WLB LIVESTOCK Bill & Nancy Biglieni Douglas, Manitoba, Canada
3rd Internet Simmental Heifer Sale
www.wlblivestock.com Your Sale Host
Simmental Friends, Nancy and I would like to thank all the bidders and buyers who made our 2014 Internet female sale and 2015 spring bull sale an overwhelming success. We will continue our efforts to produce better breeding stock worthy of your consideration. We are very excited about the eight females we have in this sale as well as the bull calves we have headed for our 12th Annual Bull Sale March 22, 2016. It’s hard to believe just how much water has gone under our bridge. But when we look at the pictures below Nancy and I are reminded we are now grandparents so time has definitely slipped by. If we aren’t talking to each other about our grandchildren then Nancy and I are talking about cattle and the changes we should be making to produce that better beef animal. It’s a quest we have been working towards for years. While technology doesn’t yet take out our garbage or do all the other day to day chores it does offer us ways to better utilize our time and resources. This is what our Internet Sale is about. You can still come to the farm to see the cattle we have on offer(and we hope you do) but, you can do it as it fits your schedule. If you can’t make it to the farm we will have videos of the heifers on our website and with the help of You Tube and Live Auctions you can review them at your leisure. Then from October 22 to October 26 you can participate in our online sale from the comfort of your home or your tractor. Be sure to either set your proxy or be online Monday evening, October 26 during our close out to insure you get the heifer you want. We remind our U.S. breeders this is a great year for spending your money in Canada as your dollar holds a significant advantage over our Canadian dollar and this difference will reflected as a cost savings to you. The exchange rate for the sale will be announced Monday morning before the sell off. Also, be sure to read the information page to update yourself on the shipping arrangements we offer for getting U.S. bound heifers across the border and closer to their destinations. We are pleased to have Scott Bohrson and Darryl Snider from Bohrson Marketing assisting us this year. Their expertise in selecting quality livestock for breeders is well documented. They will have stopped in to see the heifers Sale day phones prior to sale day and would be happy to assist you in any way possible. Bill Biglieni —––– 204 729 7925 Nancy and I hope your fall schedule will allow you to look through our offering and entice you Nancy Biglieni —– 204 763 4697 into adding an elite female to your program. AUCTION GUIDELINES Welcome to the WLB Simmental Female Internet Auction. We have tried to create an easy to work with online auction process. Please read the following instructions and recommendations. If you have any trouble or questions, be sure to give us a call at 204 763 4697 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org WLB INTERNET AUCTION DATES AND TIMES The auction has been set to run from 9:00 a.m. CT (central time)on Thursday, October 22 with the Internet close out to start with the first lot at 7:00 p.m. Central time on Monday, October 26. We will then proceed to sell each female lot using either a 30 or 45 second bidding clock until all lots are sold. Meaning once the pre announced time has expired without a bid that heifer will be considered sold to the last(highest) bidder. A sale order will be posted Monday afternoon. If you do not have computer access, phone in bids will be accepted at the numbers listed on the terms and conditions page in the back of this catalogue. Be sure to register early to allow the necessary time to put your name in to the system. HOW TO PARTICIPATE · In order to participate in the online auction you will need to pre-register and obtain a buyer number. · To do this, go to the LiveAuctions website, www.liveauctions.tv, and select WLB Livestock Online Auction. · After logging in click on “register for a buyer number”. · This form requires you to fill out your banks name, city, state/province, phone number and a contact person. · If bidding has already started you may still register, but please remember that authorization to bid is not instantaneous. Be sure to register as early as possible. HOW THE AUCTION WORKS · Once you have a username and have received a buyer number then you are ready to bid. You will see a screen that is unique to your user ID. · There will be a list containing the sale lots. If you click on a lot, the video clip or photo will be displayed to the right. The next bid, current price, proxy bid, and manual bid buttons will be displayed below the video area. This page will react to your bids by stating, “you are in” or “you are out”. · No one will be able to tell it was you who bid and you will not be able to tell who is bidding. · Each time you login, the auction screen will display your personal bidding information. Your auction screen is private displaying your activity to only you. · Remember that you must have the lot that you are bidding on selected. This is where it tells you if you are in or out. It is here where you can also see your proxy bid settings(as applicable). WHAT IS A PROXY BID? When you enter a proxy bid amount the LiveAuctions system automatically bids on your behalf. The system will bid only as necessary in order to maintain you as the high bidder up to your maximum amount . This means that you don’t have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed making it more convenient and less time consuming. It can also greatly assist those breeders that can’t be near a computer or are busy with other duties at the time of the final bidding. Your maximum amount is kept confidential. If another bidder has a higher maximum, you’ll be outbid and the system will tell you that “YOU’RE OUT”. But, if no other bidder has a higher maximum you win the final bid. If the lot closes out for less than your maximum, you pay only the amount of your last bid. When the bidding starts The bidding clock will run for a pre announced time (usually 30 or 45 seconds) or until there is a bid at which time the clock will rewind to its original 30 or 45 seconds. For example: if the bidding clock gets down to 5 seconds remaining and a higher bid is then submitted, the clock will then restart at the allotted time. This rewind process will continue with each bid received until the allotted time elapses without a bid. Then the lot will be considered sold. BIDDING TIP: Each year we receive a few calls after the sale from breeders who were interested in bidding on a lot but failed to watch the bidding clock and let the bidding time expire. To insure your bid is not missed be sure to bid well before the clock winds down to its final seconds. Sometimes due to an unexpected delay in your computers sending speed or a delay in your audio your bid may not be submitted in time to beat the few remaining seconds left on the clock. This is where using the proxy bid can come in handy insuring you do not miss your chosen lot! The final close out bidding process will take place Monday night October 26, 7:00 pm central time(Manitoba time) For a more favorable experience we advise you to participate in the close out session on your desktop if possible. Also be aware that the audio can have a delay if using a laptop, ipad. or smartphone. Also, be sure to compare the visual bid amount to the bid that is being asked for on your audio. If the visual bid request is higher that means you are experiencing a a delay in your incoming audio. In this case watch your screen and bid according to the higher visually displayed bid amount. The Live Auction staff will be happy to answer your questions. Jessy Milne-Smith - 613 229 1073 Brad Fahrmeier - 816 392 9241

She has COW written all over her. She’s extra deep and extra thick but her broodiness is what we love about her. She has that attractive El Tigre look which doesn’t hurt any either. Her full brother sold for good coin this spring to Randy Giesler. Her Sunny Valley dam is one of the many good females Wilf Davis has put into our herd. El Tigre needs no introduction having topped MRL’s bull sale at $61,000 to Labatte Simmentals and Oberle Brothers. El Tigre’s first progeny were sale toppers wherever they were sold. I had planned for this to stay at WLB but Nancy reminded me that we advertised we would sell our best. So here she is!

Muscle is always plentiful whenever 43Y is present in a pedigree. This El Tigre/43Y ET daughter is no exception. Moderate in frame and powerful in body. Watch her express herself in her video and you’ll agree she’s an attractive and authentic beef animal. Milk, muscle, and mass will be the gifts she will bring to your program. Watch for her two blaze faced flush brothers who are destined to be head liners in our 2016 bull sale.

She has every bit as much mother cow in her as any female in this sale. It’s a given that with the individuals she has in her pedigree she’s going to be a Momma cow in every sense of the word. You decide what bull to breed her to and then set back and let her do the rest.

Her dam is one of “the six flush sisters” we often refer to in the footnotes of some of our feature bull and female lots as these girls consistently produce top end progeny. A number of prominent breeders have grabbed onto these exceptional individuals. Four high selling bulls out of these 6 flush sisters have gone to Stoughton Farms, Harvey Ranching, Leonard Bergen and Glen Aldentaler. Shannon Pirlot bought the high selling female in our first Internet Sale out of another flush sister. This blaze faced female is going to give you loads of genetic power, as well as the flexibility to match her with various types of sires and come out looking pretty smart. This line has produced too many good ones for her to be an accident. AND SHE’S BLAZED FACED TOO!

She has a natural attractiveness about her. She has turned our heads all summer. Compare her picture to the one of her productive mother below and it’s easy to see she carries her mothers stamp. Add to it that she possesses the influence of the Olive 365T cow through her sire and you’ve got a “can’t miss” combination. Her sister was one of our favourites last year. Don Farrell, was the smart bidder on close out night last year and took her home to Ontario. Only because we want to feature a couple of 400A daughters are we selling lots 5 & 6.

You will also find a 13 year old cow and a 15 year old cow one generation deeper into her pedigree. No matter whether you are just starting a herd or adding to it there is always room for females like this one.

Sire: COME AS U R RED ROCKET
Rocket Girl is out of a powerful Goose daughter. 361Y certainly left her impression on her daughter who should have the goods to contribute strength to any cow herd or bull pen. She’s sweet headed, long spined and geared to be a producer. Her sire demanded everyone’s attention when he was named Agribition Champion Bull as a calf. He has left a sweet disposition in this dark red daughter.

We consider her sire to be one of the best breeding tools we have ever used. His sons are right on target with what our bull customers are demanding. His daughters are maternally crafted cookie cutters. 47Y covers all the bases. 428C is only the third 47Y daughter to sell and she may well be the last one we let go as we can use a lot more like her to advance our red program. If you like females with substance, femininity, and an authentic beef cow look, then get in on this heifer. Once you realize she is almost an April heifer you will have to admit she’s got the power necessary to stand with this group of heifers.

A certificate of registration duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal purchased after payment has been made. All animals in the sale are sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from reproductive and genetic unsoundness. At no time will the seller be responsible for more than the original purchase price. Please call us if you have any questions about our guarantee. Breeding Guarantee: All heifers are guaranteed breeders, however, in recognition that over feeding can be detrimental to the reproductive ability of a young female, if we feel that a WLB heifer has been fed to an extreme level of obesity for the show ring, we will hold the feeder responsible for any reproductive problems and therefore no longer be responsible to guarantee that particular animal. US buyer information: · Exchange rate: Bidding will be done in Canadian dollars. In view of the strength of the U.S. Dollar compared to the Canadian dollar an appropriate exchange rate will be given to U.S. buyers. This exchange rate will be posted Monday, October 26. Delivery to U.S. buyers: Listed below is important information for our U.S. buyers. We ask you to read and familiarize yourself with this information. Feel free to call us if you have any questions regarding the heifers and their delivery. 1. If a U.S. buyer wishes for WLB to arrange shipping we will do so to the best of our ability. Part of arranging US shipments is dealing with specific dates and times that cattle have to meet US trucks. Taking advantage of these opportunities can help keep your shipping cost within reason. If these opportunities are missed then this means individual animals may have to bear the entire shipping cost to their U.S. destination. Prompt payment insures your heifer is available to take advantage of these shipping opportunities when they arise. 2. Government regulations regarding U.S. destined cattle continue to cause added paper work and increased broker costs. We are happy to assist with the necessary documentation and getting your purchases across the border. In lieu of U.S. Customs and brokerage charges: US buyers will be charged $400 Cad. for each animal purchased which will go toward the export cost. WLB will then cover any additional cost including (veterinary charges) above this amount including trucking cost to the U.S. port of entry at Dunseith, N.D. This charge is based upon the assumption that all U.S. bound heifers will be exportable to the border in one shipment. Any U.S. heifers remaining at WLB due to late payment will then be charged for all export cost and additional examinations by the veterinarian. 3. All trucking from the US port of entry to the buyer’s final destination will be the responsibility of the buyer. 4. Please provide to us the following information, which is needed to satisfy the U.S. customs office and brokers. Full name, complete address, phone number, and social security number. Phone in bids: We realize not everyone has Internet access or is comfortable conducting business online. If this applies to you, you are invited to phone in your bids. However we ask that you contact WLB, Live Auctions, or Bohrson Marketing and let the person of your choosing know of your intentions well ahead of the sale so we can manage the phone calls to the benefit of all phone in participants. We are pleased to have Bohrson Marketing helping us this year. We invite you to contact Scott and his crew for additional input & assistance.
