We are a huge believer in the fall calving system and feel the upside of it has many rewards to utilize in the beef industry. The extra maturity on the resulting bulls to sell at 1.5 years old has shown to be very popular with cattleman to cover more ground. The females can be rebred to calve at 24 months or held to calve with more maturity in a programs January/February interval which will give them more development and they calve easier and rebreed with ease. We do recognize that fall calving isn’t currently in every program but we are confident that the popularity of it will continue to increase in the coming years. The weather, low-maintenance and increased marketing options with fall calving has shown its advantages and we feel this offering presents a great chance to acquire special genetics.
This set of Pregnant Recips are the best that we can offer and every single recip that we have is up for offer - nothing is being retained except for our kids one recip cow named “Spot” that is a herd marker and kids favourite. This highlights the very best genetics that ourselves at Canadian Sires can offer plus feature some embryos that we bought from good friends in Canada and some programs south of the border that we respect. We do feel that these genetics are mated for profitability and history has shown that our customers have had great ROI on their recip purchases and we truly thank them for their support. We also offer a live calf guarantee so that you can invest with confidence and ensure that know that if you buy a recip in this sale, we will work with you to ensure the future success.
Just like your program, ours revolves around our family and our extended family that assist us in being successful with our ventures. First time FarmgGate users:
- First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. (please note due to some of the text notification features the FarmGate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate account from your DLMS Live sale site)
- After you create your FarmGate account you will receive a txt message with a pin code to verify your account.
- On your first log in to FarmGate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favourite lots.
Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.
- Place Next Bid – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.
- Max Bid Amount – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.
Example of How the Max Bid Works - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.
If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.
Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding. How will Extended Bidding works? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidding you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions. - Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor

If you would like to view the pregnant recipients prior to sale or arrange for pickup after the sale, they are located 3 miles north of the corner of RR 283 and HWY 582 and 1/2 mile west - 28336 TWP 320. The google map location is “51.708417, -113.916278” and feel free to visit with Scott Bohrson 403-370-3010 for further info if needed.
We will work with all purchasers to assist in delivery and to get them delivered to central locations throughout Canada, feel free to visit with Scott prior to sale on these details. For USA customers, we will cover full costs of paperwork and deliver them to a central location on the south side of the border.
Cattle will sell under the standard terms & conditions put forward from CSA, CAA & BMS. These are available upon request.
Didsbury Vet Services has been our main veterinary service for general herd health and all recips are up to date on full herd health.
We appreciate your interest in our pregnant recipients and understand the calf they’re carrying is your focal point in the investment. We want your investment to succeed and we stand behind our product as herd health us up to check and we have the utmost confidence in the recipient females. We don’t anticipate any issues at all but if you lose the calf between sale day and 24 hours after calving, we will offer a full credit on your purchase price of that lot minus $2,500 for the value on the recipient female. This credit can be used in future pregnant recipient purchases from Canadian Donors. Please note, we find this scenario is different than buying a purebred bred heifer in other sales because the purchaser has their entire lifetime to create a ROI on their purchase even if they unfortunately lose the calf whereas your investment in a pregnant recipient is mainly in the calf inside and we want to stand behind that investment.
We do not guarantee the sex of the calf but we will pass on what the vets from South Dakota and Alberta detected during preg checking. We have listed it on each lot and feel free to utilize that as a suggested opinion of the sex and not a 100% guarantee.
One of the most well known cow families in North America is the Rose’s and 1019 herself would be one of the most impressive animals to ever come out of that productive cow line. A direct daughter of the stunning 918 and own daughter of the infamous Motive 9016! Rose 1019 is massive in terms of body shape and dimension and as perfect in her foot and udder structure as you can get. Her beautiful Angus skull coupled with her added power and mass rank her as one of the truly elite donors in the industry. Her mating here to the $225,000 (1/2 interest) Triumph is exciting and when you add in the Chloe C815 to the equation, it gets your blood pumping! The resulting calf will be a big time piece to build around.
Lot 1 Recip: We purchased a set of red recips from Bob Yackley and that is one of the best cattleman in the world. We have reports that these recips are the real deal and excited to get them into Canada.
As exciting of Angus pregnancies as we can offer here from matings by the productive Chloe C815! The gorgeous dam behind Bravo is this Chloe female who is phenotypically outstanding which with a big wide top, broad pin set, stout hip and big barrel. Her udder quality is second to none and she’s honestly the ideal Angus cow to look at. Her production records speak for themselves with a son appraised at $450,000 and daughters at $120,000 and $70,000. Her mating to the outcross Argentine provides fresh new genetics to the industry with a tonne of power in the blood. We are extremely excited for the impact Judgment will have moving the breed forward as he is an absolute stud with generations of big time donors backing him.

Lot 2-3 Recips: More Bob Yackley red SimAngus recips that are bred for profitability and will be the right kind. When you get the government involved, nothing goes quickly and paperwork is still in the works for these recips to come up but they will be arriving mid-February and settled in very well prior to sale day.
Lot 4-6 Recips: Transova recips and Josh has hand selected the top recips from his group to sell and promote his program in this sale. Josh always offers up his very best and these are from the top of his program.
One of the most consistent, production orientated donors we ever had in our possession was the great Black Angel 1299 and here we have a mating off of one of her best daughters sired by First Class. Black Angel 6024 was blessed with her dams good looks including a beautiful udder, strong foot with tonnes of structural integrity. The Black Angel cattle are always pear shaped with great Angus character with bred in fertility. Glacier 041 has us as excited as ever for what he will accomplish in the be breed. We feel he is going to make a huge impact going forward and this is an opportunity to have some of the first Glaciers born. Glacier is of course the $270,000 (1/4 interest) herd bull that does every thing right.

Lot 7 Recip: 70416 is a very good recip that raised the $13,000 C-D Linda 1416 female and has another fall born calf at side. Very easy to recommend her as she has the ability to raise the high quality ones and she’s sticky on embryos.

Glacier will be destined for greatness and we believe he is going to be a breeding sensation moving forward. His unmatched power, depth and just overall balance in a good looking package with strong feet and maternal greatness make him a herd bull we are proud to be heavily invested into. His mating to the Traveler 1121 donor female will be a great compliment to each animal. 1121 is sound made and highly productive with many commercial bulls working in top herds and females retained by many who have purchased her matings before. She’s big bodied, good looking and awesome fundamentally.

The combination of two of our favourite donor females in our lineup with Sammie x Molly Dooker! Molly is an absolute treat on the eyes and is honestly very difficult to pick a hole in. Big time udder, superior foot, big rib cage with an extended front end and gorgeous head. Her mating will be very complimentary to the Rancher sire with his added length of body, huge square foot, dark complexion and herd bull look. We think very highly of this mating and all the possibilities that could come of it! The first Rancher progeny we have seen marketed the last 4 months are exactly what we expected and more with eye appealing daughters that have great maternal looks to them and sons that are true beef bulls set to enhance the commercial industry. A bull or a female by this combination could be the golden ticket you’ve been waiting to punch.
Lot 10 Recip: Round 2 for this recip as she got overlooked in last years sale and didn’t get a bid so here we are with a special Simmental embryo in her this time. We do like this recip well and that is the reason we put one of the best matings we have ever made in her. 737 is a black baldy recip that is in the prime of her life and came from a program in South Dakota.
The outcross matings you’ve been after lie here in 3 combinations by the dominant show female SVJ She’s The Dream B796 who claimed many titles in her career as a haltered show heifer that has now gone on to be a powerhouse donor cow. Her breeding to 9 Mile Abundance, the dark, powerhouse with extreme muscle shape and backed by a gorgeous donor female, is very exciting and your chance to get in on some outcross matings that will be highly marketable and valuable additions to your own program.

Lots 11-14 Recips: Bob Yackley is a cattle breeding legend and when we heard he had a group of red commercial cows available, we jumped on it. We put some of our very best non-exportable embryos into them as we know the value of great genetics being raised by strong recips.
abundance 7507, sire of pregnancy
One of Brokers most beautiful daughters would be Andie 365A who has been a production monster with many daughters taking the show circuits by storm South of the border. If you like cattle that can be at the top of every show class and then then around and get it down in the pasture at work then we feel very confident with this mating. Clear Advantage is the outcross sire with a balanced set of numbers, superior phenotype with great maternal lineage. We think this mating has a lot of value for both the show ring, but most importantly, production.
Lot 15 Recip: Another Bob Yackley recip and I am very confident that she will produce extremely well. She is still in the south country as I write this recip so I ain’t going to lie and say how great she is until we lay eyes on her but we will by sale time and if they are anything like the last Yackley recips we got, they’ll be high quality.

Blaze, blaze, blaze! Lookin Sharp 7002E is a high quality donor that’s awesome in her lines and sharp from every angle! Attractive cattle that will be extremely competitive to show against and then ultimately make cattle that can go on to be productive for years to come is what you will get here in the mating with Copacetic E02. The Copacetic cattle have extra extension and length and we believe this mating will leave you with cattle with added hair, depth, stoutness and presence.
Lot 16
Young recip that is reported to be at the top of the group coming from South Dakota.
Best known as the dam of the $34,000 Deeg/CD Liberty 60K and the donor of the flush of Capacity daughters that generated over $130,000 at FNL 2021, is the great 248D! This mating to Dynasty would make the resulting progeny closely related to the popular heifers from 2021 and we think it’s a cross that will really click! 248D stems from one of the most famous cow families in the industry with the Cream Sodas and she certainly lives up to those before her with a quality udder, body shape, look and presence. She always clicks no matter how she is mated and the cross to Dynasty is sure to be a home run with his added base with and muscle expression.
Lot 17 Recip: Whittemore cows are at 4 years of age and ready to raise the biggest and heaviest calves in the prime of their lives, with this mating, I am betting it’ll be a big impressive, heavy calf beside this hard working young cow.
One of the best efforts we can put fourth for high quality SimAngus genetics lies here in lot 18. Linda has matured into a beautiful donor cow that has added bone, depth and extension with a beautiful blaze face. We love the angularity to this female and think her mating to one of the most exciting Angus bull of recent memory is big time. Glacier is everything a herd bull should be and more and we look forward to watching him lay out his own page in the history books.
Lot 18 Recip: This cow is quiet, productive and kinda ugly but she gets the job done. She has a Rancher ET fall born calf at side that is the heaviest calf in the pen and quite impressive. She is probably the most valuable recip we own as she is good to handle and raises the top calves and is also sticky with catching 4 out of 5 embryo implants. 4 out of 5 is pretty damn good, that is the same amount of times that the Oilers beat the Flames in the playoffs last year
761E is a past $65,000 high selling female that was an absolute dominant show female before being acquired by Double Bar D. A blazed faced sweet heart mated to the incredible producing Structure 34D, best know as the sire to the $150,000 RF Caliber 014G bull and many other high selling progeny. The mating will result in a big time phenotype that can excel in any environment. We are truly excited about what Exactly will have to offer here mated to Structure.
Lot 19 Recip: 78746 is a strong recip from Transova and our first set of Transova recips half a dozen years ago put the cowboy back into me as they were “challenging” Since then, the last 5 years of Transova recips have been very good and this one is no exception, she is raising a top fall calf at side now and we marked her very well.
If we have said it once, we have said it 100 times, 8465 is our fundamental, back to the basics, sound made female that just puts it all together. She has a great foot, incredible udder, is easy doing and has a twist on pedigree. We really like this cow and she is a massive producer of both embryos and progeny when put into lactation. Her mating to the $90,000 RF No Limits is one we feel could play a huge roll on a program, his first calf reports are sure encouraging with modest to low birthweight with a tonne of vigour and early growth. Big time maternal is wrapped into these matings and we feel they will be exciting to get born and watch develop!
20 21 22
Lots 20-22 Recips: These are all mid aged black commercial females and ones that are truly complete. We know the value of a strong recip and when you’re putting your best genetics into them, don’t cheapen out on average recips. This trio can produce.
“Scream” 6105D is overwhelming in terms of shear mass and width. She is the definition of power while remaining attractive and sharp in her lines. Her mating to the great Walk The Line 92J is your chance to get some of his great genetics early in his highly projected future. His length, power and overall scale will be just the compliment to this moderate framed tank, 6105D. The combination of the Darlin’s onto the Scream’s is as good as it gets and the thought of getting a blaze faced WTL calf will make it hard to sleep at night!
Lot 23 Recip: We have the donor of managing one of the very best Gelbvieh Sales in the land and we always support our customers and this female fell through the cracks and we picked her up. DDN 032H comes from an awesome herd and is a coming 3-year-old that did a great job last year raising a strong first calf.
We acquired 201H in the fall of 2021 where we admired her for her depth of flank, stout, square hip and rib shape. Being polled headed was the bonus on top of a beautiful female that’s gone on to drop a great udder. We decided to mate her to the legendary horned female maker, Sir Arnold will be a blast from the past and create an outcross calf that will be highly sought after!
Lot 24 Recip: Riley Bohrson says this recip is raising his favourite October born heifer calf (Betts x 9563G) and he had her spotted for the show barn since she was a week old. We will see if she ends up there but the calf is still a standout in February and it takes a high production recip to produce these ET calves to the top of the program. No pressure now Riley, it is printed in ink so we will see if that calf ends up there.
