a whole lot of pretty, 3J is a young female ready to make big waves. She is big and broody, with an outstanding profile and sound structure. An outstanding EPD spread amplifies this heifers future in the breed while being bred safe to Wulfs Haiti 4708H, she is ready to step into the lime light. Homo polled, halter broke and setting down a great udder like her dam, 2023 is poised be a special year ahead for this Jezebel.
This will be the first live lot that we offer out of B Bar/Hawkeye Foxtrot 27F, who has garnered the admiration of many folks over the last few years. She was shown as Michaela’s 4-H heifer this summer and fall, and they have been very successful. She’s carrying a service to B Bar Bentley who gains popularity with every calf crop. The resulting cross will offer an early gestation with easy calving, and a heavy calf next fall. We calved out a full sister this year and she has exceeded our expectations with her excellent udder development and milking ability. She will be a great addition to any herd.
Now this female is really special to us! We were very fortunate to obtain a set of these embryos at a junior auction and were blessed with two exceptional females. Jemma has been a pleasure to work with and we’re excited to see what her full sister will bring come spring! Don’t miss out on this exciting genetic blend.
young female was in a yard of 11 others and was the first to be selected, “she’s built right”, was the comment. The sire, Wulf’s Amazing Bull needs no introduction, on the Dam side however, Arcon’s Golden is all about milk and raising a good calf. This was her first and more greats to come for sure!
The power comes right out of the ground on this heifer! A favourite right from day one she starts off with a solid foot that travels into a stout leg with ample bone. Her width and depth of body are second-to-none. Look for this female to produce cattle with explosive growth and near perfect phenotype. This milky heifer carries the service to Greenwood Easy Money who will only help cement this sweetheart’s legacy!
The Wisteria genetics are evident in this beauty! Structurally this heifer has it allcapacity, great lines, legs and feet - there is quality about her from head to tail. Look for this future brood cow offsprings’ performance to be off the charts!
Carrying the service to Greenwood Easy money - a mating that will lend softness and grace to this powerhouse female.
This one is sure to turn heads with her impressive width, explosive rib, and showy style. This one here is the total package. Her half sister was in this sale last year and sold to Albertview Limousin. Her dam is an excellent milker who raises a great calf every year. Sired by Tref Epic Power, we have been more than impressed by this bull. His daughters are doing a great job in our herd and his bull calves are turning heads in the bull pen and at market.
Black beauty right here! She’s long bodied, attractive fronted female that puts it all together in an eye appealing package. She is out of a big framed Avenger female that goes back to Clark’s 132A, who is a foundation cow in our herd consistently producing high performing calves. Juniors who are looking for a calf to show at nationals in Ontario next year look no further, bred to Wulfs Horton for a January calf you can’t go wrong.
Another BBar/Hawkeye Hulk daughter, this heifer goes back to our “Luzi” family who have been a mainstay of our herd, consistently producing powerful, wellmuscled offspring. This girl is no exception. She is a big, broody type female, and cut in more the traditional Limousin style, with plenty of width, depth and muscling. Her dam-line is also known for great udders. This girl is in calf to Bennville Hemsworth Beauty (Paynes Cracker/Morrisvale Lumberjack), due mid March.
This daughter of BBar/Hawkeye Hulk has caught our eye from a calf onwards. She is a stylish, show ring type animal, feminine fronted and deep sided, and moves out well. She comes out of a moderately framed cow family with strong udders. Due mid-March to Bennville Hemsworth Beauty (Paynes Cracker/Morrisvale Lumberjack), who brings along an impressive set of EPDs, this female would make an interesting addition to a herd.
We reached into our replacement heifer pen to select this dark red heifer. She comes from a proven cow family here at Smart Limousin, tracing back to our beginnings 44 years ago. She is sired by RPY Paynes Eveready 73E who was Res. Jr. Champion Bull at Agribition in 2018. She sells carrying a service to Anders Polled T.K.O., a proven calving ease sire. Due February 2023.
Our bred heifer consignment this year comes from a special place in our herd. Spare Time Jailbait 104J is an ET heifer out of the Pinch Hill Ah Yeah 301A cow we purchased many years ago from our friends the Homer’s. Smooth made, deep-bodied and loaded with promise, this female won’t only be a phenomenal addition to your cow herd, but she has the potential to produce some flashy show females down the line. Her clean lines, epic pedigree and graceful stride make her a front pasture kind of female!
A solid made, balanced heifer who comes from a foundational cow family at Crown Hill. Her mother, just like her grandmother, has consistently produced functional calves and this is the best one yet. Krystal has an attractive profile with lots of neck extension and a beautiful skull tying it all together. Right from the top of the heifer pen she’s ready to be a consistent production cow or junior project, or both!
functional, deep bodied heifer who’s dam we retained out of a gorgeous EMF cow who was one of the first females we bought to build our herd. Kiwi is super sound in her design as well as on the move… we value good structure here! This one is bound to be a very maternal female and with Gods Country on the top side there’s no doubt she will only get better from here. Don’t hesitate on this female, the foundation is there for a great junior project who will develop into a reliable breeding piece!
This has been one impressive beast since hitting the ground. Extremely long bodied, big hipped and as docile as they come. Her dam is a full sister to lot 7 , this cow family just flat out works! 143K was a late addition to our show string but her first time out she captured Senior Heifer Calf Champion at the Ontario Provincial Limousin Show, watch for her in Toronto. If you’re in the market for one to drag around next year or lay down and produce big stout bull calves, lot 26 may be the one!
With a shortage of heifer calves in Lisle this year, it wasn’t easy to let this one go, howeverwe have her no-miss dam as well as many daughters roaming the pastures, for good reason, they’re good. 117K is no exception. You absolutely can’t go wrong with Electric Impact and Girlish 4Y is the cornerstone cow that produces outstanding bulls and extremely functional females. This fancy heifer calf was Champion Heifer Calf every time she left the farm this fall, including The Central Ontario Limousin Showcase in Barrie and the Meaford Fall Fair. The Girlish cow family are show girls and great breeding stock. Take yours home with 117K, she is the quietest calf on the farm this year too - hands down.
Sharp,Powerful,Broody,Silky- All things that come to mind when looking over this heifer.
The Zoom Bloom family needs no introduction and with Richmond Grid Iron on the top side of the pedigree it lends her the power and true Limousin muscling to make this heifer the real deal and a true breeding piece.
Six cow family are no strangers to the Bull making business! Using the tried and true Wulfs xcellsior flat out worked! This sweetheart has the perfect blend of calving ease and performance. Look for this “Six cow” to be a top producer for years to come *Excellent disposition- good 4H candidate.
KABOOM is the best word to describe this heifer. She’s big topped, big hipped, moderate framed, and deep as you can make them. Kaboom is the combination of Ivy’s Bubba Watson, a bull that B Bar Cattle has had great success with. Her dam is a first calf heifer that is backed by a cow family that we absolutely love and don’t let go of easily. This one has great cow written all over her. With the Impact Show being in Ontario this coming summer we are willing to house and bring the heifer to the Impact Show in 2023.
This is a heifer that we really should have shown this year. She’s a clean fronted, good footed, and fancy as all get out. 25K is out of our lumberjack X B Bar Sugar Sugar son who was Junior Bull Calf Champion at the Royal in 2019, and a cow from Anchor B who is out of their great “The Boss” bull. This heifer will be great in the ring or front pasture.
5k has been a standout since birth and was a pasture favorite by all who seen her. She is a stout made cherry red daughter also sired by the popular Paynes Tank and off a hardworking second calver Credential dam we purchased privatly from Paynes Livestock as a bred heifer. Bid with confidence as there is lots of potential here.
is a stylish and stout made daughter of the popular Paynes Tank bull and the second calf out of a hardworking Zambuka cow we purchased from Greenwood at the 2020 Western Select sale as a bred heifer.
WGL Kourtney K 3K is a flashy, dark red coated heifer calf that like her name sake, is quite the socialite. Easy on the eyes and on the move, she brings style and ample substance to the party. She is sweet front ended; the way Flatliner makes them, and carries on one of the strongest maternal lines we have to offer. We have the grand dam, dam, maternal sister and 3/4 sister to her in our herd making a strong nucleus going forward here at WGL. We feel it is time we shared this line of females with you. Kourtney K is fully halter broke and ready to hit her stride on the red carpet. WGL will gladly keep the heifer for the winter if she was to be shown by the new owner in the CJLA Impact Show August 2023.
Bee Zee Polled Kip 2K is our lone entry in the Eastern Showcase this year. Kip is the first calf off Bee Zee Polled Hufflepuff 2H, a heifer that we feel will be producing our top calves for many years to come. Hufflepuff 2H is out of our Gibson Chloe 7C cow that was purchased at the Royal Elite Sale in 2015 and has raised numerous high sellers in the past. This eye-catching, dark cherry red, homo polled with a great pedigree with very well rounded EPD’s is the total package. She sits in the top 2% in Birthweight and Calving Ease direct, but doesn’t give up performance with excellent weaning and yearling weight numbers as well. The strength of Kip’s pedigree with LFLC Easy Street on the top side and WASY Bakersman on the bottom side has given us a smooth, long spined attractive female that keeps getting better with age. Kip has been shown at many shows this fall and by numerous kids and is ready to hit the show road next year as a great 4-H project.
We at Girdler Cattle Co. are excited to offer up Girdler’s Kiara KJG1K as our first ever purebred consignment. This girl has been a pen favourite since day one by family and friends. Kiara was born at a light BW of 55lbs and weaned off at a modest 570lbs WW. She is out of one of our first home raised purebred limousin females who has gave us 2 of our top heifers to date. Kiara’s dam is sired by Smart’s Userfriendly who has been a staple in the start of our purebred herd, leaving us with functional heavy milking females. By AI’ing Kiaras dam to the well known Wulfs Bank Robber 2137B, has left Kiara with some added muscle, style, docility and an exceptional hair coat. We are happy to work with Kiara’s new owners and to watch her grow into a hardworking easy keeping cow.
Another first for us is an offering out of the Nina embryos purchased in the Deer Valley dispersal. Her dam Fat Bottom Girl has quickly come to the forefront of the herd, earning her name and becoming Brent’s favourite. 14K Gold was one of our earliest gestations to date, coming early at 271 days. She has been a consistent standout all year, and she is the largest heifer in the replacement pen. We really admire her ability to remain feminine while posting a 4.29 ADG at the top of the pen in the month after we pulled her off her recip dam. She’s smooth on the move and carries a lot of capacity through her top and middle third. She has been tested with the 100K genotyping and it is evident that she will earn her keep in the years to come.
235K has been a been a favorite from birth, we are all very fond of her Dam and the cow family she comes from. She combines growth and performance in an attractive eye appealing package. This heifer is sired by Entourage, his daughters just flat out work in production. Her paternal sister was our high seller last fall in the Inaugural Showcase Sale to Windy Gables Limousin. 235K has been shown this year and would make a great Junior project at the 2023 Canadian Impact Show in Ontario. We would be willing to manage this heifer until after the Impact Show, if this is something that interests you please contact Chad prior to the Sale.
Kelsey was shown by a junior 4H member this past summer with successes in both confirmation and showmanship classes. She is really sweet to work with. She comes from a top cow family. Be sure to check out the EPDS on this fancy heifer. She would make a great 4H or Jr project for next season.
Pleased to be consigning to the Eastern Showcase Sale again this year, we’ve selected two females from our program that we feel represent what we are trying to achieve as Limousin breeders. The first is Spare Time Keepsake 203K. A full sib to LNJ 160H that sold in last year’s inaugural sale, she shows just as much, if not more potential than her sister. A long-sided, pretty made female, we are confident that this heifer will be competitive in both the show ring and your breeding program. Out of our high-producing Curveball cow, Spare Time First Base, 203K is well on her way to being a powerhouse female, much the way her dam is. Her quiet disposition would make a great junior project for any kid - don’t forget next year’s National Junior Limousin Show is in Spencerville, ON!
We purchased these embryos in the New Year’s resolution sale last year from After Hours Limousins and we had great luck with all 3 embryos implanted successfully. The celebrity cow has done nothing but good things for the Weppler family giving them 4 extremely good bull calves. She has a good udder. long bodied, nice fronted Wulks Yonkers daughter. Mated with the Australian bull Flemington Legend L12 which offers a pretty unique pedigree. This mating will be full sibs to After Hours Gambler that was purchased by Balamore farms that bred a number of their outstanding females that sold very well this year in their annual sale. The recip is commercial black baldie heifer setting down an outstanding udder with great disposition.
YOUNG&RESTLESS
A Avril claimed the RAWF Grand champion Female Twice. 2014 and 2017.Avril has been a cornerstone of the Koyle Program and is now owned and member of Elite Canadian Donors. Electric Impact, Supreme Champion needs no introductions. A Grand Mating!
B Apache was the 2013 Grand Bull and 2020 Royal Virtual Overall Grand Limousin Bull.
Full sibling to this mating, Koyle Fergie 13F was purchased in the 2019 Royal Elite Sale for $13,500.00., by Greenwood.Proving the worth of this mating from both two-time RAWF Champion parents.
