Our goal since the inception of the Quality Control sale was to offer the very best collection of productive and competitive females available in eastern Canada and now with the addition of a stellar Angus section these pages burst with quality. The list of consignors from both breeds are notables in their respective associations and the opportunities to add greatness are available from front to back. The genetics on display are current, predictable and marketable to add value to any program. Collectively the consignors and all of us at IRCC are competitors and you’ll be hard pressed to find an offering stacked with so many recent winners than what these 52 pages hold. It’s an exciting time to be in the cow business with steady market prices, an abundance of feed in Eastern Canada, the 100th Royal Winter Fair coming next year and a sale season that has started off with a bang. We sincerely would like to invite one and all to IRCC on October 3 to evaluate this incredible selection of high quality females and frozen genetics that could propel any program to the highest level. We look forward to working with the Bohrson team and feel free to contact anyone of them, are sales staff or anyone of us here at IRCC if we can assist you in anyway to help you participate in Quality Control V Look forward to seeing you on October 3rd, Billy Quality Control has elevated into one of the high quality Simmental Sales over the past years and with the addition of an Angus component, this truly is a must attend event for 2021. Quality over quantity has proven to pay off as the most astute cattleman have annually invested into this deep set of genetics that has provided serious ROI. Quality will never go out of style and the progressive breeders behind this event are offering their very best which will in turn allow you the confidence to keep the rewards of their strong programs. The Simmental division has always provided sheer quality from Lot 1 through the very end. With past greats such as Bombshell, Fantasia, Darlin and Foxtrot leading the way as Lot 1, the IRCC crew always sells their very best and this year is no exception. Those donors will certainly make a positive impact on the breed and not only have they made a great ROI, the entire sale offering in years past have proven to have many success stories. Quality runs deep through this offering and from front to back, there are incredible opportunities throughout. We are impressed as the stoutness of quality has always ran deep but the breeders behind Quality Control have certainly stepped up in 2021 and this truly is the best set to date.

The addition of the Angus cattle excites our team to the core as we have an opportunity to host an Angus Sale in eastern Canada that replicates the strength of quality of the Quality Control Simmental Sale. This will be one of our highlights of the fall as the strength and depth in true Angus greatness is evident and the breeders are making a statement with selling the cream of the crop. It is difficult to make them as good as what you see in this sale and it is often even more difficult to persuade breeders to sell them BUT here we are with an impressive depth of incredible opportunities. Compliments to these breeders for selling the heart of their programs and there is something for the most proactive breeders to benefit from in this sale. Each year the Quality Control annually is a highlight sale of the fall and we love the concept and opportunities it possesses for fellow cattleman. Plan to be with us, the cattle are awesome and the hospitality is second to none. If you can’t make it on sale day, reach out to any of the consignors or sales staff to be represented in a professional manner as there is multiple options of cattle to improve your program. Quality Control will not disappoint and we assure you to make plans to be with us in Indian River, ON for a set of cattle that is extremely impressive. Best regards, The Bohrson Marketing Team

What else would you expect from Lot 1 in Quality Control but a blaze face beauty that represents the very elite from IRCC.Without question this was the dominant heifer calf in an abbreviated show season last year, as a winner at Fallsview and the Fall Finale. She started 2021 as the Youth Forum Champion, just won Fallsview again,( including Reserve Supreme) and is poised for a serious run this fall or next year as we gear up for the 100th Royal. The IRCC kind to a T. She’s beautiful skulled, angular and refined, clean jointed, big symmetrical footed, robust centered with a level hip and beautiful balanced profile. Another baldy lead off female to match the likes of Bombshell, Fantasia and Foxtrot on offer to set the bar for quality and truly offer our very best. Terms to be announced.

The excitement is building around this absolute star that was slapped Grand Champion Female at the Trillium Classic and recently Reserve Grand Female behind lot 1 at Fallsview. A favourite of all who have laid eyes on her, she’s striking, dimensional, hairy and super flexible off both ends. Her dam was a FNL lead off heifer that also mothered a sale feature last year going to the Bozeman family in NY. Here might be the best heifer calf we have ever offered with as much potential for glory and ROI as any we have raised. Like her brothers before her that include the 1400 lbs bull calf Debutante raised as a 2 year old when he showed alongside her at the Royal and the sensational “King George”, this year’s calf has set the bar for pounds. She also has been to town and was a class winner at the Trillium Classic and alongside her dam the pair were named Supreme Champion as Debutante had one last hurrah at the Tweed Fair. This is a herdbull maker for sure and her dam just reinforces that productivity is guaranteed.

This big outlined, holes free heifer is a combo of the farthest parts of this country. Bred down east in the Maritimes she is sired by a bull who caught my attention when I judged his progeny at the IPE in BC. One of those Special Concensus sons that won the Jackpot that day grew up into a Denver and Fort Worth Champion for Elmore’s. Some interesting genetics available here on a heifer that has the lines, size and soundness to compete.

The reports came in early and often as the first batch of King George calves hit the ground and they were positively overwhelming. Like this one on offer they came easy, grew fast and easily became the favorites with their exquisite style and shape. This lady represents that crop here and has all the pieces to be a major league show heifer while on the production side her excellent uddered dam has raised 2 bull sale features including the 2020 high seller “Gusto” who is doing a tremendous job at Maple Stone. Line breeding at its best here as she traces to the 8543U cow real quick on both top and bottom sides of her pedigree. The kind to build a herd around after she chases banners.

CAPTIVATING 29J

OPEN | 06 January 2021 | BRF 29J

This baldy has generated a lot of excitement as she has been to town on just two occasions and has been selected Reserve Heifer Calf Champion at the Ontario YCS show and IRCC Cattle Battle both times!! We were at Agribition a number of years ago when Captain Scream was slapped Grand Champion Bull and at the time I kept thinking what a great cross this would be with our IPU Black Jewel 2C cow. For those of you who are familiar with our breeding program we have taken a lot of ribbing with the fact that Black River has not had many ‘red’ females in our show string. But the stars seemed to have aligned with this red March baldy and holy cow did they line up!! This is the first heifer calf out of our big powerful IPU Black Jewel 2C cow who we purchased from Labattes Simmentals out of the Simmsational Sale a few years back. IPU Black Jewel 2C has produced a number of herd sires over the years and she produces POWER. Red Jewel 33J is no exception and has a wicked square hip with defined muscle and ‘January’ type frame score. If you are looking for a female that will produce herd bulls or powerful females this is just what the doctor ordered and she will continue to rock the show trail at the same time!!

This sweet gal is a multi class winner from the Ontario YCS Show and the now famous IRCC Cattle Battle! When we started out this summer we were dying to get this JF Back in Black 406B female out to some shows but like everyone else, we weren’t sure if it would happen or not. But after just two shows Captivating 29J has attracted many friends around the show ring. The first thing that catches your attention is her deep spring of rib which extends up through her smooth shoulder and into her slick front end. We selected Captivating 29J’s Dam, SFI Miss Captivating (TJ High Caliber), out of the elite Schaake Farms 2019 Heritage Sale and the JF Back in Black mating has clicked once again. We have had a ton of success with these JF Back in Black females as was the case with last year’s Quality Control high seller, Black River ‘Playmate’, selling to Rainbow River Simmentals in Manitoba. JF Back in Black 406B has sired both the reigning Grand Champion Females at both Agribition and the Royal!

Her progeny and embryos topped sales year after year. 2Z has worked well for us, as we have retained several beautiful females. 016H is no exception, she is fault free in her structure and on the move, long spined, perfectly uddered, with a sweetheart of a disposition. Her sire, Poker Face needs no introduction. We were awful excited when 016H was born, the genetic match up was very unique. We suspect to see this female in the show ring next year with her Hart State of War calf along side, we think that much of her! Exciting opportunity here to obtain some rare genetics from one of the hard-to-get cow families from the great Harvie operation. Bred March 27 to Hart State of War. One of the absolute stoutest built, biggest footed, monster hipped, barrel ribbed females to pound the ground, yet amazingly still sets up on the profile with a stunning look and a neck that shoots right out of the top side of her shoulder.... and for what it’s worth she ought to be pretty fuzzy too! With all that going for her, it’s hard not to think she will be awfully fun for someone on the end of a show halter, just like her flushmate sister was when named 2019 YCS Junior National Champion, Renfrew Fair Supreme and top 5 in the RAWF Supreme in her mere 3 trips to the ring as a bred heifer. When it’s all said and done you will be buying into one of the breed’s most proven cow families as well with this RF Flirtin for Certain 37U granddaughter, so the fun will only have just begun when she hits production!

Each year my daughters pick a calf to call their own, and name. So when I asked Ayla, my 5 year old, what she is naming her calf she didn’t hesitate and said “Coboss, ‘cause when we call the cows she will always come to us!” Pretty hard to argue with that reasoning!! Her sire is an embryo out of Captain Morgan and Spring Creek Linne 33R the mother of Olympian. We partnered up with Bohrson’s and Rancier Farms to purchase Linne as the high selling simmental cow in 2013 and she went straight to the donor pen. Full siblings to Coboss’ sire commanded a $3100 per embryo price tag at the NYR sale. The Bohrson donor page showcases how potent that mating was with the $34K Ultra Miss Lace 37D. Coboss’ dam was purchased as one of the high selling heifer calves in the 2015 Mader bull sale and is an absolute tank with a Holstein type udder! Coboss herself is moderate framed, wide topped, deep sided, and huge ribbed. Bred early to the exciting new baldy WLB Top Tier. His mom topped the WLB dispersal at $37K and he topped the bull sale at $52K. The Top Tier calves are coming small with a ton of vigour and are predominantly baldies. 85H Winning Res Champion Female

The decision to sell this one has not been easy. Here we are trying to build an elite Angus program and are lucky enough to hit a home run the first time out of our Royal National Beef Heifer Show Supreme Champion, and one that many say is better than her dam, and one that is virtually unscathed in competition and then here we go and offer her for sale. But as this is our first genuine Angus offering we felt that she had to be included. What makes this heifer truly special is that on paper she is maternally stacked, can still win shows without fluffy ears and thrives in a real world environment. She’s dang near a unicorn. Totally complete from tip to toe, “Baby Fantasia” is huge middled, wide based, exceptionally sound, clean chested and has the most exquisite Angus breeding female head. We will need to keep a string on this one, so contact us or the sales team for sale terms. Bred to BR MVP (sexed heifer) on June 11.

The early standout of all the breeds running around here, her milky first calf dam put the rest to shame. Always bold centered, buxom and balanced she is good natured and would make an excellent junior prospect. Especially when in her only trip to town she was selected as Calf Champion and then Reserve Grand Champion Female at the pretty large and pretty darn tough Tweed Beef Show. Absolutely love the Erica female that gives this heifer her extra look and quality to separate her from her peers.

The PM Tibbie donor dam has been one of the most exciting and popular beasts we’ve ever been involved with. The demand for her genetics, be it through pregnant recips, embryos or flush opportunities has been incredible. Most recently this powerful and wildly impressive beast commanded the sum of $38000 at the recent Rose Bowl where she sold to KT Ranches in B.C. Here will be one of the last chances at her elite genetics sired by none other than the Denver and Agribition Champion. Quality Control features the best of the best and here is a great example of that.
