Delaney & Deanna Boon
Welcome to our Seventh Annual Bull and Female Sale! If you follow our monthly Facebook posts, you can see that our life revolves around our family, our operation and the industry!
Eric, Terra, Rozlyn & Liam Boon
We are committed to being a reliable source for some of the most well balanced Limousin and LimFlex seedstock you can source. Ryan, Amy, Aubree & Countless hours are spent sourcing herdsires to help compliment the Rylee Hassett cow families we have built up. This winter, as we calved cows and moved pairs to their runs, we started to see the direction our cowherd is moving Keith, Ryley, Kohen & in the overall breeding quality that we’ve worked hard to get to. We have three runs that our pairs Kamryn Boon go to after ten days from calving; recip/cull run, mature purebred cows, two and three year old cows. My favourite pen to walk through was the two and three year old cows! When they walked out to the feed bunks I admired their style, structure and udder quality. When they lined up at the bunk they were so uniform in frame, type and kind. This in turn trickles down to their progeny and our overall consistent calf crop.
This bull offering has us truly thrilled to showcase! 24 of them are from multiple new sires’ first calf crop. We could not be happier with how these new young sires have worked on our consistent and reliable cow families. We have lots of options, from purebred to limflex to red and black in colour. Take your time and study the cow families, study the data and see the potential that’s here. Pick of the ten partnerships heifers is truly unique when you analyze these heifers from any angle. There is not a wrong pick of these ten, red, homozygous polled heifer calves. Look out for three powerful bred females, if they were not partnership heifers they would most definitely be remaining within our replacement pen and I can assure you, stack up to the top of it. As promised, cows that have hit production already. The guess work is done, they have proven to raise marketable progeny yet have many years left in them for you to get a quick ROI. The frozen genetics have become a source for genetics that are kept a touch more exclusive. It is larger in numbers, but there is variety between red and black, proven and the brand new, heifer bull deluxe and power bulls. But one thing remains the same on these six AI sires, it is that they are balanced individuals on paper, actual data and look good in the flesh with breed character. In 2020 due to COVID and the uncertainty of how to host a sale; we moved our sale home and went online with DV Auction. Previous to that we did not have an online presence and worked diligently with our sales crew and partners to handle orders and phone calls during the sale. Ourselves, along with our sales team, enjoyed the interaction with you, our customers and potential customers, to make sure you got the right genetic piece for your operation. So, we made the decision to go back offline. Nothing has changed, if you are interested in bidding at any level, we can get you on a phone with someone or handle the order ourselves. We provide a lot of information and data to aid in your selection process. If you have any questions, concerns or comments please contact ourselves or any of our trusted sales staff. We want to make sure you end up with the right animal or genetic package for your program. Our sales staff are very knowledgeable with our program and sale offering and we urge you to contact them if you have any questions. We hope to see you Tuesday, December 12th at the Farm for our Seventh Annual Bull & Female Sale!

U.S.A Buyers
The Bohrson Marketing Team always looks forward to the B Bar Cattle Sale. The Boon family shows leadership in so many areas. In 2023 their monthly farm reports on social media catch interest across the industry. B Bar hosted a successful SLA AGM and had display cattle on site from their program and fellow breeders. They also recently welcomed 30 U of S college students out to judge and evaluate some of these “Great” Limos. Plus B Bar sponsors at many events. The 2023 sale presents the complete package of bulls (Purebred/Limflex), cows, bred heifers, 2023 heifers and semen with quality at the “Elite Level”. The bull division will be lead by the introduction of the Henry sons. A fault free group that will impress the astute cattleman. The Credential son will stop you in your tracks. The offering includes several sire groups that offer proven and predictable genetics. The LimFlex division has developed into an intregal component at B Bar, offering five bulls for your perusal, as well as one Angus bull to complete the day. What an exciting opportunity on these big time partnership heifers. The breds are big bodied, easy doing, sound, awesome uddered females that are all sure to go on to make cornerstone females for their new owners. The BMS group has a vast knowledge of the Boon family and this special B Bar sale lineup. We encourage you to join us in Lucky Lake and come for a visit and we assure you that you will be totally impressed. If you are unable to attend please reach out to our team for your next selection. We are thrilled to be a part of this year’s B-Bar Cattle Bull & Female Sale. It is our pleasure to work with the Boon family for what will be their 7th annual sale. The Boon family possesses an impressive amount of skill when blending both U.S. and Canadian bloodlines. When you study this year’s set, the genetics alone speak for itself. With a loyal customer base of both commercial cattlemen and serious seedstock producers, the Boon family has continuously remained laser-focused on creating the best possible Limousin & Lim-Flex seedstock to satisfy producers with a broad array of goals for their operations. In 1982, Delaney made his first purchases in the industry. This began the Boon family’s journey in the Limousin breed. Their breeding program is only the beginning of their dedicated involvement with the association. The family are members of various associations on the local, provincial and national level. This exposure and the knowledge gained on all aspects of the industry can be seen through their incredibly consistent cow base and consequently, in the cattle they offer each year in their annual sale.

Eclipse 101L has lots of dimension; he is stout topped, square on all four corners and carries himself with that herd bull demeanour. He has an easy going attitude, good haired and tremendous scrotal development. His dam was selected from the progressive Andrew Ranches program in the 2020 Western Select and put her first son in the Roslin Enterprises operation. A person could take a whole herd of cows like Eclipses’ dam; sound at the ground, tremendous udder structure, good milk flow, docile and looks good doing it. Eclipse 101L checks a lot of boxes and will play a role in our program going forward. 2 Copies of F94L.

We would argue Cigar 18L to be the most interesting black purebred bull we have ever raised! He is sound and flexible on the move, carries tremendous shape in his rib and hip, has that masculine herdbull head and front end and is so easy going in his nature. He sports a very nice set of EPD’s that rank above average along with some strong actual data. The maternal cow power is consistent in his pedigree, with big ribbed, good footed, well structured cows backing him for generations. Cigar 18L checks a lot of boxes, so give him a double take here! 2 Copies of F94L.

Pharaoh 13L is my favourite Credentials 37C ET son that we have produced. This bull is simply hard to fault; starting at the ground with a strong foot then watch him move with ease and flexibility. He has so much herd bull character in his front end that compliments his length of body, muscle shape and softness. His deep red colour, good hair and great scrotal development only add to his impressive phenotype. What could make this bull as interesting as anything is his two year old dam; she is one of the four Sammy flushmates. She weaned 13L off at 818lbs to ratio 114 and she bred back for another January calf in a drought. This guy checks as many boxes as any bull in this offering and should not be overlooked! 1 Copy of F94L

A herdsire candidate that offers extra length of body, performance and volume in a maternally driven pedigree. He is quiet natured yet has a presence about him. He weaned off his dam to ratio 107 and rank 5th in his contemporary of 23. Take a look at his well balanced EPD’s, where he ranks above breed average in 14 of the 16 traits. His dam is the result of a flush that Venture Livestock and ourselves bought on the Richmond Xotic 6X cow. 200F is highly regarded around here for her fleshing ability, soundness and milk flow. She has a wean ratio of 110 on her first three calves. Affirmed 9L is the total package and will play a major role in our breeding program going forward! 2 Copies of F94L.

Omaha 62L is the cowmans kind with his length of body, muscle pattern, ease of movement and docility. He ranked 1st in his contemporary of 23 at weaning to index 112 with a WDA of 4.13. His dam was a feature female in our sale last year where she was a high selling female to Al Comte Farms. She is one of our favourite cows around here for not only her production record, but the power in her design and she is hard to fault in her structure. Maternal brothers are at Lazy H Limousin, SK and Roslin Cattle Co., ON. I know for a fact we would be utilizing this bull in our program if we were not already using another scurred herdsire.

B-Bar Citation 25L offers an outstanding genetic and visual package to be a major factor in our offering. He has tremendous muscle mass and volume; while standing on an ideal foot and moves with ease and flexibility. Great scrotal development and awesome docility compliment his projected numbers. We had plans to show Citation 25L, but we had to lighten our work load and kicked out a handful of bulls we would have liked to have shown. His dam comes from the well known Belvin Angus operation; she is very maternal in her look, big bodied with strong udder quality and great milk flow. We spontaneously bought his dam at Angus Collection Sale last year with Ultra Livestock. 94L’s dam is a big volume female, with great udder structure and breed character. Lots of maternal power in this bulls pedigree!

Pick of 10 PARTNERSHIP HEIFER CALVES • Selling choice on the Ten 2023 partnership heifer calves • Two of Ten lots sell • Picks must be made at the fall of the hammer • All heifers are tie broke • Developed along with the rest of our replacement heifers
We had been talking for most of the summer on offering some heifer calves. After a lot of discussion and bouncing the idea off some people we landed on this unique opportunity. By offering two picks of our ten partnership heifers, it helps showcase our breeding program to the fullest and allows for all our partners to be involved in our Annual sale. Seeing the result of our partners’ progeny proves what past sale females can produce. It will be really exciting to see which heifers get selected! All ten heifers are homozygous polled, represent our top cow families and are the first calf crop off new and exciting sires. Study them in the flesh and study them on paper and you will see just how hard it is to pick one. There is no wrong pick when it comes to these ten heifers. We certainly feel some of these heifers have great potential to show as yearlings then turn into productive front pasture cows, like the ones pictured below.

It is not easy to build one so powerful in her stature, yet so sound on the move and elegant in her look. If we were showing heifer calves, 5L would be near the top of the list. You will quickly gravitate to 11L with her stylish look, depth of body and overall balance. 11L would have been competitive in a senior heifer calf division this fall and she would be a lot of fun to campaign next year but her true future is in production when you study the cow power in her genetics. She was a popular heifer at the SLA Field Day at the beginning of July and continues to be a favourite in the replacement pen of heifers. Flushmates sell as Lot 6, 7, 31d

Karisma 44L is a fault free type of heifer with dimension, width and style. Her easy going nature and good hair would make for a nice junior project. Her dam is a big volume cow that never misses with two bulls in breeder herds and three females that have all made it to replacement pen or into production. Her most recognized progeny is the $19,500 B-Bar Stetson 35H AI sire.

A cow we feel has donor potential! Molly 59H is long spined, big ribbed, feminine and stands on a big foot. Her udder is ideal in structure and milk flow, as evident by a wean ratio of 110 on her first two calves. The only reason we are willing to part with 59H is because we have two younger maternal sisters to her, while a third one is working at New Life Limousin and Venture Livestock. B-Bar Rainmaker 4K has stood out at every stage of his development. He has the herdbull presence and great length of body all combined with stout muscling and depth of rib. He stands on a powerful, stout leg, with an ideal foot and moves with ease and flexibility. Not to mention he has a very easy going demeanour. Numerically he’s impressive, ranking in the top 20% of 10 of the 11 growth and maternal traits. More importantly those projected numbers are backed by his actual data. Genetically he stacks 3 of our most noteworthy cow families, Foxtrot’s, Urban Girl’s and Nicole’s. He was the lead off and cohigh selling bull in our 2022 Sale to Canadian Sires. When Scott toured in the summer and saw him the first time on pasture, he remarked that Rainmaker was one of the best Limo bulls he has ever seen at that age and he had a lasting impact on him through the fall and up to sale time in December. Their team was excited to add him to the Canadian Sires line-up and with 15 highly anticipated calves to be born at B-Bar next year; we think his future is incredible. If your only excuse not to utilize him is because he’s scurred, just remember two past bulls, Anchor B ‘The Boss’ and B Bar Austin Healy 4D ET, that came from the B-Bar cow herd who made a positive impact in the breed!

B-Bar Carhartt 71H was the highly popular lot from our 2021 sale when he commanded $20,000 to Bar 3R Limousin, SK and Red Oak Farms, AUS. He has the stoutness, capacity, muscle and fleshing ability to grab your attention. He stands on a good foot and moves with ease and flexibility. He ranks in the top 2% for CED and BW while having an actual 80lbs bw and 282 gestation. Then he indexed 104 at weaning and 102 at yearling in large contemporaries along with a 113 index for REA. The Bar 3R program used him very successfully in the heifer pen with little to no issues. Carhartt 71H brings together a strong phenotype with a balanced set of actual and projected number. When the Bar 3R crew says he is arguable the best herd sire they have ever sourced you best pay attention! *CDN Semen Stored at Bow Valley Genetics - Bassano, AB *USA Semen Stored at Genex Hawkeye - Billings, MT Lot 40A – 5 Canada, USA Qualified Doses Lot 40B – 5 Canada, USA Qualified Doses Lot 40C – 5 Canada, USA Qualified Doses Lot 40D – 5 Canada, USA Qualified Doses

In our search for some bull power in 2022, New Life Henry came to the top of our list for many reasons. We find him very well rounded on all fronts; a balanced phenotype, productive cow family, proven pedigree, and tremendous EPD spread that is backed up by actual data. When you see him in the flesh, Henry has you appreciating where this breed strives to go with his docile attitude, muscle and overall balance that extends to fluid movement. He commanded $24,000 in the Fully Loaded Bull Sale and has garnered a lot of attention since then. Henry saw heavy use in both our programs and has bred very well for us. He has excellent libido and collected tremendously in stud. First progeny have not disappointed and I think the best is yet to come, his daughters in production! *Semen Stored at Bow Valley Genetics - Bassano, AB and Alta Genetics – Balzac, AB Lot 41A – 5 Canada, USA, Mexico Qualified Lot 41B – 5 Canada, USA, Mexico Qualified Lot 41C – 5 Canada, USA, Mexico Qualified Lot 41D – 5 Canada, USA, Mexico Qualified

The sign of a good breeding bull is one that goes on to out produce himself and LFLC Dollar Bill 764D has certainly done that. His sons are stout, with lots of meat and muscle in them while his daughters have developed into sound, good milking females. Progeny have been successful in the show ring and popular in the sale ring. Dollar Bill 764D is still unique in terms of pedigree for the Canadian herdbook and brings a balanced set of EPD’s to the table along with predictability! *Semen Stored at Alta Genetics, AB Lot 41A – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 41B – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 41C – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 41D – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses

An exciting young herdsire prospect that is well balanced on all fronts! Deadshot 14J ET combines calving ease, performance, maternal, numbers and cow family in a complete phenotype. The Tank x Zena flush has been a standout and consistently strong with many of the progeny making the show string as calves. The maternal strength behind Deadshot 14J ET is powerful with Zena, Roxie and Princess. A genetic combo to get in on when the opportunity presents itself! *Semen Stored at Bow Valley Genetics, AB Lot 42A – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 42B – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 42C – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses Lot 42D – 5 Canadian Qualified Doses

Our search for a black bull took us to the long standing operation of Peterson’s L7 Bar Limousin in South Dakota. L7 Kingpin 2001K was on my shortlist after talking with Cade and studying the bull on paper. Once I saw him and his dam in the flesh I called Terra and told her I found the one we need. He was so impressive in his muscle mass, structural build, foot quality, length of body and that proud masculine herdbull front end as he floated around the pen. His 12 year old dam is efficient, functional and structurally sound and looks good doing it. On 9 progeny she has a ww ratio of 102, yw ratio of 103 and REA ratio of 103, with all being unassisted and under 92lbs at birth. His sire is arguably one of the most popular genetic lines in the US right now and one that we admire for performance, foot quality, docility and scrotal development. We were able to team up with our friends in Wisconsin, Shy Hawk Limousin, and purchased him as the high selling lot in L7’s 45th Annual Production Sale. He bred cows for 3.5 months at two operations and went to CGS at Mitchell, SD for collection in late August and started freezing semen. *Semen will be stored at Alta Genetics - Balzac, AB
