On behalf of the progressive breeders behind this event, we would like to welcome you to the 4th Annual Angus Collection. The consignors yearly offer the very best from the heart of their program to showcase the genetic advancements they have made. This year has the depth of quality the whole way and you can be assured no matter when an animal enters the sale ring, the very best genetics are on offer. With much anticipation, we are excited to showcase the line up we have for this year’s event. Not the opens are no slouch either, talk about a stacked deck of the very best calves we can find throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. We have an abundance of confidence that you will find cattle on offer that can elevate your program. The reputable breeders that stand behind this offering speaks volumes of the Angus Collection. Consigned by Greenwood Angus These Full Brothers are hard to look past if your trying to find a bull with pedigree. They are extremely long bodied and packed full of muscle that we look for in our herd bulls. Both Brothers are showing true herd sire characteristics; their growth rate since they were babies matched with testicle development can only mean good things. 6R continues to work year in and year out producing top stock for a wide range of Seed Stock producers. Being Brooking Angus’s number 1 income cow does not come without being deserved. What maybe makes these bulls most exciting is their full sister who has caught the attention of many people through the summer and into the fall shows where she was named Senior calf champion at Stockade Roundup and Reserve at FarmFair International! South Dakota has worked really well for us here at Greenwood making competitive females and big stout bulls. Bid with confidence on these fellas as we know they will go out to sire some great calves whether it be bull sale bulls or replacement females.

This fancy heifer calf certainly reads well on paper, with a number of the Angus breed’s notables, such as Tiger 5T, Rebel 53Y, Predominant, Green’s Premium, Smokin’ Aces and Hemi 151T scattered throughout the lineage. And it doesn’t end there, there are many “super moms” in the pedigree as well, such as Tibbie 103T, Lucy 258U, Erica 26T, and Ruby 955N. The stars have truly aligned to put together this fault free, eye-appealing heifer that would certainly take you juniors to the winner’s circle. HF Defender 146B was purchased in the Hamilton Farms Sale 2014 by LCL Angus for $26,000 for 2/3 interest. Defender 146B is one of the most impressive and interesting sons of Rebel to date, and Rebel’s progeny continue to excel at Hamilton Farms, in the Stevenson herd in Montana, the TC Ranch herd in Nebraska, as well as in numerous herds in Ireland and the UK. The bottom side of the pedigree is also intriguing, as it goes back to Ruby 955N, (the dam of Kodiak 5R) and HF Smokin’ Aces. Smokin’ Aces was purchased out of the 2012 Hamilton Farms sale by Bar-E-L Angus for $23,000 for 2/3 interest. To follow that, a Smokin’ Aces’ son was the 2nd high selling bull in the Hamilton Farms sale 2015 going to Pleasant Valley Farm in Maryland for $42,000. Smokin’ Aces was the Reserve Champion and then the Grand Champion Bull at Agribition 2012 and 2013 respectively. The neat thing is…this heifer looks as good as she reads!!

Sandy Bar Bride 74T continues to impress with every calf she continues to show her consistency, and ability to be the cornerstone of any program through her daughters. This time she has flat out surpassed all expectations with a group of flushmates sired by Mohnen South Dakota. This cow family has a strong past and a very promising future. Bride 74T has a rich history, being high seller as a heifer calf from the Sandy Bar Short Grass Sale, then again being high seller from the Diamond B dispersal, with her daughter being 2nd high seller to Bar E L were she is anchoring there donor program. Another 74T daughter entered our donor pen last year, while a Kodiak daughter was one of the sale highlights last year at the Collection Sale. During summer tours these 3 heifers were always picked as being the top 3 heifers to walk our pasture. But all visitors selected them in a different order. So we decided we should bring all 3, and let you choose which one could be the future of your program. No matter which heifer you choose, I believe each of these 3 heifers has the potential to be a future donor and the beginning of the Bride Legacy for 2 more Angus herds.
