I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Ontario Limousin Association to welcome you to the Inagural Eastern Showcase Sale. The goal of this sale is to showcase some of Ontario’s elite Limousin genetics, where OLA Members have risen to the challenge and are offering cattle from the heart of their programs and we thank them for pushing the quality to such a high level. This offering has something to meet everyone’s needs from brood cows in the making and high-level genetic packages to show heifer prospects for the upcoming 2022 show season. The Ontario Limousin breeders as a collective group are focused on breed improvement and building an increased commercial presence in the province. The breed is in good hands with a strong junior presence and a passionate provincial board. Welcome to the Eastern Showcase Sale on Saturday, December 4. Congratulations to the Ontario Limousin Association for instigating this great event. When the Bohrson Marketing Services’ team of Jaxon Payne and Rob Voice toured and selected this elite group of sale cattle, both Jax and Rob highlighted how deep in quality the offering would be and how enthusiastic the consignors are. This sale line up “has it all”. Herdsire prospect, donor quality cows, a deep set of bred heifers carrying elite breeding services and a 2021 heifer calf section that can hit the show road or develop into front pasture females. Also available are semen and embryo opportunities. Many of the established long standing Ontario Limo programs are consignors – but we also welcome several up and coming new breeders. Bohrson Marketing Services is very pleased to be involved with the Eastern Showcase Sale. Billy Elmhirst and myself will be on site to handle all your inquiries in a professional manner. Avril claimed as a yearling the Grand Champion Female title for the Royal Winter Fair in 2014 and she went on again to claim Grand Female as a mature female in 2017. In light of this, we have decided to offer a couple of females from the heart of our program that carry the traits we are striving to achieve within the Limousin breed. LNJ 160H was a natural choice for us. When Jax came to WGL for a tour, it probably wasn’t the tour he thought he was taking... After loading up the truck with my youngest daughter, our newest puppy, Jax and myself on a miserable day, we dared to cross the creek that was between us and the cows. Well, the creek had swelled since the morning but we tried to cross anyway only to blow the engine in my truck… however, after this debacle and we getting to the cows, there was a pair of calves that Jax thought would fit in pretty well. I didn’t want to let go of them both so he talked me into selling them on choice. For many reasons, it’s a day neither of us will forget.
