SHIPBOARD CAMPING EXPERIENCE For more than 25 years, the Youth Overnight Camping Program aboard the USS YORKTOWN has been one of the nation’s top overnight and educational experiences. Our program is designed with flexibility for both fun and adventure. Campers sleep in actual berths that sailors once occupied. Your group will literally “Walk in the Steps of Heroes.”

The Awe Factor Camping aboard the USS YORKTOWN is a getaway unlike any other. For two or more days, campers experience the majesty of our aircraft carrier, sleep in the berths where sailors slept, eat in the CPO Galley. Campers also learn about naval & aviation history plus many other educational topics.

Each Camping Experience Includes: Self-guided tours of the carrier YORKTOWN, destroyer LAFFEY, submarine CLAMAGORE, Medal of Honor Museum and Vietnam Naval Support Base Meals & Entertainment Movies in the YORKTOWN Theater Choice of one additional onsite Patriots Point activity (for weekend groups) We are a complete camping experience! But if you’d like your group to do even more: add a climb on our climbing wall, a ghost tour, or one of our many educational programs (for an additional fee). Patriots Point is located in Mount Pleasant, just five minutes from downtown Charleston, and close to most of the area’s most popular visitor sites and activities. From our convenient location near US17 and I-26, groups can easily reach the best things that our area offers.

In Mount Pleasant, enjoy a variety of dining options, shopping, historic plantation sites, and parks; and you are just minutes from beautiful beaches, a historic fort, and environmental center. In Charleston, enjoy rich history, preserved architecture, and many more restaurants – from casual to high-end.
