Welcome to the first annual W Sunrise Angus Bull Sale on April 12, 2017 in Fort MacLeod. Even though it is our first sale this outstanding pen of bulls reflects the benefit of tough culling over many years. We are very proud to bring this set of great bulls to town for the first sale. These bulls offer something to every great cattleman, from heifer to cow bulls to performance bulls but never sacrificing maternal on any bulls. We believe the best part of these sale bulls are the outstanding cows that stand behind them. W Sunrise Angus is a family owned purebred operation located in the south west corner of Alberta. We take great pride in our registered red and black Angus cows. We started building are cow herd in 2015 by selecting females from the top cow families of some the most elite breeders in Canada. Our black females came from places like Bar E L Angus, Brown Creek Angus, Brooking Angus, and LLB Angus. Our red females came 100% from the highly maternal Brown creek Angus herd. We selected these females on traits such as feet, udder, fertility and phenotype. With out these traits in your cow herd, we don’t believe you can raise great working bulls. To move our herd to new levels we are also very involved with embryo work, out sourcing some of the best genetics around the world. Our main goal is to produce cattle for the commercial cattle men that can go on to any program and be profitable. Our bulls will be fed at Glen and Kelly Halls in the same manner that Brown Creek has done in the past, our bulls are fed in the matter to show there ability to grow and show muscle expression but not to cause problems during there development and later on in life. These bulls are made to be sound and last. We would like to say a special thank you to Glen and Kelly for taking such great care of our bulls. The Bulls will be semen tested and insurance agents will be on hand to help protect your purchase any bulls returning to the feedlot must be insured. We will offer a $100.00 discount on any W Sunrise Angus bulls taken home on sale day. We will begin delivering bulls free of charge within just a few days after the sale. Scott Bohrson Bull health and management The ownership of these bulls may have changed, but the way in which they have been fed over the last 6 months is based on the same principle as when Brown Creek were making the decisions. As in previous years the ration is based around a custom bull pellet which is formulated to work with the forage being used. This year the forage portion of the ration was a grain silage and some hay. The pellet contains several ingredients which digest slower and are easier on the bulls’ digestive system. We are able to insure they get adequate protein, energy, minerals and vitamins through the pellet to compliment the forage in the TMR. This allows the bulls to develop and show their genetic potential without causing problems with fertility, internal organs or feet. These young herd bulls should provide years of service for their new owners.

The make-up of our offering this year is simple but no different from any other year. A deep, stout and rugged set of powerful bulls that come with proven genetics, right out of the heart of our Cow herd. The bulls are wintered at home on grower ration prepared and provided by HiPro Feeds of Lethbridge and free choice grass hay. All the bulls are on a total health program and as well they were vaccinated in the fall of 2016 with Fusogard and boosted again at semen testing, as an aid to preventing foot rot. We look forward to seeing you on April 12, 2017 in Fort Macleod, AB.
Bill and Cecile A rougher time for this calf as his dam perished in early May on pasture. He did awesome on test along with his buddies. His sire BLCC Mr. Red Mountain 33B, whom we purchased from Bonchuk Farms in Manitoba, is a new sire for us but did not take delivery of the bull till late in our breeding season. Thus only the one bull calf. In December 2016 we have calved out his second set of calves and were amazed by the vigor, calving ease and the ability to grow. Used on cows and well grown heifers.
